One that's more secret than the secret menu on their website?
-
Sounds interesting. I still have a vivid memory of an alien (not really "abduction" - they were in my room) dream that I had about 23 years ago. It was one of those "awake during sleep paralysis" dreams, which I've had most of my life, and I've read that many "alien abductions" are attributed to those dreams. Not sure if that has anything to do with this movie, but it reminded me of that. Maybe I'll check it out from Netflix.

It wasn't really all that good.

That's what their website said, but it didn't taste mustardy to me. I'd probably like it better with mustard in place of the spread. But then I guess it wouldn't be animal style, if you're right about the messy spread being the "animal" part. And BIGUN: I looked at wikipedia before I posted on here, but it didn't answer my question. However, it did explain the crossed palm trees at some of their locations, which I had wondered about before.

OK, well, since they named it before "A Clockwork Orange" was written, then I'll believe it was an innocent choice.
-
Well, it does seem to have a dirty connotation, especially coming from a place called In-N-Out. But then they put Bible verses on their food wrappers and cups, so I don't know . . .
-
I'm not familiar with the "messy gravy shit." The only messy stuff on there was the "spread," which is like Thousand Island dressing (and which I probably didn't need!).
-
So I had my first "animal style" burger from In-N-Out today, and now I'm wondering why it is called that. The only noticeable difference was that they grilled the onions and added pickles, and I don't see anything very "animal" about that, so how did it get that name? (As you can see, I am pondering life's important questions today.)

I watched it last night. Great movie. And I'm sorry, quade, but I have to agree with Fox that the movie takes no position on the war. I can see how you might take that opening statement (and therefore the theme of the film) to be anti-war, but I didn't take it that way. To me, it just seemed to be a study on how some people become addicted to the rush of battle. (Perhaps an anti-addiction statement, although they really didn't focus on it in a negative light.)

Miss Beverly Hills Thinks God Wants Gays Put to Death

OK, I'll admit I've been bad, but not that bad. [stern look, slapping wooden ruler in palm of hand] And just have bad have you been, Miss Shotgun? [/stern look, slapping wooden ruler in palm of hand] Maybe bad enough to come back as a dog, but not as one of the untouchables! -

What do you think about masturbation? Well, I think it is the first step to chemical dependency, i.e., self gratification, self love, narcissism, ego centric behavior. Hmm... That is interesting, though I don't agree with you. I think that masturbation is a normal and healthy thing to do, as long as it is not compulsive. -
It has nothing to do with him being gay. It has to do with him being a fraudulent hypocrite. I understand what the issue is. (Though, technically, he wasn't really doing anything that he voted against. He wasn't out trying to marry another man, and he wasn't voting to make homosexuality or gay bars illegal.) I just find it interesting that there is so much in the news about him being a closet homosexual, and the fact that he was driving drunk is just thrown in there with no significance.

The best book I've read recently is Choke by Chuck Palahniuk (the guy who wrote Fight Club). From the reviews, it seems to be one of those "love it or hate it" books, and I loved it.

I have a cat named Monkey.

? Depends on which part of Austin you're in. From downtown or South Austin, I'm pretty sure San Marcos is closer.
-
Oh yeah, and I'll also vouch for the restaurants/bars/shops along South Congress, the nude beach at Hippie Hollow, and the burgers at Casino El Camino.

The Austin Nature Center has some nice trails. One that goes up a hill and has a nice view of the downtown skyline. It is connected to Zilker Park and the hike & bike trails that run all along the downtown lake and greenbelt, which is one of my favorite parts of the city. And someone already mentioned the bats at the Congress bridge; they're pretty cool to see. A short drive away is Hamilton Pool, another favorite place of mine. I'm not sure of the current conditions though. It seemed that the water level was pretty low when I was there in January. Again, some nice trails, plus year-round swimming. (There is also year-round swimming at the spring-fed pools near downtown Austin - Barton Springs and Deep Eddy.) The Capital building is interesting to tour, or the Texas State History Museum. You should definitely have some barbecue (especially brisket!) while you're there. I'd suggest Green Mesquite, Iron Works, Art's, or the County Line. Skydive San Marcos is my home dropzone, and I've always had a great time there, but it's been years since I've been there, so I don't know what it's like right now. Temple was fun too, but again I haven't been there in years.

Why Growing Numbers of Baby Boomers and the Elderly Are Smoking Pot

I have long thought that the "medical marijuana" route to legalization is not the way to go. It should be legalized as a recreational drug and treated similar to the other legal recreational drugs. It simply doesn't make sense for it to be illegal when alcohol and tobacco are legal. And maybe it does have some medicinal uses, but to me, that whole argument is just clouding the real issue.
