I wasn't much of a ND fan until I coached football for a Catholic HS in Santa Maria, CA. I became a fan that year because all the kids were fans. Plus I like Lou Holtz. If you never were a ND fan let me tell you about their coach, Weis. The week before he played Washington he went to visit a boy dying of a brain tumor. The boy's only request was to make the first play a pass play to the right. Simple enough in most circumstances. However, the opening kickoff was fumbled and ND got the ball on the one yard line! Would Weis actually throw to the right on the first play??? He did, for a 13 yard gain. There is so much more to the story, I won't reveal, but here is the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2172623

Look outside western WA, dude, they're all over down here. After living in Seattle for 5 years, I doubt they were ever the range around the Sound.

Back when I was an airborne trooper...

Recognize anybody else. In the boat photo, the guy with his back to me was an old crusty SFC or MSG. One cool UWO guy. The other guy was an LT (West Pointer -- I think) In the UWO grad class, Sgt Godbey (demo/medic) Sgt Holder (buff dude) SSGT Simmons (blonde ) I heard he was an Warrant Officer on a team, or went OCS and became a XO or something. -
Talk to Lloyd, the DZO at www.skydiveairtight.com in Skiatook (15 miles north of Tulsa) He is always open to pilots looking for flying time, and he has a top knotch Cessna. BTW, you're always welcome there. Stop by and say howdy.

Some old SF stuff, back in late 70s. 1= lean and mean -- notice the medical scissors in the top left pocket. The "unofficial " sign you were an SF medic! LOL! 2= out on SCUBA mission (the guy on my left is Mark Goode - he's in Iraq as a contractor - he retired SF (I think) 4= graduating UWO at Key West. (recognixe any of these SFers? -

Balance is the key, and I give you a big hug to even think about your children. The sky will always be there, but in a blink of an eye, your children will be grown. Quote I agree. I waited until my kids were grown until I got back in the sky. Did I miss skydiving, YES, but I didn't miss seeing my kids grow up, their ball games, family vacations, etc. I think I made a good choice. I've got four great kids and one great wife. Now I have tons of skydiving buddies too. You can skydive at 45+ I'm doing fine at 50!

I lived in Seattle for 5 years. I'll take the bet. In fact, I'll bet they lose at least 4 out of the next 5. Plus I'll bet $500 that skins don't make it to the Super Bowl.

I had two older brothers so I seldom needed to buy any album or 45 until I was much older, say a teeager. But back in 1964 (I was 9) my mom bought me an album. I forget the name of the grouple, but underneath their name it said "with the BEETLE BEAT" Dudes looked like the beatles and sounded vaguely like the Beatles. My poor clueless mom was trying to buy me a Beatle album. God bless her! I miss ya mom! (been deceased since 1983) -
Love mine. Check Ebay for good deals.

Just a guess here Michele but I'd wager he and his group decided it would be cool to ride out a hurricaine. What stories they would have to tell their friends back home. Why they could even get cool T-shirts printed that said "I survived Hurricaine Katrina". and write a book!

Must be an Oklahoma thing. In Texas, we replace the 'o' with an 'a'--armadilla. Walt Ahem, I'm a TEXAN born and bred; sentenced to purgatory here in OK. In an old beer commercial there was a killer armadillo. The by line was, "I don't believe in no killer armadiller, I don't believe in no killer armadiller, ..."
