Dad arrested after daughter draws picture of gun
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
You don't know what a "Fabian Socialist" is? That's too bad because you are surrounded by them. In fact I am going to say you are one of them. Guns don't kill people, people kill people and as long as the gun is properly secured where the gun and ammunition are locked up (as per the current laws of the land) there is no threat whatsoever to having a firearm in the house, even when children live in the home. PS: I don't even own a firearm but I guess that time I spent long ago in the military taught me a healthy respect and understanding of firearms. I am glad there is at least one sane mine in Ontario. Now if skypuppy could only knock some sense into many of the others from that province. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Ian ... we know each other a bit. I have no issues with you. I think you are a smart fellow. But the other day you questioned me and went so far as to say I was doing nothing but ranting, saying that nobody thought this arrest of this father was a good thing. But unfortunately you are on the outside. Fabian Socialism does exist in the USA, but you are just not aware of how strong it is in certain parts of Canada (ie: where this incident took place). You want to know who thinks nothing wrong happened in this incident, and says if the same thing happened tomorrow and they would be calling the police again. The school's superintendent thinks this was exactly the right thing to do and if another pre-school child was to draw a gun and tell their teacher "It's my daddy, he is protecting us from bad guys and monsters". This same school superintendent will be calling the police. Don't believe me ... watch this (and pay extra special close attention to what he says at the 0:24 second mark): http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/gregg-bereznick-chat/1477038215001/page/3 or this http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/the-danger-of-state-parenting/1479276792001/page/2 or this http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/co-parenting/1479535558001 Since when are teachers "co-parents"? Do the teachers pay the parents half the money that is required to raise the child for their "co-parenting"? How about the teacher handing over half of their salary for "co-educating" the child. Anniversary of Branch Davidian's "MURDER" Seige
CanuckInUSA replied to captain1976's topic in Speakers Corner
I am not sure how I feel about the Branch Davidians (for sure it was sad that 20 or so children died when the so called adults on both sides of the fence acted like children). But when I found out what really happened at Ruby Ridge with the Weaver family versus what the mainstream media fed us back in the day in the early 1990s, it made me really mad. I don't trust the mainstream media. You really do need to seek multiple sources from all different angles for your news these days. Society is being manipulated by the elites and their media. There are people in Wyoming? I used to think Montana was a pretty barren place, but that was before I set foot in Wyoming. Okay there are people in Cheyenne and Laramie (they might as well join Colorado) and the Northwest corner of the state around Yellowstone and the Tetons is to die for gorgeous. But other than that, there is more wildlife in Wyoming than humans. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I believe all Western Democracy's are in deep trouble. In a democracy the wishes of the majority are supposed to be honored. But what happens when the majority has lost their sense of sanity and continue to demand special interest programs which are just not sustainable and end up bankrupting the society it is supposed to service? It does not matter if we are talking about a demographic that demands their government supplied "nanny state" where everything we need in life is given to us on a silver platter, or if another demographic is demanding massive military spending. Every where you look you see governments spending money that they do not have and who is responsible for this spending. Yes politicians need to take a lot of blame ever since they discovered spending equals votes equals power. But we the people are mainly to blame, because we the people are incapable of seeing we are living in societies that can not be sustained. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Danica Patrick survives violent crash unhurt
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in The Bonfire
Point taken, you would probably poke yourself in the eye after the airbag thrusts your arms into your face if you did exactly what Danica did. In a passenger car, lowering your arms to your side would be a better option (keeping in mind this is a split second decision once you have realized you are going to collide with something). I will always always always wear my seat belt. But sometimes I question airbags. Seems like just another attempt by auto industry to make you think you are safe. Don't ever ride with anything on your lap in an airbag equipped vehicle as that could cause great harm if the airbag ever fires. I would not need an airbag if I had a better seat in my car (like a racing seat) and a better seat belt (like a 6 point racing harness) where I am not moving whatsoever in a collision. But for some dumb reason using a harness on the public roads is deemed unsafe and illegal. Go figure. Plus if such a violent collision were to occur where the steering column is thrust into your chest, I doubt you were going to survive the crash anyway (with or without an airbag). CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Did you read the story behind this arrest? It happened in Kitchener Ontario. Ontario is presently ruled by a Fabian Socialist, Liberal Dalton McGuinty. By the way maybe you should read up on what a stellar job Mr McGuinty has done to the province since taking power 8+ years ago and then come back here with a straight face and tell us how great Liberals are. What a fucking joke ... do you have any idea what is going on up here? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Dad arrested after daughter draws picture of gun
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
