First Skydive, many questions about cameras and mounting options.
Trafficdiver replied to ereda95's topic in Gear and Rigging
I realise that now! Thank you, I hope so. Slightly put off by the 'varying degrees of politeness' on here though. I trust this isn't representative of the skydiving scene as a whole. You called our rules ridiculous. Why should anyone then be polite to you? How would you feel if I called the rules of your house ridiculous? Like the rule about only peeing in the toilet...seems very conformist to me...it's probably going to be the only time I use your bathroom and I expect you, as a host, to clean it up. -
In this thread, we name relatively recent movies that we loathed.

Audible altimeter freefall warning altitudes ...
Trafficdiver replied to JohnnyBoulder's topic in Safety and Training
At break off from most group jumps you won't always be able to track perpendicular to jump run. -
I'm thinking he means jump suit. $20 per jump is for 5000' jumps at most places. Full altitude are $25-$27 at most places. Sign up for AFF and all of your questions will be answered and wildest dreams will come true.

I hate Peyton Manning with every fiber of my being. That's not enought to keep him from winning this if he keeps playing like this.

Awesome. You banged out your first 50 jumps she'll of a lot faster than I did. Good luck finding a good first rig...it's out there just waiting for you right now.

To Introduce Myself: My Skydiving Journey Thus Far
Trafficdiver replied to ianyapxw's topic in Introductions and Greets
Stop going to the tunnel. Spend your money on skydiving and get your A license. Then go back to the tunnel. That's my advice.. As for posting and discussing videos check out Iloveskydiving.com on Facebook. Lots of good stuff there. But...you'll find out soon I hope...making the videos is way better than watching them! -
Summary of 2013 US sport skydiving fatalities
Trafficdiver replied to Divalent's topic in Safety and Training
Not being sarcastic at all. You're wrong. Not wearing an RSL is not a contributing factor legally on skydiving. You can sign a waiver saying your risk your life away. In a business you can not sign a waiver putting your employees at risk. I have asked OSHA trainers during my OSHA 30 course if I could sign a waiver to get out of their fines and, as expected, I couldn't. Therefore not using an "arguable" saftey device (I use one myself) is not a contributing factor legally. -
Pilot: "We're gonna ditch!" Passenger: "Time for video and selfies!"
Trafficdiver replied to ryoder's topic in The Bonfire
Alternatively, we can just ignore your attempts at ruining a perfectly fine thread. Try not to do that. Hahahaha. Tell me this is a coincidence with a straight face. -

And the only one to die was the one who released Obama's fake birth certificate. Time to move this thread to speakers corner. -
How did you get into skydiving?
Trafficdiver replied to sparknote_s's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You found BASE kind of boring did ya? Sparky na I just wanted to wing suit and practice tracking when Im not right next to a wall How do you feel about skydiving? I'm interested in what it feels like to get into skydiving from an even more insane sport. Does skydiving give you a charge at all? Do you enjoy it? Or is it just something to learn tracking and it does not interest you past that? I came in through the (I'm going to try a tandem and that's it) method so I'm wondering if skydiving gives you the "feeling" it gives me. I also respect the fact that you got into skydiving when you could have said FU to it all together. -
Frequent flier miles for the tickets? Often very low rates for last minute travel. Ride back to the airport? Heck, you'll have 3 days to make that arrangement. Should be at least a couple of boogiers that are heading to the airport on the last day. Sleeping arrangements? Well, are you male or female? Have you checked into bunkhouse accommodations? I've been doing some serious mental debating. The prices just went down significantly so I thought Id just go for it, but when I tried to buy them it expired. I will keep trying. Problem is it's not the last day, I'm leaving in the middle of the week. I'm male lol if I was female Id probably just show up at the airport with my rig. I hope you don't think all female skydivers get along with just the fact they have a vagina, boobies and think they behold magical powers over men. Blah blah blah blah Yes. Pics please.

I say just go there, start jumping and figure the rest of the shit out afterward.

OSHA has no jurisdiction over skydiving. You're argument is invalid. -
What about LP. Can you get a tank?

Need advice and information!!!
Trafficdiver replied to billyz222's topic in Introductions and Greets
Can't go wrong packing up and going to Zhills for the winter. There are always tons of Canadians there during the winter. I was there a month ago and jumped with several dudes from Quebec who are down there for the winter. You'll have good weather, good instructors and more planes than you know what to do with. If you have the time you can probably get your B license. I'm sure you won't regret it. -
Help a fiction writer with a skydiving scene
Trafficdiver replied to fictionwriter's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, fiction. If it was Bond he would rail a beautiful girl on the ride to altitude. I'd say a twin otter. It's fiction so she could be the pilot and place it on auto pilot to go back and shag! 17k altitude since tits were shown. -
1st Main PD Sabre2 or Pulse? Advice please :)
Trafficdiver replied to justinbaker27's topic in Gear and Rigging
My first main was a Sabre2 210 loaded at 1.1. Loved it. Yeah the opening are interesting and the end cells take their time inflating but that's nothing. Nice performance and the landings are fine once you get them dialed in, which on your wing loading shouldn't take long. The flare at the end is good so it's no problem doing a tip toe, stand up landing on a no wind day. And it is a lot more fun to fly than a navigator, I realized that the first time I yanked on the right toggle... -
Question 13...alcohol is not a stimulant. Are you, in a round about way, trying to tell us that you want to get naked and party? The dropzone is exactly what you're looking for.

Enough jumps to hang sit flying with some freefliers I know. Not right off student status at least. -
