  1. I got it right away from the email link they sent to me. Maybe the servers are overloaded ...similar to what happened with Radiohead's release a while back. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  2. Trent Reznor is making his latest album available for free on www.nin.com. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. Hell, Nabokov played just as great a game. Hard to expect any goalie to stop a deflection from an unmarked man at the top of the crease. Time for the Stars to break out the Calloways. Detroit, on the other hand, still has a few weeks of hockey to play. Nabokov's save on Brad Richards in the 2nd OT (I think it was) will be played for years to come...unbelievable save! But Marty Turco was great ... we'll see if the Stars can carry on. I would bet on Detroit based on regular season, talent, etc....but emotion, hustle and great goaltending..all of which the Stars displyaed in huge quantities in this series....can take you very far. 4. Dang! That didn't take long. Oh well, Detroit-Stars coming up....Turco will have to do a lot more of the same to get his team to the finals. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. 4th OT coming up.... Fantastic goaltending at both ends....I'm pulling for the Sharks but what do they have to do to beat Turco????? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  6. Is there any evidence that the who goes decision is made by the producers and is not solely the result of viewer votes? I'd hate to think that is the case but this IS all about the money ultimately so it is a possibility. Hopefully Syesha will manage to stick around next week. I really think Jason would have to suck badly to leave. What is the theme for next week or is there one? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  7. I think Syesha goes next week...no matter if she is fantastic and Jason is terrible..it's just the way the votes are going. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  8. Hahaha - I loved this line! Did the judges' comments match your review of the performances? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  9. They played the soundtrack to the destruction of a great many of my brain cells in 1970-71...we had their album playing ALL the time. Cool that they all jumped, I never knew that although I have known they did Freak Brother for a long time. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  10. Well, that definitely is it for me. Good lord! ALW and now Neil Diamond ? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  11. hee hee hee... Dunno. I cringe every time she steps up to the mic. ltdiver ...she started, stopped, and started over last night...and STILL made it through...geez she must have a shitload of followers dialin' for dollars I never watched last night but caught most of tonight's show...the wrong two were in the bottom two and Brooke should have gone home. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  12. If the name of that CD comes to you, please shoot me a PM. I'd be interested in checking it out if I can find it somewhere. 14. Thursday night I was swatting bloody mosquitos when I was out in my garage building my sailboat. I was wearing a T-shirt. Just like 'Shell, the snow was all gone. Then, Friday at midnight we had a howling blizzard going and got about 4" of snow overnight. A little more snow Sunday but it is melting. I'm ready for some warmer weather. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  15. The more I think about an hour of ALW the more I want to puke. How many times do you get comments made to contestants about selling the song, putting feeling into it...if that's what you want then why not let them do songs that mean something to them? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  16. David A doing Teenage Lobotomy. Brooke could do Psycho-therapy. Syesha doing KKK took my baby away. Carley doing "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" Dread Boy doing "I wanna be sedated" And have David C close the show doing "Beat on the Brat" and actually do it by smacking David A around a bit. Would go down as the GREATEST Idol show in history!! YEAH!
  17. Andrew Lloyd Webber...omigod..that's a show I'll be skipping. How about a Ramones week!! Now that would be fun! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  18. All I can say is good riddance to that mournful Mariah Carey "songbook"! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  19. First unofficial 100-way - unofficial because Norm Kent, who was flying camera, docked in a low jumper's slot - was built in Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada earlier in 1986. If I remember right, they were limited to 12,000 feet by ATC so building a 100-way out of DC-3s from 12,000 feet was pretty awesome back then. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  20. I think Matt Serra is a smart fighter who is capable of quickly capitalizing on any GSP mistake. Serra may not have the most stellar record but he may be the guy that is a tougher fight for GSP than other more highly considered fighters. Sometimes the guy you shouldn't have trouble with gives you fits. That being said, I think GSP will be prepared in every way for this fight, he will NOT underestimate Matt Serra, and he will beat Serra. The Bell Centre in Montreal is going to be absolutely ROCKING!!! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  21. I thought the judge's decision was brilliant: Justice Flug achieved her "15 minutes of Andy Warholian fame" when she sentenced history's most over zealous Mets fan, Michael Sergio, for parachuting into Shea Stadium in the first inning of Game Six of the 1986 World Series (the Bill Buckner/Mookie Wilson ground ball game). While imposing a $500 fine and 100 hours of community service, Justice Flug upstaged the flamboyant trespasser with the following poem, (written with the assistance of Law Secretary Peter Kelly), which was printed in the New York Times, and the New York Law Journal, and, in advance of the big poetry contest, now in the Queens County Bar Bulletin: 'Twas Game Six of the Series when out of the sky, Flew Sergio's parachute, a Met Banner held high His goal was to spur our home team to success, Burst Beantown's balloon claiming Sox were the best. The fans and the players cheered all they did see But not everyone present reacted with glee. "Reckless endangerment!" the D.A. spoke stern. "I recommend jail - there, a lesson he'd learn." Though the act proved harmless, on the field he didn't belong, His trespass was sheer folly and undeniably wrong. But jail's not the answer in a case of this sort. To balance the equities is the job of this court. So a week before Christmas, here in the court, I sentence defendant for interrupting a sport, Community service, and a fine you will pay. Happy holiday to all, and to all a good day. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  22. Hmmmm....no posts yet. I was in and out but saw most of the performances. Worst/didn't like: Carly and Brooke Best - David Cook I have to admit I know nothing about Maria Carey's music...and after tonight that isn't going to change. I thought it peculiar that "Without You" is presented as a Maria Carey song...as it was written by Harry Nilsson years and years ago.heck, he's been dead for 14 years. Oh well... -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  23. Hey Sandi, If you buy a Mac, you can run Windows or Mac OS and all related programs on it. PC - Only Windows (Not including Linix in this) The Mac gives you the option available to both platforms. I use VMWare Fusion to run Windows tax applications on my Mac at work. Cheers, Murray
  24. Lori - You should know Ron is a very tall skinny guy... Murray -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  25. Thanks! One almost forgets somebody has to have actually written these songs at some point! Ron Marshall - what was his role in Canadian skydiving? Ron is one of the greatest people you could ever meet in or out of the sport. Gan regular back in the 80's and hung 'em up when he and Val started a family in about '89 or so. His role is Canadian skydiving - he wrote some great songs...as you've just found out, he did one of the first tri-by-sides (first at Gananoque - with Beaker and Greg (? - can't remember the last name right now), was a good relative worked and just a ton of fun to jump with. Ron recently retired from being a partner in a BIG Toronto law firm and is a flying instructor. He recently made a gret trip with several other people up in the Canadian Arctic. Steve McCurley - Do you have the words to my personal favourite of Rons - "Fat Women"? Fat women, big juicy women.....
