    animated avatar?

Since they got banned I think the only person left with an animated avatar is hobbes4star. dz.com became so much more pleasant to browse after all the flashing/moving avatar disapeared. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  3. nah....drop him from your regular jumpship. I want one There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  4. I walked away ok. A flat turn could have put me into trees or on colision course with other jumpers. What I really should have anticipated was the lower windspeed at the ground. Both due to the wind at takeoff, and the landscape were I landed. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  5. We did this last weekend to plan a 4-way random. Cut out 4 pieces of paper with a skydiver drawed on and each persons initials. Then we got down on the creepers in a star and dirted the dive first with the paper cutouts. Each person controling his figure. This made it easy to plan how to go from formation to formation with the least amount of moving around, and we learned the dive real quick. Just made it much easier to visiulize first rather than wasting much time messing around on the creepers. There are only 10 types of people in the world. 6. I believe the correct action for a not landable malfunction below safe cutaway altitude would be to deploy the reserve without cutting away. Could go from bad to worse, but better than cutting away with not enough time to get the reserve out and flying. Probably better than doing nothing as you have a chance to get a two out situation, or at least more fabric over your head. Much would probably depend on type of malfunction and type of canopy. Do anybody know if there has been any research or test jumping with firering the reserve while under a malfunctioning canopy? Do other more experienced than me agree on this line of action? who is this?

If you wanna go extreme, you could bungee with a chute. Deploy at the bottom and do an upside down base jump There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  8. Got to study the map and browse the NASA pages more, but I think it will be about 90% in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Island and northern UK. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  9. I don't have dive loops on my risers, and at 90 jumps I really need some more experience before performing those kind of landing maneuvers. A low flat turn, landing downwind would might have been an option, but I had another jumper behind me and so I didn't want to try that. I'll just pack my canopy slider down and take it to terminal, then the mud will bounce right off There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  10. Ok a coupple of weeks ago landed out. Had about 10 jumps at this dropzone, so I'm still not very familiar with the outs there. I were under canopy and flying well above 2000', but it was windy (25-30 knot) up there. It looked like I might make it back, but I like to know I'm going to make it back, and the others hanging belowe me were flying in to land at a little go-car track, so I decided to land with them. (So far doing things right). Due to the wind, and not going to fast I position myself fairly close to the alternative landing area. At about 300' the wind pitches down, and I'm realizing I'm going to overshoot were I planned to land quite a bit. As i get closer to the ground I see a fence, I didn't see from altitude. Winds pick down further, and I realize I'm going to clear the fence. Now it looks like I'm going to land in an area covered with old car tires. I'm thinking PLF and it should be fine. Now it's no wind at all, and I'm going past the tires. and begining to reach the end of possible landing area. Finanlly see where I will land. At the very end of the area there is a "oposite of ditch" (don't know the english word). PLF on that, falling head first over, and behind it's a ditch. A couple of meters of freefall before I land in the bottom of the ditch. Mud on my jumpsuit. Mud on my new canopy. I'm ok, just a sore heel from the first impact with the ground. What I did right: - No stupid low turns in tight area. - Planned where I was going to land. Landing together with the others. (Although due to the wind condition I would have made it back, but it was no way to be sure of that when I were under canopy.) - PLF What I learned: - I still need more experience to land in difficut wind conditions. - My new canopy brings me longer than my old beat up F111 canopy. - Going to do better positioning/landing pattern next time. - Still learning the characteristics of my new Hornet. I could have hurt myself, but it went well, and next time I will be better prepared.
  11. May 31st there will be an eclipse in Europe. Map from NASA I'm hoping my dropzone will arrange an eclipse jump, but still waiting to hear from them. The eclipse will not be total, but over 90%. It will be at about 04.00am and the sun will be about 7-8 degrees above the horizon. An eclipse jump would be just awesom There are only 10 types of people in the world. glasses?

I use contacts and have not had any problems with them. I use Prowler Googles. If you don't want to wear contacts, getting them with perscription would be a good alternative. http://www.athleticoptics.com/default.asp?Action=GetSports&MfgrID=48 There are only 10 types of people in the world. 13. Saturday we started dirt diving at night...drunk as we were. Loads of fun doing turn, tracking...then sit flying and at last head-down...then we stopped before someone got seriously hurt... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  14. Open it in photoshop. Go to file and select "save for web". Adjust resolution/quality/etc, save and upload. I think the max size for attachments is 60Kb at dz.com. Good luck...

  17. I think most people who use apache is self taught. It's not that difficult, I would recommend running it on a linux box along with php and mysql. There are loads of tutorials on the web. I write my pages in Vim. (a unix text editor), but that's just my style. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

  19. Has anybody tried having fs-4 competitions on creepers? I've thought of this as a good way to make time pass on weather holding. -35 seconds working time. -random blocks -video judging -beer... Any suggestions to how to arrange this? Rules and such... There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
  20. That sucks... Heels tend to take a while to get better (mine do anyway). Tiptoeing myself after an minor incident on landing out last weekend. Not enough to stop me from jumping, but enough to annoy me... Maybe I'll post it in the safety and training forum later. Only thing to do is probably to try and keep it still. -Blue skies and no wind There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

You're actually complaining because you jump to much...what is the world comming to Sound like you have some busy days, but hey I'm stuck in an office and it's a blue sky with no clouds whatsoever here... 50 jumps on one day guess they are going to nail those exits...
