  1. Hard to do when you are the only vidiot at the DZ and there is one of the 12-17 tandems that day waiting for you to go back up.
  2. We use Windows Manifest made by our favorite man to hate, Bill Gates.
  3. videographer, cartoonist, web designer, pastor a small church, Behavior Tech at a 6/7th Grade Center, and the MOST important thing I have that allows me to do thise for fun and profit ... a working wife who has benefits!
  4. My slammer was the last jump of the day and nobody thought I'd be back Sunday ... Nobody, but me. I jumped Sunday with "some" aprehension at deployment time, but getting back in the saddle was good for my pysche. I had it checked out by my chiropracter Monday morning. He thinks I'm crazy any way. Gotta love this stuff.
  5. Ouch! Same happened to me one month ago under a Sabre 2 170. I was three weeks down - sore ribs on the front side and distended back muscles. Luckily I wasn't wearing my stills, 500 gr more and I think I could have cracked my neck. I think it was my fault. Probably I was still tracking. The N-VertigoX stayed on head, though... Must have been the week for "instant openings" Mine was caused by the slider not being uncollapsed on one side. I trust the packer -- so we all thought the tab may have caught a crow's feet on the way down ... hmmmm, yeah. Anyway I had an instant opening. Threw my head so far down and hard it broke my new FTN (see attached picture) When I heard the snapping of the composite I thought it was my teeth breaking off (or my neck). I've got one heck of a bruise on my chin and jaw and very sore rib s. Bonehead said that hoped they could fix it. But when do I have time to not have a camera helmet???? Glad we all survived this. Cameras and helmets are easy to replace ... necks aren't.
  6. Another functional Sony HC20 just sold for $117 on Ebay.
  7. Will it accept wide angle lens? Does it have a lanc port for a cam eye? I just bought a brand new Sony HC20 for $220 on Ebay to serve as a back up in case mine goes down
  8. I really like the vidiot in the student's goggles. I think I will give my TM my old pair like that and see what I can do. Thanks for the idea. "The key to originality is to hide your sources."

Sold the red HD Dyna and just bought the HD Fat boy.
  10. I got this one published Jan 05 issue of Parachutist. I have others that are of more sentimental value, but I like this one as it took some effort to get in position with Birdman Mike.
  11. I hope you didn't think I was peeing on your parade ... I said "similar" -- meaning, although I had an "L" bracket, and you have a box, the lens is exposed on both set-ups (yours and my old set up.) I'd suggest a Dbox that covers the wide angle lens. Have fun jumping your set up.
  12. What a waste of camera space (bullet cam on a FTP.) Seriously, why do't you mount it on a smaller helmet, like a pimp daddy or EVO? Just curious.
  13. On my first camera, I had a set up similar to yours (L bracket) All was fine untill one day a riser slap took off the wide angle lens and the ENTIRE lens to boot. I switched from a "L" bracket to a Dbox on the next camera.
  14. I think there are people with 250 jumps that can fly video. I did at around the 275 range. My suggestion to buy a suit only helps him fly lower without backsliding or sinking. Flying on your back underneath a tandem is a whole different ball of wax. I know many do it, such as Arville, but they are exceptional flyers IMHO
  15. I'm sure our TMs wouldn't want someone with 250 jumps flying on their backs underneath them. Maybe Skymonkey was speaking 'tongue in cheek'. I'd suggest, get a camera suit with wings. It will help you fly more in a modified mantis, that way you can fly the slot and be able to look up at the tandem's face.
  16. Too bad, for $17 I took a shot.
  17. I like the control I have with Premiere. I'm going to see about upgrading my computer tomorrow -- even if it is just for promos rather than the tandem videos. I got a great little 6 minute video, but I can't get it off my computer! arrgggh!!!
  18. Thanks, I have 6.0 -- I wonder will that work with it?
  19. Sounds good! Dave, a Golden Knight, gave me some good ideas that I'm incorporating into our videos. Very similar to what you do. promo 1:15 prejump stuff - 1:00 plane ride - :15 jump 1:15 still 05 some slo mo 1:45 still :05 landing :45 final still :10 credits :15 ___________________________ Total: about 7 minutes Sure beats what I was doing - promo, prejump, plane ride, jump, landing, slo mo, raw footage and credits -- creating a 12-15 minute video -- way too much! I can do it on Premiere, but it takes too long to render and I have problems sending back to tape (blue screen) I've tried all the fixes I've found on this forum for this problem. My computer is too small I guess, as nothing helps. What I need is the Brand name and model of a linear video editor, or someone who know what I need send me a link for something on Ebay. Thanks all!
  20. Looks nice, of course, look who your TM was! I'm not a big fan of the vidiot's canopy ride down, but hey, it was okay. I think I have what I want to include in the video (similar to Arville's tandem video of Pedro Munoz's daughter) but I need to find a linear editing board that can do the fades and all. I can do it with Premiere, but it takes so long to render, plus the 1.5GB avi file is too big for my computer to edit back to tape. Thanks for sending me the link and congrats on your first jump!
  21. no at Raeford, we have a liner board, dvd burner and mp3...not even a titler....my videos fully edited for the customer usally run about 7-10 minutes Is this similar to your linear board? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7512921294&category=21169#ebayphotohosting
  22. Try to render your project to one big file (file>timeline>export to file>microsoft DV avi) Import that .avi into a blank project (and defrag your HD) and export that one to tape. This way premiere doesn't have to calculate transitions and skip across your harddisk to different clips ----------------------------------------------------------- I finally figured out what you meant ... gawd, I told you I was dumb! That worked! Thanks!
  23. I agree Dave, What type of linear board? I have the titler, and everything else. Presently we simply shoot what we want with straight cut transitions (no fades) And what is the average cost of one on Ebay? ADDED: I try to not use VCR -- prefer selling the DVD
