  1. Is there going to be a wild card to round out the Top Ten then? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  2. I missed the first 4 contestants and was pretty disappointed with almost all the rest of them. Danny, last performer was pretty good and should easily go on. Out of the rest that I saw, Anoop and god help me for saying this...Tatiana did the best job. But holy moly there were some bad performances from a few that I thought would be much better....16 yr old Stevie in particular. Tatiana was trying really hard to restrain herself so we only got glimpses of the drama queen within. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. The only one of our 3 cats - 2 female, 1 male - all neutered/spayed that sprayed was one of the females. The male periodically pisses where he shouldn't but he has never sprayed. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  4. I think I've read somewhere about motion sensors activating water sprinklers. I don't know...cats are so smart and sneaky. I feel for you. We have three cats of which 2 are indoor cats and only one goes out. But, the other cats in the neighbourhood periodically give our back door a blast. It's disgusting. A friend of mine swears by hydrogen peroxide to get urine smell out of her carpet. It may work on your door and porch. I like cats but when these ones are gone that'll be it for me. It will be dog time. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. I never saw Extremely Annoying Girl - Tatiana's audition or subsequent performances, just the brief clip of her singing that they showed tonight...I was impressed with what I saw....but her over the top out of control emotions are enough to make me quit watching. The drama boy won't be around for too long I don't think, he was marginal....and also someone that makes me not want to watch the show. I agree that there were several people let go that were quite surprising. I don't know what it is about TV...people just like watching train wrecks and accidents I guess. Still and all I think they do have some people with a lot of potential and talent. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  6. Good Job! The first year is the worst. As others have noted....don't think you can have just one. (I'm at 9,415 days today..over 25 years of not smoking after 16 years of smoking) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  7. When The Whip Comes Down - Rolling Stones Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - Ian Dury and the Blockheads -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  8. No kidding! Thanks for those links. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  9. Apparently someone in GSPs corner rubbed vaseline on his back and shoulders after the first or second round...which is a big no-no. Dana White said that whoever did it should never be allowed to corner another fight. A friend of mine told me that the refs saw it and it was wiped off so they were aware of it. From the sounds of things the outcome certainly didn't hinge on this. I also should take back my words about Penn leaving the ring without speaking. Apparently they took him to the hospital due to corner and ring physician concerns. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  10. I would like to tip my hat to the Cardinals defense for their three goal line stands that forced the Steelers to settle for two field goals. If they had scored on even one of those drives the Steelers wouldn't have needed the touchdown at the end. Edited to add - And Jennifer Hudson did a magnificent job of the National Anthem in her first performance since the murder of her mother and other family members. Great finish to this game in terms of excitement...I was pulling for the Cardinals....but one hell of a fourth quarter. AND!!! - The Boss was great! That's best halftime show ever! Cheers,
  11. Great photography! I love the God's Work shot. I have a question though...was Jerry Irwin the skydiving photographer that published an article on the Amish in National Geographic many years ago? I love the shot of Tom and Corky...there is another shot of them from maybe the same skydive in one of the Skies Call books and I've always liked it...just looks like a loose fun skydive. Who are they? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  12. I was just reading the Sherdog live blog....I'll catch the video online somewhere. I got the impression it was all GSP from the live blog but hearing from you he was that good is nice confirmation. I heard today that Penn's camp was crying foul about something or other. When I hear that and that BJ left the ring without speaking to the fans it just confirms why I don't like him..... And am glad he got handed some whoopass last night. Cheers JT, Murray -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  13. He was that good was he? Can't wait to see the video. Cheers, Murray
  14. Eight fights so far and ALL of them have gone the distance. Not one stoppage for any reason. That is unusual. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  15. LOL But they don't dare say it .. cause us UFC fans is TOUGH! (That's a laugh...this morning I went to my first Filipino Martial Arts class in a year and my hands are blistered and my legs are killing me...I'm a real tough guy alright haha) Are you watching the fights tonight? I'll have to catch them later online somewhere. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  16. Tomorrow night's fight between BJ Penn and Georges St. Pierre promises to be a great fight. GSP is the betting line favourite and I think he should win and I'd like him to win but I have this feeling that BJ Penn is going to pull an upset and wind up holding the LW and WW UFC titles by the end of the night. BJ Penn has gotten by on talent for too long and I think this is the fight that will have motivated him to take himself to a higher level. 17. Damn man, don't you know, Never volunteer for anything.
  18. You know, I don't know exactly what a System Restore does but any time you think you have lost data it's just a good idea not to do anything. Have you looked through the Apple Support forums or asked for help there? Is the iPod still under warranty? If it is, give Apple Support a call. As Tink asks...Mac or PC? On the Mac, when I delete a song it asks if I want to remove the file or move it to the Trash. If you are on a PC I'm guessing the same think might happen.....take a look in the Recycle bin. I have several songs in my Trash on my Mac that I deleted a couple of days ago. I think that you will find better advice on the Apple Support discussion pages or by calling Apple Support if that is a possibility. Tink may have some ideas for you if you are on a PC...I use a Mac and am not much help on the PC side of things. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  19. I don't know what NELSAP is...I suppose I could google it...but it would be real easy to set up a blog and use that to document all the lost DZs. A blog like this perhaps. I use wordpress for several other blogs...one work related and 2 personal. It is easy to add photos, video and also to add other authors/contributors. I don't really have a lot of spare time but if anybody else would be willing to spend some time helping out maybe we could get this off the ground. 20. Prairie Skymasters Parachute Club that ceased operations after the 2006 season after 31 years of operation. PSM operated at three different locations near Saskatoon Saskatchewan over the years. I put the three locations on this Google Map that I created. I started jumping with PSM in 1980. It was a great little operation, always progressive and fun. Unfortunately, the ever increasing burden of government regulations, taxes and bureaucracy has killed it. 21. This ad played during the Superbowl. Happy Birthday Macintosh!
  22. I've been using iTunes since before there were iPods and have never had anything strange happen to me...we have had 7 different iPods since they came out, I've synced them with my home computer and my work computer and never have lost anything on my computer. But, you know....I think I remember something similar to this happening and it was a case of iTunes losing the location of the library or something like that....some searches in the Apple support groups/website might turn something up. Like this thread where the cause was related to an issue with a Sony Vaio. SO, OP - go and take a look in the Apple support, post a message if you can't find a solution. Best of luck, Murray

  24. Without 3rd party software that shouldn't happen. To prevent people transferring music from iPod to another computer this ability has never existed in iTunes. That's the way the record companies like it. When I hook up an iPod to a computer that it isn't linked to...I am asked if I want to erase the iPod and transfer the music from the new computer to the iPod. If something else happened to you I'm baffled as it is the exact opposite of what is supposed to happen. On another topic...I guess you won't be celebrating the Mac's 25th Anniversary tomorrow? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  25. I think, unfortunately, you should have asked for help before doing a system restore....if it does what I think it does. Is the music (25 songs) still in the iTunes library after the system restore? Have you just done something to only display a few songs? In the column view, is "All" selected in all three panes...Artist Album Song? Does she still have all her music on her iPod? I'm not clear if everything got deleted on the computer and the iPod. If it is on her iPod there are lots of programs that will allow you to transfer the music from the iPod to the computer. I believe there is a way to download all music purchased from the iTunes store again. Backup your stuff! I have an external hard drive with everything on it using Time Machine on my Mac and am also backing up my music and photos using a new service called Back Blaze so that I have an offsite backup.
