Iranian protest leads to embassy incursion
CanuckInUSA replied to shah269's topic in Speakers Corner
Nice sanitized version of events. They are doing more than just "throwing around papers and replacing the British flag with an Iranian one". It's not quite 1979 yet, but it's still early. http://www.cbc.ca/photos/galleries/1504/1504_24048_web_8column.jpg http://www.cbc.ca/photos/galleries/1504/1504_24049_web_8column.jpg http://www.cbc.ca/photos/galleries/1504/1504_24050_web_8column.jpg http://www.cbc.ca/photos/galleries/1504/1504_24051_web_8column.jpg http://www.cbc.ca/photos/galleries/1504/1504_24073_web_8column.jpg Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
So Tell Me Again About "Peaceful" Protests

Yes we need to crack the skulls of those low life Girl Guides. Because if we do not get them now while they are young, they will grow up into this. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
I caught the 4th quarter + OT of yesterday's Broncos/Chargers game and as a Broncos fan I am happy that Tebow was able to bring the team back to tie the game late in the 4th quarter and send it into OT. And then equally happy to see Tebow help the team win the game. But the guy is one dimensional, at least at this stage of his career. If he does not become a better passer I really don't see him staying in the league for the long haul. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What a fine example of American Patriotism.
CanuckInUSA replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
Please tell me exactly why is Obama good for business? What businesses did Obama help create? What businesses did Obama take public? What are Obama's business qualifications? Why should businesses trust Obama when Obama has no experience in the business world? How many more trade agreements with America's existing trade partners is Obama planning on breaking? I am talk about you starting a company, not working for the Fortune 500 company that has made you a wealthy person. You are obviously a Big Labor supporter. So why don't you open up your own business, go on a massive hiring spree, making sure all employees belong to a union, make sure that they get full benefits, make sure they all receive tons of time off, make sure they can all retire early with your fully funded pension and make sure even the lowest skilled employee is making a massive salary. You are constantly going on about how this needs to be the minimum for each and every business. So go show us how it is done. You obviously think it is easy to do, so show us Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

There are tons of businesses that feel the same way as this fellow does. They are just not as vocal as he is. It's no secret that business lack confidence in Obama. Why do you think hardly anyone is hiring. I hope you realize businesses are not in business to employ people. Businesses are in business to make money. Employment is just a by-product. I know it's hard for a Pro-Labor person to accept this, but it is what it is. However if you feel you can do better, there is nothing stopping you from opening up a business, going on a massive hiring binge, making sure all your workers are unionized, making sure you give them all generous benefits, tons of time off, early retirement and make sure even the lowest skilled workers are paid high salaries. If you think you can show American business's how it's done, have at it. Knock yourself out. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Not sure where you get your "facts" but you might want to re-evaluate your source(s). The military still rules in Egypt. Why do you think the Egyptians are back demonstrating this week? Are you even aware that the Egyptians are demonstrating right now? Which includes many deaths at the hands of Egypt's military. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Pregnant Woman Miscarries After Being Sprayed With Pepper Spray..
CanuckInUSA replied to ShcShc11's topic in Speakers Corner
Agreed ... "Innocent until proven guilty" needs to apply to not only the police but also to Ms Fox. It remains to be seen if the police did indeed attack Ms Fox (video evidence would help, of course if it did exist you would think it would have surfaced by now). Secondly Ms Fox is possibly playing a dangerous game of slander. How can you be 3 months pregnant in September during your first encounter with the police and then still be 3 months pregnant in November when she alleges the police caused her miscarriage. After what happened to Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver airport back in 2007 and how the RCMP attempted to cover it up, I do not believe the first things I am told by the police. However we can not have people running around laying false accusations at law enforcement personal. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

ROFLMAO ... you just love to stereotype don't you. Nothing short of me saying "I want to see the cops crack some skulls" will make you happy. I got news for you, it's not going to happen. The world is shades of grey not black and white. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Tell us how you really feel. I know I have flirted with my own bans hurling PAs at others, but since the moderators appear to be AWOL at this moment, I have a little reading I think you should catch up on. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1580205;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread PS: I was not aware that Kennedy is or is not a police officer (what you like to refer to as a Pig). The Police are not my favorite people as yes there are some bad apples who wear the badge. But they have an extremely difficult job. I am sure if we non-police officers walked a mile in their shoes we might have a better understanding of them. If you have evidence of police misconduct like this, then yes by all means it needs to be presented to the world. But the police have been quite patient towards this whole "Occupy" movement. After all there is a big difference to what is happening across North America versus what is happening in a place like Syria right now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

"Innocent until proven guilty" must be applied to everyone. Of course as more information comes out, it appears that Jennifer Fox the alleged victim in this story is a person with questionable mental health. I hope for her sake the good people of Washington State get her this help before she sets out to slander more people. Clearly being allowed to be influenced by her "Occupy" peers is not giving her this help she appears to need. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

CanuckInUSA replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Any nastiness in this thread could not have been avoided if it was approached another way. If it said "If you only relied on Fox News, then you might not be getting the complete picture". Anyone who relies on only one news source is setting themselves up to be manipulated. This is true if this one news source is Fox News or any other news source. Heck if I need to know how all the rich and famous celebrities view world/domestic events everyone and their dog knows CNN (The Celebrity News Network) is just dying to give you 24/7 coverage about their beloved opinionated pals. As I said, all references to the US naval base in Australia was pure speculation on my part and it appears that my speculation turned out to be incorrect. If you believe the official explanation, "The Bird" was directed to a member of the off camera Russian REN-TV crew and Ms Limanova has apparently been sent to the penalty box for her misconduct. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/11/25/russian-newscaster-pulled-from-tv-after-middle-finger-during-obama-story/ Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Yes the Egyptian people are not happy their current government ruled by the military has picked a PM for them from someone who served under Hosni Mubarak. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2011/11/25/egypt-government-protest.html http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/thousands-of-egyptians-rally-against-mubarak-era-pm/article2249050/ http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/11/25/thousands-of-protesters-pack-tahrir-square-for-last-chance-friday/ three different news sources all saying pretty much the same thing. I am the one who speculated it was related to the new Australian naval base. My friend only said something about a military base. Either way, everywhere you look the video has been pulled YouTube. Someone is doing some censoring. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Oh my another arrogant Liberal. Surprise surprise. Yes ... replacing one military dictator with many military dictators is NOT overthrowing their government. CanuckInUSA replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you one of those Liberals who answered that the Egyptians successfully overthrew their government in the Fairleigh Dickinson University survey referenced in the URL you posted? Because anyone who has been paying attention to Egypt this week would know that a new round of protests has occurred resulting in at least 41 deaths. Hosni Mubarak may have stepped down but Egypt's military still rules that nation like they have for years and it remains to be seen if their promised elections can be carried out without further violence and further deaths. Seems to me you are not as informed as you think you are. What a fucking joke. Liberal arrogance strikes again. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
You are aware that: 1) Not everyone agreed with the bank bailouts. and ... wait for it ... 2) The US tax payers actually made a small amount of money once the banks paid back the money that was given to them in 2008. Personally I think risk should be returned to the business world so that banks, or auto makers, or alternate energy companies know there are consequences for their poor business decisions. But I am getting off topic here. Obviously the Shah feels that the evil bankers are to blame for all the world's problems and since there is an agenda to this thread, we must slam the evil bankers while ignoring everyone else who is doing the same damn thing.
