Sorry of this is a re-post. Someone sent me this video URL and it is pretty awesome what some people out there in the world are doing. I got a real kick (pardon the pun) from those who were playing foot volleyball. Enjoy all that life has to offer ... http://www.youtube.com/v/EEu42L0ufBY&rel=0&hl=en_US Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Chevy volt real cost 250k to tax payers
CanuckInUSA replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
$100 a gallon? Wherever did you get that number? Maybe when Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama starts a war with Iran where nothing is allowed to sail out of the "Straight of Hormuz" would we see significantly higher prices at the pumps than we are seeing today. But a $100/gallon? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

I never said there was cheap oil. Yes the world is running short on cheap easy to access oil. But the world will not be running out of oil anytime soon. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

There is enough oil in Western Canada to power the entire world for the next century and Western Canada is only #2 when it comes to the known world oil reserves. The world will not be running out of oil anytime soon. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Are you ready to give up swooping to save the future generations? Last time I checked skydiving jump planes required oil to get their human cargo into the sky. My point speaking about oil in Alberta (oh and Saskatchewan also has oil) wasn't about pushing this onto the backs of future generations. it was to stop this nonsense that some want to claim that the world is running out of oil. The world will have plenty of oil for the next century. But if you are ready to give up something that is dear to your heart to save the generation that will occupy this planet 100+ years from now, you can start anytime you want. You obviously have never heard of Alberta. If you knew anything about your neighbor, your would know Alberta has the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world and at today's production levels, there is enough oil here to last well over 100 years (some estimates put it at 170 years, but let's call it an even century to be safe). Yes in 100+ years from now, oil will begin to become scarce. But we will all be long dead before this happens. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

The longest drive I have ever made was from Denver Colorado to the Alberta/Montana border at Sweetgrass MT (which took about 16 hours if memory serves me correct) where I applied for a new TN-1 work visa and immediately turned around and headed back towards Colorado. I didn't make it back to Denver in one stop. I made it to Billings MT where I slept for a few hours before completing the trip back to CO the next day. I believe I drove about 22+ hours straight that day, not counting the 30 minutes I spent at the border getting the new work visa. Ha ha ... I had NHL hockey tickets for a Saturday night Avs hockey game and NFL football tickets for a Broncos game on Sunday, hence the need to make the trip up to Canada and back to Colorado as fast as possible. But in my last years in Colorado myself and some friends made almost weekly trips from Denver to Twin Falls Idaho and back to jump at the Perrine Bridge. Not easy to do, but definitely worth the 14 hour drive each way to jump that bridge.

YouTube has made many sites such as skydivingmovies.com redundant. Of course skydivingmovies.com was good for two reasons. 1) You could search for videos in specific disciplines. 2) Much less likely to have the music censored due to copyright issues. Kind of like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0isFjaXFUM By the way, don't drink and drive. Pull over. You will spill less. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Websites being hosted on the servers of internet service providers, can be forgotten. But for websites that were not hosted on someone else's hardware, if you make a request to a website and it responds, there is a server running and it has not been forgotten since someone is paying for the electricity to keep the server online. Now broken URLs are a different can of worms and yes cleaning those up would take some effort. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

LOL ... got to keep those unionized city workers busy cleaning off the city sidewalks with the invisible snow. It could be worse I guess. They could be off at the local tavern drinking away their days at the tax payers expense. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

With Iran poised to commence their naval exercises in the Straight of Homuz" this coming week (something the MSM does not want to talk about) we could see much of the world's oil supply cut off. Why Obama continues to "Blame Canada" for Climate Change is beyond me, Canada only contributes about 2% of the global GHGs and Alberta's much hated by the Left Oil Sands is not even remotely close to being Canada's biggest violator). But yes Canada will be selling our oil to someone (no matter what the Messiah Superhero Savior of the Universe's teleprompter tells him) and if Obama wants to vilify Canada for cheap political points, so be it. Obama will be gone in the not too distant future and if USA is really dumb enough to turn their backs on their allies, there is no hope. How long before the USA has no friends in this world? I am still laughing that the University of Quebec at Montreal built an escalator 9 steps high leading up to a fully blocked off wall and charged the tax payers $200,000. I would say it sucks to be a Quebec/Montreal tax payer, except Quebecers don't believe in paying their own way through life and instead rely on welfare from the rest of Canada to pay for their socialism and extravagant special interest spending. Here is yet another example of abuse of the tax payers. It's bad enough that the tax payers paid for a stair case at the University of Quebec at Montreal that leads into a solid white wall. It is only 9 steps and yet some zipperhead felt that they needed to build an escalator and then bill the tax payers $200,000. http://www.calgarysun.com/2011/12/21/quebec-taxpayers-pay-200000-for-escalator-to-nowhere I would like to say "Only in Quebec" (Canada's most corrupt province). But even here in Calgary we have had similar abuse. Several years ago some brainiacs down at Silly Hall decided to spend a minimum of $25 million dollars on a designer pedestrian bridge over the Bow River linking up a high income residential neighborhood with downtown Calgary. Problem is, they built this designer pedestrian bridge 1.5 blocks away from an existing pedestrian bridge and 2 blocks away from a bridge pedestrians and motorists share. Oh and this $25 million dollar designer pedestrian bridge is 2 years behind schedule and who knows how much it will cost the tax payers at the end of the day. First thing we need to do is kill all of the politicians. Since most of the politicians are lawyers, we can kill two birds with the same stone. Sorry Lawrocket ... you may be a good person but the same can not be said about your peers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

