It's a drinking game dude. You just don't see the bar behind the cameras. ------ Michael

I see your point and did originally. My point is, my email was sold to an organization without my consent or knowledge presumably by a skydiving organization. (USPA?) - I've opted out of everything for USPA so if my email was obtained by a list they sold, I'm not very happy. I get enough SPAM as it is. If I'm shopping for something, I go look for it. Please don't put things in my email box unless I ask for it. I have several industry clients that I support. I received the email 22 times to various addresses, some that aren't even published or used anywhere other than testing by myself. Targeted advertising, yes. SPAM, definitely by using the 'unsolicited commercial email' definition. Michael out!

No, I generally take junk mail and restuff the envelopes with other junk mail and toss it back in the mail. ------ Michael

Disagree...Unsolicited email is unsolicited. Didn't want it and now I'm wondering who sold him the list. I got the crap several times as I have email addys for client sites to that get used (rarely, but they do get used). It's not nice to contribute to the problem. SPAM is SPAM. ------ Michael

report them: www.spamcop.net I get enough spam as it is. I don't need anymore. ------ Michael

I was stuck in first class on a plane trying to get home so technically I was still working (e.g. billable to the client) even though the flight attendant was shoving alcohol in my face. Tough job but someone's gotta do it... ------ Michael

Nah...Traffic sucks down here and there's only so much Texas I can put up with when I'm home. I'll take the mountains over the flatlands. ------ Michael

I'm just ready to be in one place so I can enjoy the mountains (summer or winter). currently sitting in Houston where it's been pouring for a while - and it's cold. Guess I should have picked something better than ice cream for dinner, eh? ------ Michael
-
12 years does not a lifetime make and although you are correct there are places with more snow and places that are colder and this has been an extremely mild winter I'm still sick of winter and ready for SUMMER! The previous 22 years were spent in a places much worse than Denver in winter. So while I agree with your assessment, you don't have anything to compare it to. Having spent most of last winter in Tampa, FL, if you can deal with the blue hairs, that's not a bad place to spend it and several DZs are close - go! ------ Michael
-
Having lived in Denver for 12 years and now up in the hills just west of the divide, yes, Denver has had some storms but the winters comparable to other places are some of the most mild I've experienced. ------ Michael

Dude...I'm up over 12' for the year. (note ' and not "). A little flurries there for you won't hurt... ------ Michael

What's the longest flight you've ever taken?
gravitational replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
8632 miles in 3 segments (DEN-DFW-LGW-PHC) and turned around and did the return 3 days later as my co-worker got sick and I needed to get him out of the country. ------ Michael -
Whats the Longest Road Trip you have ever done?
gravitational replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
longest 'roadtrip' (aka one long ass frigin day). Port Harcourt Nigeria (PHC) to London Gatwick (LGW) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) to Denver to home. Mileage in order: 3217, 4771, 644, 93. Total trip was 24 hours in a plane, 90 minutes in a car. Day length was 32 hours if you factor in the 8 times zones crossed. ------ Michael -
*Other - Wake up call from the front desk of the hotel where I'm at. When at home, I get up when I want... ------ Michael

sometimes my commute is great. e.g. crawl out of bed, make coffee, stumble to office. Lately, my commute has sucked. 90 minute drive followed by a 3 hour flight in coach no less. geez. ------ Michael

They discovered they could sell it out of state and make more money as the demand went up. To keep it here (e.g. less of it) there's also demand so the simple rule of supply and demand - they've got it, everyone wants it, they charge more. It's like buying an xBox on eBay for Christmas for $2000. ------ Michael

Dude...Mine went up $10. If you're gonna stay there, beef up the insulation. ------ Michael

me - homebased but debating on grabbing the skis and fighting with the tourons that are left on the slopes. Fighting with the tourons is keeping me working right now - they're a pain in the ass. ------ Michael

Traveler sues after her joke goes awry
gravitational replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
McD's Lawsuit - McD's should have just coughed up the 20k she was initially asking for. The huge settlement was awarded by the jury and the judge. I don't recall what the original lawsuit was asking for. The ultimate settlement was a 'secret deal' so we'll never know the exact amount. ------ Michael -
OK...you got me there. The rest was worthless though. ------ Michael
