The diplomatic discussion on using the system to your advantage.
Shotgun replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
Oh. Well, this thread would be a lot more amusing if you had at least peed in the tent before taking it back. Considering it was a DZ, that would be the least objectionable suspected DNA sample I would expect. Good point. -
I don't know.... but he has a cute kitty.

do YOU know how to make a mayonnaise from scratch!?
Shotgun replied to virgin-burner's topic in The Bonfire
So.... What is your recipe? I've never made it myself. -
I use both, but I use Netflix WAY more than I use Amazon. I'm just on the 1-DVD-at-a-time, $9/month plan, and with the "instant watch" I find that it's more than enough. I simply don't have the time to watch everything that I want to watch on there, so I usually can't see any reason to pay to watch anything on Amazon. (I was buying "Breaking Bad" episodes for a while, but I finally thought screw it - I'll just wait til the DVD is available from Netflix. ;-)

Nice "friends."

Doesn't seem too odd to me. Most people probably prefer the large-sized inexpensive beer. Edit: But I can see why it might seem odd to a beer snob.

Where is the sauerkraut????!!!

It's not controversial. But to say that wives not treating husbands with respect is the only cause of family violence... Well, that's pretty absurd.

There are parts of West Texas where the speed limit is 80, but it's a long straight road with little traffic, and you can see for miles. But yeah, around Houston, the speed limit is 65 or 70. (I think it's 65???)

Will Christ keep you out of jail if you kill someone? Keep people from losing trust in you when you lie to them? Keep your spouse from leaving you when you cheat on her? Keep your body from deteriorating when you abuse it with drugs? Interestingly, most of the consequences that happen while we're alive are things that encourage us to generally be good people. And I would hope that if a god did exist, that it would be more concerned with us being good people than with us accepting it as our savior.

It appears that billvon is busy with more important things. And it didn't exactly ruin my day to be called a moron and a jackass from some young criminal.

This site has some good info: http://www.paddling.net/ I've got some sit-on-top kayaks right now, but I want to eventually get a sit-in touring kayak too. One of mine, a Cobra Explorer, I bought used (I think it was $500) from a guy who used it for fishing, and I think they're pretty popular for that. You may want a sit-in though, so that you don't get wet.

I did read all of it (and sorry if I misunderstood about cops vs. tickets). One cop pulled you over and explained why, and then let you go. Then you kept repeating your behavior, got pulled over again, and the "rude" cop gave you a ticket. If you're bothered by tickets, stop breaking the law. (Or if you think the speed limit is unreasonable on the roads where you're driving, then do something to get it changed.)

You're breaking the law and putting other people in danger (yes, speeding is linked to a large number of fatal accidents), and you don't like the people who are trying to stop you from doing so. Well, I guess that makes sense.

AZ Immigration Bill Invites Racial Profiling of US Citizens
Shotgun replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
I read through some of it (17 pages long - didn't have time to read it all), and I didn't see anything targeting "brown people." Mostly I was thinking, "Why is this not already a law?" Most of the reaction does seem hysterical to me. Probably the best argument I've heard against the bill is from some of the AZ cops. They are concerned that they may now be required to question the immigration status of victims in crimes, further victimizing the person, and I think that is a reasonable concern. -
a Shotgun wedding? Absolutely not! I was a virgin!