So he's like 99.999% of politicians. Wow. No argument here. But what about the other 0.001%? Do they really care? Not so sure about them either. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It's a private venture waiting for Obama's approval. But Obama does NOT dare approve it before the election and risk pissing off the Hollywood elite who Obama relies on for much of his campaign donations. Obama does not give a rats ass about creating jobs for people to create the Keystone XL pipeline. Obama only cares about saving his own damn job. Obama is 2nd to none with his public speaking when his teleprompter is working. But have you ever seen what a bumbling fool Obama sounds like when his teleprompter fails? Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omHUsRTYFAU Maybe the reason why Ron Paul does not come off as polished as a public speaker is because he speaks from the heart and not from the teleprompter. I agree with you 100%. We need to put more emphasis on the message, not the delivery. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I like him, I would vote for him if I could. The Donkeys should like his stance on the US military intervention around the world. But the Donkeys hate him because he wants to restore fiscal responsibility at the cost of the Donkey's government entitlements. The Elephants should like him for his calls for fiscal responsibility. But for some reason the Elephants don't want to stop waging war around the world. FUBAR I say ... both the Donkeys and the Elephants are FUBARed. Ron Paul is one of the few people in Washington who makes sense. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Broncos played well in the 1st quarter and totally self destructed in the 2nd quarter giving up 20 unanswered points. Now that the 3rd quarter is on, there is plenty of time for Denver to give up even more points and get New England exactly where they want them. Going into the 4th quarter with a massive deficit so that they can try to win yet another come back victory. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Even though it would mean the end to cheap beef, I personally would like to see the cattle farmers stop feeding their herds corn. I never really thought about this until after watching the Documentary but cases of E Coli infections would go away if the livestock farmers stop forcing their cattle to live in their own shit and urine and of course this would only be good news for humans not worrying about getting sick when they eat meat. Yeah that was the guy I was referring to as the ethical farmer. His cattle graze in his fields eating the grass and his chickens are not cooped up inside. What a pathetic existence we humans force those chickens to live when they are in these "Indoors Broilers". Damn things are so weak they can barely walk and must sit in their shit and piss for their 5-6 weeks of life. PS: Last night I ate a tasty 1/2 chicken meal before I watched this Documentary. I finally got around to watching this documentary. I don't want to sound naive as I knew ahead of time that humans were not exactly ethical in how we treat animals as our source of food. But there were still some eye openers in the documentary. Something in the documentary stood out to me. When the ethical poultry farmer who used "Free-Range Broilers" as opposed to the ever so ugly "Indoor Broilers" was killing his chickens I could not help but notice that every chicken was making the exact same sound as the worker took the chicken from the cages and placed them head first into a cone just before they were killed. It was if the chickens were saying in chicken language "Please don't kill me". As ugly as the killing is (in both ethical as well as industrial operations), we must all still eat and the predators in the wild can be pretty ruthless when they kill their prey for food. I am not expecting any radical changes and I am not about to become a vegetarian. But watching this documentary will make me think twice about where some of my food sources come from. Just remember why Canada's per capita contribution is higher than the USA's or most other nations. It's not because we have oil in the ground. It's because it's cold up here for more than half the year and people burn fossil fuels to keep from freezing to death. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Have you ever been to Canada? Do you have the slightest idea of what life is like in Canada in the middle of winter? Do you possibly think Canadians could live the green "zero emission" life style Kyoto kooks are demanding when the temperatures dip into the -30s. Fossil fuels are burned to keep one from freezing to death in a country that has more in common with Siberia than anywhere else. Canada only contributes about 2% of the total worldwide GHGs.
