  1. Wherever did you get the idea that lawrocket was saying people were worthless pieces of shit not deserving of life. I suggest you go back and re-read what was written, but this time read it with an open mind. Yes there are people on the other side of the fence who also have closed minds, but lawrocket is not one of them. Good grief ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. Good post lawrocket. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. No arguments here ... Corporations, Unions, Hollywood and the mainstream media are all examples of entities with huge influence in US politics. You will never stop the media from their influence, but it would be interesting to see if someone would ever try to reduce the influence Corporations and the Unions have on US politics. Up here in Canada (where we are pretty dysfunctional ourselves), we have eliminated the money Corporations and Unions can spend towards our federal politics. In Canada only individuals are allowed to contribute money to the Federal parties and that is capped at $1200 per year per person. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Never knew Jobs was running to be the Grand Poobah of the USA. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Come on Bill you can do better than that. If you knew anything about Canada you would know that it was Harper's fault. Do you people even know who Harper is? I know Canada is a "mean nothing just ignore them" kind of country to the USA. If you want to talk about Obama not honoring the existing trade agreements with his trading partners, then yes it will be Obama's fault. But the default person to blame in Canada right now is Harper. 6. Of course I have compassion for people who are battling cancer. My late father (who I was not all that close to since he divorced my mother soon after I was born) died a few years ago after a nasty battle with throat cancer and my uncle retired a few years ago and within months of retiring came down with brain cancer and lost his battle. I never saw him on his death bed, but I was told it was not pretty. Cancer is a horrible thing and I would much rather have someone take a sledgehammer to my skull than to go through what my father and uncle went through. However, don't you think we should stick to apples-and-apples comparisons here. That orange you have inserted into the conversation isn't really an orange it is a rather sour lemon. I have never injected drugs into my bloodstream (nor will I ever), and I am clean now (I could actually pass any piss/blood test you want to give me) but I have plenty of personal experience with soft and some not so soft drugs. You may think I have a hard stance against drugs right now, but my hard stance is based on personal experience as well as seeing others around me totally mess themselves up. I am sorry, but I have little sympathy for people who abuse themselves with drugs. They did this to themselves. I do however offer sympathy to the family of this girl. 7. Smoking weed is not that big of a deal. It's really no worse than drinking alcohol. Smoking too much weed day in day out for years on end can do damage to you, but drinking too much alcohol can do even more harm. So while smoking weed is not that big of a deal, doing harder drugs is a big deal and these people did this to themselves. I know plenty of people who fucked themselves up on cocaine and then went on to abuse even more harmful drugs. But it was their choice. I am waiting to see if this girl died because she chose to inject drugs into her bloodstream or perhaps it was something less sinister. Perhaps she ODed on ecstasy? It's not like ecstasy hasn't killed people before. Either way she chose to do this to herself. I feel sorry for her family, but sorry for not being politically correct here, I do not feel sorry for her if she did indeed overdose on drugs. 8. There are some hardcore Republicans that no doubt do not want the black Herman Cain representing them in the next general election. But this is mostly a media fueled frenzy to discredit Mr Cain. The media does not want Cain going up against Obama. Cain is a self made successful businessman. Heck he was even trained as a rocket scientist (or at least a ballistics expert). How many people can say that? No the media has an agenda and they will stop at nothing to fulfill this agenda of theirs. Thanks for stopping by Herman but Hollywood and the mainstream media do not like self made successful people like yourself. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. I would imagine an autopsy will be performed today or tomorrow but when would the results be made public via the media is anyone's guess. The squatters do not want the results to show she died of an overdose because they will lose what little support they have and of course the counter-protesters do want the results to show she did die of an overdose because that adds fuel to their arguments that these squatters are up to no good. Either way a young woman died this weekend, a weekend that was supposed to be fun for her (she had only planned on attending the protest for the weekend then was heading back to her home in Victoria). She likely was not one of the real world "Dawn of the Dead" druggies of Vancouver's East Side. To see a sample of one of these real world zombies, click here. Speaking of the media, this whole "Occupy" movement is media driven. The original "Occupy Wall Street" was likely still the largest gathering and even that, what was it a couple thousand people? More people congregated at your [insert your favorite high school football stadium here] to watch some football playoffs this weekend than showed up for their local "Occupy" protest. In my city of Calgary Alberta (home to over one million people) there are maybe 100 occupy squatters. So 0.0001% of the population is not happy. The media are blood thirsty parasites. They would throw their own mothers overboard into the shark infested water and then begin to chum the water if it meant engineering yet another story for them to cover. 