I see you have not been paying much attention to what really is going on up here. Yes Canada's present Federal government is controlled by the Conservatives but if you had paid any attention to the history of Bill C-391 (the bill to get rid of the Long Gun Registry) it continues to be met with resistance from not only the Leftist politicians but also from the consensus mainstream media. And that bill only deals with getting rid of the Long Gun Registry. Nothing else in C-68 would change meaning the police will still have the right to search your home without a warrant and for some dumb reason some of you continue to insist that the Liberal Party of Canada did NOT pass this draconian gun control law of theirs. As far as Alberta being controlled by a Conservative government, that is laughable and another example of how you really are not paying attention and/or allowing the consensus mainstream media to feed you lies and you buy everything that they tell you as the truth. The present Alberta "Progressive Conservative Party" is conservative in name only. They are the highest per-capita spending Provincial government in the entire country and the new premier Allison Redford (not elected by the people of Alberta, but instead installed as premier by an internal party leadership convention) bought herself into power with a $107 million bribe to the Alberta Teachers Union. No the only Conservative political entity in Alberta is the Wildrose Party. But we will need to wait for the next election (a few months from now) to see if the people of Alberta want their high spending (looks more like a Liberal) PC Party that gives money to the Teachers Union in exchange for their support or whether or not they will want to go back to their conservative roots and elect the Wildrose. Time will tell. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
Sounds like you are a little misinformed since it was the "Liberal Party of Canada" who introduced and passed Bill C-68 and not some other political entity as you seem to want to allege. However I will be interested to hear your spin on how Liberals didn't actually pass this law and on how Liberals are not on record telling the world how they believe guns should only be in the possession of the police and the military and your spin on how the Liberals have not publicly stated that the whole idea behind their gun control laws was not to reduce crime but instead was to socially engineer the entire country into the Fabian Socialist ideology. Dad arrested after daughter draws picture of gun
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
I am not sure what has me more outraged. The fact that I now live in a society where academics with a long history of Leftist activism believe they have the right to call the police and the result is having the parents of their students arrested when one of their pre-school students draws a picture the academic does not agree with, or outraged that I live in a society where the mainstream consensus media ignores such an event in their so called news stories. Browse any of Canada's mainstream news source today and you will see plenty of stories about Bill C-30 (a proposed law that would give police extra powers to monitor internet activity). I do NOT agree with Bill C-30. I think if the police want to search someone's computer and/or internet server logs they first need to obtain a warrant (something Bill C-30 would allow them to by pass). But as bad as Bill C-30 is, Bill C-68 (the Liberals gun control laws) are just as bad as that law allows the police to enter anyone's home without a search warrant when some sort of firearms violation is suspected. You will hear plenty of chatter from the consensus mainstream media about how draconian Bill C-30 is, but not a peep from the same media concerning the lack of a need for a search warrant under Bill C-68. If this outrage makes makes me a mindless ranter to the mods here at the DorkZone then so be it. Like anything that happens here really matters. I doubt very much in the vast majority of cases people ever change their opinions on things read and written here in the SC. Of course (it did not happen over night) my present views on firearms versus views I had before I came to the DorkZone can be directly attributed to certain debates I may have had here. I won't say who said it, or what they said. But one day one of the pro-gun people said something to me that made me take notice and my views on firearms were forever changed. Go to anyone of Canada's Leftist media sources and show me a link to this story. CBC CTV Global Globe and Mail Toronto Star There are none. The main stream consensus media's silence on this story speaks volumes towards their beliefs that the gun control law (Bill C-68) that the Fabian Socialist Liberal Party of Canada passed giving the police the ability to search someone's home without a warrant is perfectly acceptable. Without Bill C-68 this never would have happened. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Only in Canada ... can the Fabian Socialist Liberals believe it is perfectly acceptable for a teacher to call family services who proceed to call the police who proceed to harass a family at their home, searching it without a warrant and proceeding to arrest the father all because a little 4 year old girl drew a picture with her crayons at school of a man holding a gun. When the teacher asked the little girl who the man was the little girl responded "It's my daddy protecting us from the bad guys and the monsters". http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/02/24/ont-dad-arrested-after-daughter-draws-picture-of-gun-reports You would think in a rational society, if the teacher was really concerned about a picture a 4 year old drew, they would contact the parents directly to have an adult to adult discussion. Having the police raid the family home and arrest the father for a picture a 4 year old drew was over the top. But I guess I just have not spent enough time down at the "Big Red Tent" consuming their Red koolaid while they recited passages from their "Big Red Book" of Fabian Socialist lies to me. Children be extra careful what you draw these days. If you draw something that goes against the indoctrination efforts of the Fabian Socialists, they will get the police to visit your home and arrest your parents. Danica Patrick survives violent crash unhurt
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in The Bonfire
