    I think that ephedra should still be buyable, but no more of these weight loss commercials and products making false claims about their products using ephedra. I think the problem was the manufactors telling everyone how safe and perfect it was, and gullible people believing them, then getting sick because of it. MB 3528, RB 1182

    yeah, if you ask me, the word "extreme" has been applied to everything. it loses its meaning when people start using it for everything. The word extreme is now like the word "rock", as in "this rocks". Its just like when you see people on tv saying something like "that n sync concert rocked!". saying that something "rocked" used to have meaning, but now its being passed around by everyone. whew ok, extreme/rocked rant over MB 3528, RB 1182

    well, I've never heard of lightning strikes on jumpers... but I have heard about some guy years ago that was sucked into a thunderstorm while under canopy. It actually started pulling him up like 5000 feet, and he had to cut away to get out of it. He ended up being moved several miles by the thunderstorm MB 3528, RB 1182

    I think that springloaded for students is the way to go. Its more foregiving of bad body position when a throwout, and its pretty tough for them to be caught in your burble. Not to mention, thousands of students have changed from a ripcord to a throwout in the past... as far as I know, no major trends of students holding onto their pcs until cypres fire have occured. The only cons of springloaded are that its harder to pack, you do have to reteach them the throwout (or pullout), and occasionally a student will probably hold onto their pc for a few seconds before they remember to toss it.     actually at most DZs I've been to, it seems that the majority are 30s and older. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the older folks have a lot more money to jump with or buy gear with. But I really don't know if they started when they were older or younger. MB 3528, RB 1182

    err I didn't read his post, but I imagine he means that the reserve "blows out" aka blows up. Like if the cells rip all the way open and it turns into a big wad of tatters. I still don't know if cutting it off with a knife is really a plausible idea... since you only have like a minute, not to mention you'd be flopping around, making it hard to cut things.
