  1. Canada only contributes about 2% of all the world's GHGs and Alberta home to the ever so hated Oil Sands by Lefties is not even remotely close to being the biggest emitter of GHGs in Canada (look to the coal fueled power plants or millions and millions of cars in Toronto and Montreal if you want to see who is emitting most of the GHGs). But never forget ... Blame Canada, Blame Canada The Leftist media is going bananas with the news that the Conservatives have pulled Canada out of this wealth transfer scheme. Funny, the Liberals who signed on to Kyoto did absolutely nothing towards cutting back the GHGs for the 8 years that they were in power after signing the accord. But don't let facts get in the way of your arguments. What a joke Kyoto was. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. The last thing we need is Bigger Governments. We already have too many unionized public sectors people who spend their entire day surfing the internet telling the world how Big Government is the solution to all our problems if we only forever eliminated those pesky entities called corporations from the world landscape. We don't need more of the same. Now if you will excuse me, I must head off to work now. Someone has to pay for all those "anti-business" unionized government workers and their promises of socialist bliss under their nanny state. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Those early Buccaneers? like their first two seasons in the league where they lost virtually every game? Haha ... it wasn't just the kicker who blew it. The entire team blew. I am not a fan of icing the kicker since it already turns the last two minutes of the game into a long affair. But it is what it is and the rules allow it. I always laugh when the time out is called at the very last second where the kick was made anyway and missed (even though it didn't count). Then after the time out, the kicker makes the kick to win the game after being so called "iced" by the other team. These guys are supposed to be pros. Time outs are not supposed to effect them. Of course they are human mistakes are made. Just remember "Keep the Laces Out". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. The question should be: "What was the Obama administration up to sending a drone into Iran"? When Obama told the world "Yes we can", what he meant was "Yes we will be just like the other guys". Just don't expect the Leftist media to slam Obama since they invented him to be our Messiah our Superhero Savior of the Universe. However some of us don't need Messiahs and certainly not Messiah politicians. They all suck ... every last one of them. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Yet another come back victory (Denver 13 - Chicago 10 in OT) to add more fuel to the Tebow Haters Club. John Elway better watch out as Tim is catching up with the come back victories. Of course Elway was usually good for all 4 quarters he played. Someone needs to make Tebow think the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters are all 4th quarters. 6. There you go with your inheritance tax increases again. You may think that giving government more money is the solution to all the world's problems, but it rarely is. There is a big kerfuffle going on in Canada these last couple of weeks with the Leftist media leading the charge. In Canada we have the "Indian Act" where billions and billions of tax payers money each year is sent to some 600+ or so Indian reservations spread out across the land and all Natives who live on these reservations are supposedly allowed to live without having to work and do not need to pay one red cent of tax back to the country. Sounds like the socialist's wet dream where people are given everything they could possibly need for free. But yet many of the natives are living in 3rd world poverty conditions. How could this be? We the tax payers send them billions and billions of free money every year. But what is happening is the Indian Leadership are poorly managing this money and in many cases skimming off of the top making sure those around them are living the easy life while the people below them are dirt poor. When the Indians are told that 3rd parties must now come in to the reserves to perform audits to account for where the money has gone, the reaction from the Indians has been "You do that and there will be civil disobedience, no just give us more money". Of course the Leftist media is demanding more money to be given to the Indians with no new calls for accountability. WTF ... giving money to the government (in this case the local Indian governments) has not solved the poverty problems and Canada is too spineless to call the Indians out on their calls for civil disobedience since everyone knows the Indians are armed to the teeth where they are more powerful than the police and the army. It is a big joke. Throwing more money at a problem without accountability just creates more problems. Big Government is not the solution. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Not saying they are not fun (LOL ... I never even tried them), but one of the things I don't like about Ski Blades is this perception I have that you skid your turns as opposed to carving your turns and nothing destroys a slope faster than Skidders (people still learning to Two Plank as well as learning to Knuckle Drag are Skidders). If you know what to look for it is easy to observe an accomplished Two Planker as well as an accomplished Knuckle Dragger carving their turns. But that is just me being a "Snow Snob". The bottom line is "Did you have fun and did you stay safe". If you answered "Yes" then it does not matter if you are a Two Planker, a Knuckle Dragger or a Blader. 