    True Lies

that movie was ok except for some of the corny things in it... like when jamie lee curtis drops the submachine gun and it magically kills 6 bad guys. MB 3528, RB 1182
  2. get "skybot search and destroy" its a free program out there. I had some of the same shit going on in my computer, and norton and ad-aware would remove some of it, but it would come back... only skybot search and destoy killed it. it was called "coolWWWsearch" spyware/worm btw. MB 3528, RB 1182
  3. don't let the whuffos get to you. if you get pissed off then they won. just ignore the assholes. was this student ashley's boyfriend? MB 3528, RB 1182
  4. It looks like he was trying not to hurt anyone during the rampage. Actually, I thought the entire thing was kinda funny... I can picture 20 cops running after it, all shooting at it with no effect, cursing and yelling. it reminds me of that guy who stole a tank from a defense plant and went nuts too. MB 3528, RB 1182
  5. What part of currently 3.5% did you not understand? gee what a wonderful response what does 3.5% got to do with the last 5 years' gasoline products? if you are referring to ""Total expenditures to date are 7% with about 3.5% going to petroleum currently"" that has nothing to do with what I am asking... what are the last 5 years gas prices in 2004 dollars? its a very simple request. MB 3528, RB 1182
  6. I think an electric car or a electric/hybrid car will be the way of the future, but it will take a while. The nice thing about using electricity is that if we get fusion power figured out, the electricity will be practically free, and also pollution-free. We just have to develop better and cheaper batteries... MB 3528, RB 1182
  7. show me the past 5 years price of gasoline, adjusted for inflation, and I'm pretty sure it will show $2 a gallon is damn high. 1919, 1929, 1939, 1949 shouldn't even be in there since: A. gas wasn't as nearly a widespread product like it is now B. there were different amount of refineries and storage tanks C. the depression and WWII probably affected the price of gas MB 3528, RB 1182
  8. ok I think what Bush did here was wrong, but still: $959 Million dollars for being tortured!? that comes out to 56.4 million dollars per guy. did vietnam tortured-POWs get 56.4 million each? MB 3528, RB 1182
  9. I think its a good idea. thats bullshit that kids will be teased for getting a Fat report... the bullies have eyes, they can see if someone is fat or not without a report about it. but will it make these kids skinnier? probably not... but it couldn't hurt. MB 3528, RB 1182
  10. hahaha. probably true. but then all the canadians and british who landed without much incident would have been yelling how german-biased the newspapers were. MB 3528, RB 1182
  11. so is CSS doing anything special that the guys can get in on that weekend? I tried to check their webpage and couldn't find much about the 4th of july boogie, other than the ladies stuff. MB 3528, RB 1182
  12. I would probably join. mainly for the magazine, to keep my rating, and because if we don't have USPA, then the FAA will regulate us. I don't want that. MB 3528, RB 1182
  13. I saw a tv program a long time ago about a women who was skydiving and some part of her harnes got caught on the planes wheel (C-182). anyways she lost conciousness and was hanging underneath the wheel, so the pilot couldn't land. so they decided he would fly about 30 feet above nearby lake, as slow as possible, and cut her off. they videotaped it, and just from a 30 foot fall with maybe 60 mph forward speed, she actually bounced twice off the surface. she ended up braking a lot of bones. this tells you about hitting water at even a fairly low speed when you are not feet down... you get smashed. MB 3528, RB 1182
  14. ok even if you could survive a plunge into water at 120 mph... a. you better hit the pond, lake, ocean etc. at a spot where it is fairly deep. otherwise you will hit the bottom hard, causing even more injuries. b. you better have someone within 50 feet of where you land, because you are gonna be badly injured, and probably unable to swim. you will drown in a matter of minutes. can anybody find anything on the web about the highest someone has fallen into water from? something tells me its not over about 300 ft. MB 3528, RB 1182
  15. he'd die. rather then wasting time trying to aim for water if you get a double mal, try pulling the pin yourself, or hook knife the side of the container open to get some nylon out. people have survived going in under a ball of nylon. MB 3528, RB 1182
  16. I'm just concerned about going 1.33 at 30 jumps. especially since its a sabre2, which may only be semi-eliptical, but it will lose altitude in turns much faster then a lighter loaded spectre. If him and the instructors feel comfortable with him jumping the 190, why doesn't he demo a 190 spectre or sabre2 from PD? MB 3528, RB 1182
  17. I've put about 50-100 jumps on my Z-1, and never had any problems with my contacts... I even pop up the face shield under canopy. MB 3528, RB 1182
  18. at my home DZ, the pilots have no problem doing go arounds. of course, we are in a C-182 so I don't think the pilot minds spending 1 minute more gas when we've just used 15 minutes of it. he has refused go arounds very rarely when we are low on fuel though. but once at a boogie in a CASA, a group took too long to exit and hosed the spot. about 10 people were still on the plane, asked for a go around, and the pilot started screaming at us and cursing. he finally gave us a go around though, but he yelled at us to exit while he was still turning and cursing. MB 3528, RB 1182
  19. he replaced the little flap on the bottom of the main closing loop flap, the one with the hard peice of plastic in it. he basicially sewed on a new one that was longer, and now the main closing loop flap won't pop open in the plane or in freefall. not really a mod, but we also spent like 30 minutes bending the riser cover tuck tabs the opposite way, to get them back to their original shape instead of curved... now they never pop open in the plane or in freefall, where as they used to pop open at least once every jump. sometime soon i'll probably have him add a bridle protection flap. along with safety it will also add to resale value. MB 3528, RB 1182
  20. oh i hope we don't see any of you all who yell "armchair quarterback!" saying bad things about Bush or Clinton on here. because you've never been president!!! ohhh so its sooo easy to critize presidents from your armchair eh? you get alllll your information from the TV don't you? you've never known the pain and horror of being president, therefore you are not entitled to a bad opinion of any of our presidents. thats the same damn logic. the armchair quarterback argument is lame. give it up. MB 3528, RB 1182
  21. I have a 93 javelin and it works well for freefly. I orginally had problems with the riser tuck tabs and main closing loop flap, but my rigger did a couple of mods and its doing great. Mine also has velcro bridle protection, and its safe as long as the velcro is in really good condition. MB 3528, RB 1182
  22. ok time to put an end to this reasoning that I've been hearing on here lately... so apparently you have to have been a soldier to criticize soldiers' actions. so if a surgeon screws up a normal operation on you and leaves you paralyzed, gee you can't say anything because you were never a surgeon. if a judge passes a anti-gun law, you can't say its wrong, because you aren't a judge. (this is a good one) none of you on here can criticize any president from the past, including clinton, bush, etc, because none of you have ever been a US president. people can discuss and disagree with what a soldier did EVEN if they weren't a soldier. I know that ticks off the soldiers here, but hey. MB 3528, RB 1182
  23. 0:0:0 rain and work. ugh. MB 3528, RB 1182
  24. the only possibility i can think of is send your canopy to aerodynes factory and see if there wasn't a mistake made by your rigger, or by the people he called who told him the wrong thing. if something was wrong with the reline, they may replace it for free if their people told your rigger the wrong thing. MB 3528, RB 1182
