yeah the dumbest thing you could have done was to ignore the problem, not ask anyone, and jump that rig as it was set up. so you did the right thing MB 3528, RB 1182

a few shells containing old sarin and mustard gas constitute WMDs!?!?? boy i hope they don't find any more of those super-dangerous WMDs there... such as cluster bombs, which we use all the time. or if they visit a store in iraq they might find it contains items used in the production of a WMD!!!!!! bleach and ammonia!!!! they form Chlorine gas when mixed!!! oh noooo another terrible WMD ready to be unleashed. How would you feel if your rigger smoked dope?
bch7773 replied to Perche61's topic in Gear and Rigging
you are missing the option: I don't care if he smokes dope, just so long as he doesn't do it before and during rigging operations. the only option on there for "I don't care" says that you smoke dope too... thats not true for me. MB 3528, RB 1182 -
is it that stupid "about:blank" virus/spyware thats been going around? i got that on my computer too... and i think i finally killed it. MB 3528, RB 1182

A world without lies would be a world without relationships: "honey, do i look fat in this dress?" "why yes you do, because you are fat." MB 3528, RB 1182

those are pretty funny. I like the "if you are trapped in a small enclosed space, conserve oxygen by not farting" hahahha I should print that out and put it in our DZ's cessna. MB 3528, RB 1182

one of my friend's dad is a truck driver, and he said he listens to books on tape all the time. he says they are much much better then listening to the same old CDs on long drives. but I occupy myself on long drives by being geeky. I'll see how far it is to the next big town, guess my average speed, and try to estimate to the minute when I'll drive by that town... I'm actually pretty good at it. MB 3528, RB 1182

I've gotten that a few times... its because movies paint skydivers as a bunch of crazy, wild, drug-using troublemakers. just watch point break or cutaway. MB 3528, RB 1182

don't forget that most jumpers will have absolutely no problem with you standing behind them, and have them say out loud what they are doing as they pack. now of course theres much more to learning to pack then that, but its a start, and doesn't cost anything... in fact, i think most experienced jumpers would be kinda proud to have a student think of them as a good packing teacher. Do you ever look at someone's new custom rig/canopy, etc. . . .
bch7773 replied to kelel01's topic in The Bonfire
Thing is, fifteen years from now the newbies will be asking us oldtimers: "... and why does every jumper over 50 years old have a tie-dye rig?" Elvisio "the thought of me at fifty is scary" Rodriguez bwahahahah. i think you hit the nail on the head for those old rainbow rigs. sometime in the future, new jumpers are gonna have to buy "one of those ugly old tie-dye rigs... but at least it was cheap" and i met the guy who designed my used canopy several years ago... he still thought the neon pink/neon green/white scheme looked cool. i knew about that website a few years ago, and of course the first thing i got a picture of was my DZ. then whenever i would come back from jumping, i would make a little mark where i had landed that day. yeah i was a geek but it looks kinda cool. i stopped doing it around 70 jumps i think. Should Transvestites have their own Bathroom?
bch7773 replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
only if they didn't convert a normal male or female restroom to the transvestite one. now that would piss me off if some male bathroom near me suddenly turned into one that i couldn't (or wouldn't) go to. but if they build a new bathroom for the transvestites, then sure go ahead. MB 3528, RB 1182 -
it would probably be a better idea to get an RW suit at this time, rather then a freefly suit. this is because generally everyone agrees that you should have some RW jumps under your belt before you get into freefly. also, if you decide to do some freefly, a long-sleeved shirt is a pretty good cheap freefly suit. but for materials, ask your instructors or experienced jumpers who have jumped with you to tell you how fast you fall. check if any of them have worn a protrack while falling with you, and find out your freefall speed. as for what kinds of materials do what, search the forums. basically he has to do the bathtub thing i think. and since his lines got wet, he will probably have to have someone check it for line shrinkage that could put it out of trim. MB 3528, RB 1182

I'm right handed, right eyed, and right footed. i can't think of a single thing i do with my left hand. a few months ago though, i hurt my right hand pretty good, and had to use my left hand for everything for about a month. that was so weird MB 3528, RB 1182

Homing Devivces for Civilian Contractors in the Middle East
bch7773 replied to Douva's topic in Speakers Corner
its not a bad idea, IF the tracking chip is tiny enough to be hidden very well... because if the terrorists find it, it could easily be attached to a dummy next to a few hundred pounds of explosives. when the army comes to rescue the dummy... boom. MB 3528, RB 1182