8. My comments were in reference to navigating the Blacks and Double Blacks. Of course not every Black and Double Black is created equal. Some are deemed expert trails because they are steep with many natural hazards and some are deemed expert simply because they are steep with lots of traffic and they are never groomed where moguls develop and stay as moguls all year round. Two Plankers have an easier time in the moguls than Knuckle Draggers and it's easy to spot a mogul field that was created by accomplished Two Plankers versus a mogul field created by others (Winter Park's "Mary Jane" mogul fields in CO are prime examples of mogul fields created by accomplished Two Plankers). So in that regard my original comments were wrong. I guess I should have been more specific. Black and Double Black trails void of large mogul fields are often easier to navigate for the Knuckle Draggers. A few years back I was with a group running the trees in Steamboat Springs where the chewed up powder had turned to crud. There was myself and another accomplished Two Planker as well as a group of Knuckle Draggers who had not been riding the trails as long as we had. But the Knuckle Draggers were able to power through the crud easier than the Two Plankers. It was a fun day by all, but at the end of the day the Two Plankers had expended a lot more energy getting through the crud in the trees than our Knuckle Dragging counterparts. I guess I should have said there are parts of the mountain where the Two Plankers have the advantage and other parts where the Knuckle Draggers have the advantage. That would be more accurate than saying one is easier than the other. My bad. At Steamboat Springs the Two Plankers in our group always had to wait for the Knuckle Draggers to catch up whenever we traversed laterally from one part of the mountain to another. 9. Capitalism is far from perfect, but I have to laugh at all those people who call for equality. Since when in human history has there ever been equality? Equality did not exist in the stone age and it did not ever occur at anytime during our human evolution. So why do people think it will happen now? Nature is not equal. In nature the strong eat the weak. The planet will continue to evolve long after humans are gone. Regardless of what the "Climate Change" religious nut cases say, life on this planet will continue to evolve for many billions of years up until that big ball in the sky 93 million miles from us burns up. I don't think we will see it in my lifetime (I will be lucky to get 30 more years on this planet), but I am convinced the way academia is working towards indoctrinating future generations that Global Communism all in the name of saving the world from "Climate Change" is coming. Yes comrade soon we will all be equal, equally screwed. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. You could confiscate all the wealth in the USA and it would barely pay for one year of the US government's spending in 2011. This is fine and dandy for paying for the government's spending on one year, but what happens in year two or so on moving forward when there is no more wealth to confiscate. Fast forward to the 2:44 mark of the video referenced below if you want to skip a short Michael Moore speech which is rich on hypocrisy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=661pi6K-8WQ Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. LOL ... nice one. Hockey pucks don't have stitches, but I can totally believe you when you say it left stitch marks on your bicep. I once blocked a hard hockey slap shot on my forearm. It was a painful bruise with swelling and all. It's not like my whole arm turned black or anything, but for many years you could see a narrow white crease on my forearm which made me think the puck hit me at an angle. It's gone now, but the crease was there for a good 10 years or so. Edited to add: actually if you look hard enough the crease is still there. 12. I never did take a picture, but the worst bruise I ever had has from a torn hamstring muscle. Back in a 2006 swoop competition I lost my lift near the end of the curved speed course and instead of taking a donut for the round I attempted to run out the back of the course. Problem was my ground speed was faster than my body could handle and I instantly tore the hamstring muscle. The entire back of my right thigh turned black within 24-48 hours of the injury. It's a good thing the body can heal itself because I would be a real mess if it didn't. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. I am not talking about when snowboarders are learning to be "Knuckle Draggers". Obviously there are plenty of dark stains being left on the trails when people are "Knuckle Dragger" wannabees. I am referring to once they have plenty of calluses already built up on their butts and are trying to progress to the harder slopes. In my opinion it is much more challenging for "Two Plankers" to actually do a good job navigating the Black and Double Black trails than it is for "Knuckle Draggers" who are past the butt smear phase. But what would a former ski patroller from a large resort such as "Lake Louise" know about how people use the trails and where the accidents are and where they are not. It's not like we didn't have a reason to rename the "Juniper Jungle" trail to the "Juniper Death Pitch" for a reason. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. There is a short gay reference in this commercial, but it is more of a "Pro Christianity" commercial than it is anything else. Of course once Perry had his "My bad" brain fart during one of the debates, I assumed he was no longer a serious player for being the Elephant's new Grand Poobah. So I am not sure why you are so obsessed about the man. