Yep...very true. But, if you're going to open a bank account or apply for a car loan, in most cases they are not going to give you the number - well, ask nicely and see what they say. In the case of car loans, there is another number altogether called the FICO Auto Industry Option Score instead of a traditional FICO score. In most cases, this score won't be much different than your regular FICO score, but it the finance person has the option to look at this score which looks specifically at your previous auto loan/lease history. They're still not obligated to give it though. Need more FICO info, ask me. ------ Michael

Front page has gotten better in recent years but I still don't use it except in a few cases where that's where the pages were created. ------ Michael

They're not obligated to tell you what it is and they generally have policies in place will not allow the employee to give you the number. But, if you ask nicely, you'll probably get it. Just don't expect to get it when you buy something. ------ Michael

The score you need is your FICO score. Two of the 3 credit bureaus sell their own numbers that are not used by lenders to do anything. Buying the numbers from the bureaus is a waste of money. ------ Michael

order your credit score *only* from myfico.com. If you know you've got some negatives that affect your score, get it from www.myfico.com/12 (this will give you the full 12 reasons - if there are 12 - for some of the negatives in your score. ordering directly from the homepage will only give you up to 4.) Looking for more on this, drop me a PM. ------ Michael

What can we do about Skyride?

Link fixed. ------ Michael -
I had a contract several years ago to simply deploy about 500 desktop computers for a state agency. As any good civilian consultant would do, I deployed with civilian standards (read: no solitaire). When I was done, they were upset that I had deployed without solitaire (due to employee complaints) so they paid me to redeploy everything again with solitaire so the employees would have something to do 8 hours a day. Your tax dollars at work. ------ Michael

your email admins need to be fired if they're taking it offline for maintenance during business hours. edit to add: especially if it's non critical to current performance. ------ Michael

ASC apparently has replaced ChutingStar: www.parachuteplace.com with driving directions that lead right to, you guessed it, ASC from all of your local TN cities (less Memphis this time unless I missed it) ------ Michael -
I'm up over $10,000 just on the air travel stuff this year and I'm definitely not done. Will be taking business elsewhere too. ------ Michael

ahhh...someone who definitely feels my pain. I've got another 6000 miles to add to the total on Sunday when I fly home...to get on another plane on monday to fly out. From what I know is on the schedule through the end of the year, I'll probably hit 100k miles (proving that I really have no life). I haven't really jumped much this year either... ------ Michael

For those of you termed as road warriors, what are your stats for the year so far: 59,239 Flight Miles 35 Vehicle Rentals (various terms) 197 Hotel Nights (I need a vacation) ------ Michael

Mile Hi in Colorado is 2 hours from DZ to resorts (Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin). Copper is just a bit further. Winter Park/Mary Jane is probably about the same distance. ------ Michael

The official DVD is not really a profit center for the WFFC but more of a huge advertisement and promotin for the event. Make sure that no one convinces you that this is a money making venture as it is far from it. Martini Shot Films just last year (finally) covered their costs for the 3 years of doing the video. It's a massive production to compile a video to that quality (remember the shocker fiasco). Grant is a video guy that just happened to be a skydiver, bringing both talents together. Profit avenue, no...Huge commericial and promotion of the WFFC? Hands down the best thing to promote the event.
