In Norway we still get drafted. I objected and served 14 months of civil service, giving something back to society in my eyes much more meaningful than joining the army. If one resists civil service in Norway, one is put in prison for 12 months. after that they ask you again if you have change your view on things, and if not you risk beeing sentenced to 12 more months! One guy served 36 months in prison this way. (Three convictions for the same crime) You are right Tonto, there is a great difference between being drafted and joining. Even though i don't want to serve in the army, I support the thought that everybody should serve and give something back to society. I just think it should apply to girls to....(opening another can of worms here....) There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I'd like to see some studies about skydiving and post trauma syndroms after cutaways/near accidents. Kind of funny how after an airliner near accident, people need lots of therapy to work throug the experience while skydivers, after beeing just seconds away from sure death justs thinks..."damn...now i need a repack and a new cutaway pillow..." I am a conscientious objector myself. I would say it sounds like he has been using the system to get benifits, going against his beliefs. Being a CO means that you are not willing to take any part in the military, but rather work for the alternativs. As a CO I would not work in any position for the military. I see no difference in cooking the food for the soldier who kills, than beein the one who pulls the trigger. It would seem fair to demand that he pays some kind of compensation for the benifits he has got. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Probably wont work, but try this: http://64.69.64.39/ You can try to edit your hostfile and create another name for dropzone.com by adding workrelated.com 64.69.64.39 (your host file will be located in c:\windows\ in win98. and c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\ in winnt) Correct me if my memory is failing me. Just search for a file named hosts (not host.sam!) and edit it with notepad. and then just point to workrelated.com and dz.com will pop up. Alternativly, do a google search for "public proxies" and se if that works to.... Usually there is a way around the blockades our employers set up for us....

I had a containerlock once, and some people said that they would reach back and try to yank out the pin first instead of going straight to emergency. Not something I considdered with a life expectancy of 12.5 second... You did the right thing Tasadin. Congrats for saving your life....and....BEEEEER There are only 10 types of people in the world. What about if you fly a pocket rocket (ie. vx-79 and a pd-113r). Cut away one or land both without flaring? There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I got a FT-50. Works great and not as expensive as alti III/galaxy. They look pretty much alike, and are probably pretty equal. If I were to get an altimeter now, I would also considder the new Neptune from Alti, but I don't think their available yet. (just around the corner I think). I stopped with all my alergy medication. Instead I rinse my nose with warm salt water. No side effects what so ever, and much more effective than any pills I've ever taken. A farmacy should have a special bottle for this with instructions on howto use. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I tried exiting a C-206 and going direct into bootie fly. Didn't work so great. Anyone else been doing this? I tumbled 1000 feet, gave up, went to belly and up on the booties, that worked. Any tips, I'm just learning to bootie fly....and fun it is

I use the small rubber bands and single stows on my Hornet 170 with 825 spectra lines. No problems yet. I don't double stow because of lazynes, and it has worked so far. What seems to have greater effect than the stows, is how much line I leave from the last stow till the risers. Seems like short line give more off-heading and messy openings. Just my experience. I see that Østre Æra in Norway is not entirely up to date. Here is what I know so far. -Dropzone open every day from May 10th to September 13th this year. -Last year a new bunkhouse was buildt. -Jump price 119 NOK - 149 NOK to 13000' (Depening on when) -Planes: AN-28 (sometimes x2 ) -There will be a gear shop there this summer.(Sky Design) -At various times there will be organisers and coaches (both FF and FS). Sometimes even for free