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Skier ... I used to ski patrol at a major resort (Lake Louise) and I did some racing (nothing hardcore, just club level stuff). I got pretty good at Giant Slalom, but could never get the hang of slalom which is now a case of running at the gates and bashing them down with your poles or your shins. While I prefer skiing, I do believe it does not take as many years for a snowboarder to be able to ride the Black and Double Black trails as it takes a skier. Not saying snowboarding is easy, but being able to run the hard stuff takes more effort and more experience when you have two boards versus one. 16. Do you hate the Waltons so much because they acted like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp7_u0kcQRo or maybe your hate for the Waltons runs deeper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1YU1tTet24 Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. There is another website I browse similar to this DZ.COM site, except this other site is pretty much the best place to go for North American owners of a certain high end German automobile maker. I don't consider myself a poor person in this world. Compared to the real poor people, I am rich. But compared to many of the people of this other website, I am definitely less affluent than they are. Today I discovered one of the users of this other website is a professional baseball pitcher with the Anaheim Angels. If I dedicated more time in my youth to being better at a certain sports, maybe I too could have become a professional athlete who makes millions. Or I could simply be like the OP of this thread (or like all the other "Occupy" wankers) and just say "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie, I want your stuff". Don't like WalMart? Isn't it easier to just NOT shop at WalMart? If enough people stopped shopping there don't you think they might be forced into changing their ways. Whoever told you life would be easy, was clearly lying to you. BTW this last comment was generic. It was not directed at nanook. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  19. I could have sworn when I opened this thread this morning prior to heading off to work that the topic was about a bunch of zipperheads who do not possess the skill to drive their high performance automobiles at the limit, nor did they have the judgment to know not to push themselves while on the public roads. But while I was off at work I see the thread morphed into yet another minimum wage debate. Too funny. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. If you want to rail on morons who do not possess the appropriate driving skills to be driving high performance automobiles near their limits on the public roads, then I will join in with you. The only place driving a high performance car near it's limits should be tolerated is on the race track. But if this is yet another one of your "I hate the 1%, we must confiscate all their possessions" rants, you bore me to death with your communist vision on the world. 22. Since Oklahoma State did not play any SEC teams and did not play any common opponents, you can not say this with 100% confidence. How do you know that the Cowboys could not hang with LSU when there is little to compare with? You can't. Of course with all that said, I would be shocked if Oklahoma State gets the nod over Alabama. I am sure the BCS will choose the Tide to play the Tigers for all the marbles. There is just too much bias (not saying the bias is wrong) for the SEC teams over every other conference. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. The vast majority of the job interviews I have ever been through (trust me I have been through a lot), I am hardly ever asked about "hobbies". Of course in my field (software development) if I am ever asked about my hobbies, what they really want to know is "what open source projects do I work on" and "what white papers have I published". A few years ago I was really into the swooping scene and the topic of "hobbies" did come up and I mistakenly told them that I was a competitive swooper. Guess what ... I did NOT get the job. There a plenty of activities that can kill you in life. I used to ski patrol at Lake Louise back in the 1990s and we would have several deaths per season at this major ski resort. Is telling your employer that you love to ski mean that you may die one day skiing? How about dying on the way to the ski resort? It happens. Skydiving is NOT a safe activity. Stay in the sport long enough and you will have dead friends and "knock on wood" you too will have your share of close calls. If I tell my work colleagues about skydiving, I tell them after I am in the door. Then I tell them that the gear is remarkably reliable (which it is). It's just too bad that the human using this remarkably reliable gear is not as reliable. Oh and while the majority of skydivers are young. There are plenty of 50+ year old skydivers out there. So it's not a juvenile activity. I'm not 50 ... yet. But I am closer to 50 that I am to 20. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. When it comes to the New Testament for Christians, the Old Testament for Jews or the Koran for Muslims, either every word written in them is 100% true or they are pure fiction. Personally I believe all three books are "Bat Shit Crazy" fiction. The Universe and it's origin is beyond my comprehension, hence the reason why I am agnostic. There may or may not be a God(s) creator of the Universe. But if one exists I am pretty confident that it is nothing like the creator of these three major religions that follow those "Bat Shit CrazY' texts. As I said either every word written in these texts is 100% true, or they are just pure fiction. There is no place for selective interpretation of what "talking to a snake" meant. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. As an agnostic time after time I am reminded that there is not one single political party in my home of Canada as well as in the USA that represents someone like myself. Yes I am a fiscal conservative so I throw up every time one of the Left leaning socialist parties say they represent my views (in Canada 4 of the 5 major parties all lean left, some more than others). But when the other politicians break into their "Bat Shit Crazy" talk about their religious beliefs, my eyes just gloss over. You would think that enough non-religious people who believe in fiscal responsibility could band together. But for some reason they don't or they can't. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
