  1. They will hurt at first, but it will pass. I had a tendency to squez the strings to had at first, so trying to use a little lighter pressure might help a little. Now I almost haven't touched a guitar for 6-7 years, so my fingers hurt a little if I play, not nearly as much as when I started playing. Well as the saying goes. 3. Sounds like you have plan, and you know what you want to do with your life. Great that it worked out

    How to

Someone here got a sig which say something like: It's not an extreme sport unless you can die from massive internal injuries. Sounds fair to me There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  5. Well here is a big don't: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=340256#340256 Check out the video from skydivingmovies.com: ftp://ftp.skydivingmovies.com/public/rw/colision.WMV There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  6. I'd like to nominate AggieDave. I had a dream some day in december. It was right before New Years eve and I'm standing in line at the liqure store. When the person in front of me turns around it's AggieDave! -"Aren't you AggieDave" I ask. -"Yeah some call me that" he says and walks away. Well, maybe I shouldn't nominate him. He should have at least stopped and chatted a little There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  7. Here's my gear setup: Container: Vector II v2-2 Main: Hornet 170 Reserve: Firelite 176 AAD: Cypress There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  8. Be sure to check the upper limit you're luggage is insured for. I think my travelers insurance has an upper limit at $2000 dollars for luggage. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  9. When I've seen this happen they have put the "offending" item and put it in a cardbox, which you later can pick up together with your luggage. I guess your little screwdriver probably went a couple of time round the luggage-pickup-band in a little white box. There are only 10 types of people in the world. 10. I had a lot of beers yesterday. Having a bit of a hangover. This DID NOT HELP!!!! (Why the heck did I even try...???) There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  11. I believe the picture is of a Vector I (correct me if I'm wrong). It's almost the same reserve pin setup, but the Vector II has tuck tabs on the reserve flap instead of velcro. A Vector II also has an opening that the pin enters so that the pin cant be turned like that unless the end of the pin is out of the little pocket. Don't know if the vI has it. I'm suprised the jumper didn't catch it when he turned on the cypres. Was this the first jump of the day? What strikes me is that it almost sounds like somebody had looked at this rigg and tried to figure out how it works. (Pull out the pc. See how the main pin is attached to the bridle. Look at the reserve pin. Lifting it up a little and turning it to see better. You're right, this could have been prevented with a simple gear check. Happy to hear the jumper made it safe to the ground. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  12. I got one saving account dedicated to skydiving. Since I havent jumped since september I use it to cheer up. Transfering some money for a couple of jump tickets whenever I wished I could jump. It's growing fast.

    Hug Please?

{{{{Good vibes from Norway}}}} Hang in there! Remember you got friends all over the world. Not many people are as lucky as dz.com'ers...
  14. Just want to second that of icarus and service. I ordered my Hornet from them, and got great service. Now I'm just waiting for the temperatures to drop a little so that I can jump again
  15. I never leave the plane without having checked my gear. Usually I check my leg and chest strap first, adjusting them if they feel a little bit off. Then i think to myself: Ok I have my rig on, that's a good start
  16. Well, I failed level 3 four times before I got it right (yes, it it costed a little more than I had planned). I had problems holdin a steady heading. Think I just were to tense, and didn't feel in controll as much as I liked. Then I were alowed to jump with sneakers. (I had heavy military boots). That jump solved everyting. With sneakers, I felt the air on my legs, and felt in control. Suddenly it was all fun and no stress. I would believe you are flexible enough if you relax. However flex and train those hips. Do some mamba
  17. Just for fun, the last time I packed my chute. I studied how a forgotten pullup cord would probably behave. Pulled the bridle and the bag was not to eager to come out. Conclusion: better not forget There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  18. AAAaaaaarghh.... That commercial is probably never showing in Norway, and I'm left here watching boring non-skydiving commecials Somebody please upload the video to ftp.skydivingmovies.com There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  19. Thank god! This gives me a little trust in the system again.
  20. You forgot the best: Sky Design Collection There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  21. I've flown with booties since my 7th jump (or so). Just love them. Buy with boosters if you're going to do a lot of RW, and you're putting down some cash for a suit. They make all leg movements much more responsive. They may cause some bad habits, but bad habits can come without booties too. Just what I think, but then again I've got sub 100 jumps and almost haven't jumped without. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

    High/Low

  23. Hi Glad everything turned out ok
  24. Just want to throw in my opinion. I'm no expert at this, but this is what i've concluded: Bellyfliers first: pro: Drift causes more horizontal seperation. con: Opening at almost same time for freeflyers and belly fliers. Freeflyers first: Pro: Time difference (vertical seperation). A freeflyer exiting first would have been under canopy for 20 seconds when the bellyflyer opens. Con: Drift can cause zero horizontal seperation. There's a lot of factors in play here, and arguments for both cases. I haven't decided yet what exit order I would prefer. However it seems like most people (and the ones with a lot of experience) argue for bellyfliers first, so with my low experience that option would seem like the most wise. I would agree in theory. Especially when looking at the simulations. However, when it comes reality I am not entirely convinced what would be the safest. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