Danica Patrick was hit yesterday in the closing lap of a NASCAR race and was then sent hard into a wall for a violent crash (she was unhurt). I am not posting this because someone else hit Danica (meaning the crash was not her fault), I am not posting this because she is Danica (queue up the Danica haters). No I am posting this because people need to watch what she does with her arms/hands moments prior to hitting the wall (fast forward to about the 2:30 mark in the video). Remember what she did if you ever find yourself about to hit something while driving. You could possibly save yourself from an extra injury if you are in a non-fatal accident. Yes modern race car drivers use 6 point harnesses with HANS devices to keep themselves relatively safe when they crash, something people on the public roads do not have access to. But she also showed a lot of experience knowing what to do with her arms and her hands moments before impact. Rumor has it that a woman who wears a size 8 was already cast for a role on the show, so naturally our Shah would not be seen dead within 100 meters of a woman who is a size 8. But as I said, it's only a rumor. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It's a good video (and yes not the first time I have seen it) but as long as a certain Spaniard drives for Maranello I am sorry the Italian made donkey carts just do not excite me. Last summer I did get a "ride along" at my local track in a F430 and it was a sweet experience. The fellow even offered to let me try his Italian donkey cart as I wanted to show him a more efficient way to get through the chicane. But I don't have 200k lying around so I was forced to regretfully turn down the chance to drive his Italian donkey cart and showed him how to take the chicane in my own car. It's okay though, I consume the kool aid from a certain German automaker and I am sure there is no shortage of people who despise my German made donkey cart for [insert whatever reason(s) here]. Hockey is a tough sport. I have suffered far more hockey injures than all other sports that I have participated in combined. Of course I played more hockey than any other sports combined. haha ... But it's still a tough sport. Thank god I was wearing a face mask that day that I was accidentally kicked in the face with a goalie skate. Without a doubt the players of the modern era are bigger, faster, stronger and are in much better condition. Heck one of the 1970s iconic "best" players used to smoke cigarettes in the dressing room. However with all that said, I was lucky enough to see Gretzky play live in the 1980s when he was in his prime and he played a style of the game that no other players could emulate. Not even Lemieux. Gretzky had a way of knowing where to be on the ice at just the right moment and you have to sit the stands to know what I speak of. The TV cameras are too busy following the puck to show how someone like Gretzky knew where to be at the right moment. Gretzky was more than just an offensive player. He had this spider sense that nobody else had. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Here in socialist Canuckistan I have to pay extra for Fox News and well it's just not worth paying an extra $20 a month to the cable company for that station. Funny thing though on the evening of Monday February 13th not only did I not watch Fox, but I didn't watch any of these others either. I did spend 2 hours in front of the boob tube on Monday evening and I was watching two documentaries on the NFL Network. I watched a one hour documentary on "Sweetness" Walter Payton (arguably the best runningback to ever play the game). And the second hour was watching another documentary about former Eagles linemen "Reggie White and Jerome Brown". In a nation of well over 300,000,000 people having only 3,292,000 watching your TV show isn't something to be bragging about. In fact I wonder if more people were watching these two documentaries on the NFL Network. PS: I didn't know Reggie White had passed away until last night. It was a bit of a shocker. But then I looked at the day he died "December 26th, 2004" and look back to what I was doing at the time "Skydiving at Eloy during one of their Christmas Boggies", and it can easily be understood why I missed the news story about Reggie's passing. RIP big fella. He was a monster on the football field, but a humanitarian off of it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You are 100% correct in saying that many people have worked their butts off for what they have today. I don't come from a wealthy family. I wouldn't call my family poor, but we were definitely not wealthy. I didn't start driving until I was 21 since I could not afford a car when I was younger. But a funny thing has happened over the years. My brother lives in a million+ dollar home with his wife. My home is worth at least 400k and I am mortgage free. Neither my brother nor myself have earn a penny in inheritance nor will we be getting any in the years to come. Funny how people who do not come from wealth can in one generation still be living in reasonable affluence. How did we do it? We worked for it. Inheritance for some has always been around and always will. If someone is lucky enough to be born into a rich family who is not dumb enough to blow away all of their wealth in one generation then they themselves will have some of their family's wealth passed on down to them when the time comes. Inheritance does not need to be a dirty word. That is unless you happen to be a staunch believer in state controlled wealth redistribution. Of course we could just throw the present system away and adopt a system where the government controls all aspects of our lives from the cradle to the grave, where the government seizes the assets from those who have worked in their lives to pay for the wealth redistributed nanny state. I mean after all, the government has an astonishing track record for efficiency don't they. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The Steel Curtain of the 1970s was awesome, the Giants of the late 1980s defense was also awesome and the Ravens defense of 2000/2001 was also awesome. But I think you are correct. That 1985/1986 Bears defense was just dominant and probably the best ever. Still not sure how the Dolphins beat the Bears during the '85 regular season, but they did.