10. She no longer needs to worry about those pesky job interviews after she decided to inject heroin (or whatever fish paralyzer it was) into her blood stream which caused her heart to stop. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Don't get me confused here as a supporter. She did this to herself (assuming of course that the autopsy confirms that she did indeed die from a drug overdose) and yes there are thousands more ready to follow in her footsteps. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. The Lower East Side of Vancouver is a pretty fucked up place. It is where the real world "Dawn of the Dead" zombies congregate to do their drugs. But this deceased girl was not from the Lower East Side. Turns out she came over on the ferry from Victoria BC to join in at the local "Occupy" protest. To my knowledge no official word has been given as to the cause of her death, but people are certain it was an drug overdose. Here is a picture of her taken from her facebook page. Hardly the picture of one of the Lower East Side zombies. News at eleven. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. A young woman in her 20s was found dead in her tent at the Occupy Vancouver event. There is no word yet as to the official cause of her death. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2011/11/05/bc-occupy-vancouver-death.html Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Clearly none of those down at the various "Occupy" movements are aware of the difference. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Everyone is kicking the Buffs @$$ these days. As a Buffs fan (only because I used to live in Boulder for four years and occasionally attended some of their games) this makes me sad. However I must assume your bro plays for USC? He must be pretty good to make that squad. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Sorry my bad. It must have been all the other threads the OP started about how unethical the banks were treating him for his previous poor financial decisions. So yes people are doing the right thing if they walk next door to the competition who might be offering better products and better services. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. If you are shallow enough to judge a person only by their looks, then that says a lot. Of course look who I am talking to. The guy who is constantly starting threads in the Bonfire putting down women who do not meet your runway model standards. I too like the hotties, but the moment they open their mouths and start spewing marxism, is the moment I know they have been indoctrinated. I have been at rock bottom (you think those of us who came out of school in the early 1980s to find no jobs had it easy), I could have easily turned into a street thug. But there was something in the back of my head that told me that going down the thug route was a dead end. The difference is my generation was not indoctrinated like this present generation has been. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. With all due respect you are whining that BoA wanted to charge you 2.5% instead of 1%. This just illustrates the generational gap between those of us who experienced the last big recession as young people coming out of school and finding huge hurdles to overcome (the recession of the early 1980s) and this current economic climate we find ourselves in. Not saying things aren't bad now, except those of us who had to deal with the recession of the early 1980s, we also had to deal with double digit interest rates sometimes as high as 20%. And here you are whining about 2.5% rates. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. It can be argued that hot girls can be indoctrinated easier than their not so hot counterparts. Did you watch the vimeo video near the bottom? when the hottie goes on about her beliefs in astrology and how it all relates to this occupy craze? Pass that last lid of acid man. Far out. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. I love it. World renowned musician Ashley MacIsaac takes on PETA protesters. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/story/2011/11/04/wdr-macisaac-peta.html I am a proud member of PETA. 22. Been there, done that. You'll survive. Just remember one thing, it's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than to be in the air wishing you were on the ground. In other words, don't jump in sketchy weather. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. More political correct insanity. An Ottawa School Board has decided to cancel a Remembrance Day ceremony where World War II, Korean War and Afghan War veterans would get together with some high school students to honor the men and women who died to keep us free. So why was this Remembrance Day ceremony cancelled? Because the veterans were planning on bringing replica guns (and other military hardware) to the ceremony and the school board has adopted a hardline policy that absolutely no guns are allowed on school property. http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/talking-remembrance-and-registry/1255398253001#1255390545001 http://www.ottawasun.com/2011/11/01/remembrance-symposium-cancellation-irks-vet Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Detroit is an Eastern city who plays in the Western Conference. It is a little messed up, but if you put Detroit in the East and put some team such as Winterpeg in the West, then NHL fans would lose the Hawks/Wings and Blues/Wings rivalries. So as messed up as it is, keeping some traditional rivalries alive is a good thing for the sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
