has anybody considered that terrorists might have planned it this way? think about it, the terrorists hear about a wedding that night, they go into a house near the wedding, and when the wedding people start shooting into the air, the terrorists open up on the helocopter. the helo pilot returns fire on where he thinks the shots are coming from, and the terrorists win since they got us to commit this atrocity. work on turning while in the sit, going to a spike and back to a sit, moving forward or backwards. and its a good idea while freeflying that when you are practiceing those things for the first time, to do a solo, or jump with a very experienced freeflyer... its very easy to cork when you are trying something new. yeah, good thing we went in to iraq to take away their anthrax. if bush hadn't of found all those anthrax vials there, you're right, we would be dead of anthrax. oh thats right, we haven't found any anthrax or really any chemical weapon there. and it doesn't look like we are about to either. I personally have a Z1... i like it very much, except for the price but one of the smartest things you can do is visit a gear store at a nearby DZ and try on their helmets... or next time you're at the DZ ask people if you can try on theirs. this way you can see what fits your head the best. plus, you can see how hard it is to put on, open the visor, etc. MB 3528, RB 1182

the basic thing to remember about hard toggle turns is to ease into them. if you go from toggles all the way up, then pull one all the way down, you will probably spin up. but if you first pull the toggle down about a quarter or halfway down, then pull it all the way down slowly, you will do fine. ease into the turns. the reason for this is because you have to get your body rotating at about the same speed as the canopy. pulling the toggle down some before a major turn gets your body rotating. new skydivers that just downsized sometimes have that problem... they are used to big student canopies that you can bury a toggle and it barely turns, and so they do the same thing on a smaller canopy and they get spun up. and as with any canopy radical manuevers or spirals, do them up high. uhhhh. nah, we landed on the light side of the moon. did anyone see the movie they made over it. basically, they had to fly around the dark side of the moon during the mission, and everyone back at NASA was freaked out since it ment losing communications for a while. and one thing most people don't know is that the russians sent a probe to the moon right before the landings... they hoped to bring back some space rocks and so they could at least say they beat us to that... but the probe crashed, and they think because it didn't have a skilled astronaut pilot landing it. and the reason we don't go back to the moon now is because there is really no reason to... theres nothing of value there, and we have enough moon rocks to study. of course, soon we might be building a base there in order to go to mars MB 3528, RB 1182

isn't this the same as those speaker's corners posts that you are so fond of? yeah maybe we should just stick to hard facts and never any opinions. or we should choose our stance on movies based off of scientific facts from the movies. also, most people like to hear if the movie was good or not from others who have seen it. since not many people here know me personally, whats the difference between my opinion and my friends opinion? does breaking a finger skydiving count? it was a really bad set of breaks though... 1 large fracture, 2 spiral fractures, and 3 or 4 small fractures... all in a 2 inch bone lol. i had my fingers jammed in a metal bracket when the 4 way i was in left a little early. MB 3528, RB 1182

On the cubject of tracking...
bch7773 replied to bertusgeert's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
it might be that you are going into your track too fast... maybe try starting a delta track, then right away start to flatten it out. or like someone else said, get a coach or another experienced skydiver to watch you track. MB 3528, RB 1182 -
PM kansasskydiver on here. hes the current president for the KSU parachute club. but long story short, we get money from the school every year. MB 3528, RB 1182

What are your feelings for the Coach Program from USPA?
bch7773 replied to namdrib's topic in The Bonfire
ummmm........ahem..............fuck that!! I'm not letting someone go splat when all it would take is pulling there hacky or in worst case there reserve. I thought that at first too, but you learn in the coach course that the coach is the students last altimeter warning... the coaches are trained to pull at a certain altitude. think about it, if you were on a dive and suddenly someone pulls, the first thing most people do is check their altimeter... the students will too. What are your feelings for the Coach Program from USPA?
bch7773 replied to namdrib's topic in The Bonfire
yes, exactly. I recently got my coach rating and this is exactly what it does... coachs are allowed to jump with people still on student status... they know already how to get stable, how to pull for themselves, etc. all the coach is there to do is evaluate them, and help them learn what they did good and bad on the skydive. coachs help the student improve basic skydiving skills... if by 100 jumps you can't give a good gear check and watch a student do a basic RW dive, and see what they are doing right or wrong, then you need to get back to basics. I think the problem is that many people are confused between the USPA coach, which teaches people on student status, and a freefly or RW coach, who teaches experienced jumpers how to fly better. and so I think 100 jumps is enough for the USPA coach rating, but i hope nobody paying for a 100 jump freefly coach. if you have been jumping a 220 and your instructors say you are ready for a 170, don't forget you can either borrow someone's 190 and jump in a few times, or you can demo a 190 from a gear store, or demo a sabre 190 from PD. and btw, it doesn't have to be a 190, you could choose any size between 220 and 170... 190 is just a common size in there. having a few jumps on a slightly smaller canopy will give you confidence, or if your landings don't go well on the 190, consider getting a 190 instead of the 170, or sticking with the 220 a little longer.
