  1. Keep your head on a swivel in the air. There will be a lot of canopies up there so assume they don't see you. Fly a consistent pattern and have a shitload of fun. Don't expect to do too much jumping on the last Sunday unless you don't drink.
  2. Looks like the guy in the middle is about to have a real bad day.
  3. Awesome man! But hey, don't worry about 100...it may or may not come. Just make jump 71 a kick ass, safe jump. It's the journey bro, not any specific destination.
  4. None of the reasons you stated sounds like a good idea to give up. Nothing good comes easy, as my Dad always says. I'd say keep plugging away till they throw you in the looney bin or you die.
  5. That's gonna take at least 6 rolls of Duct Tape to get back in working order.
  6. Awesome! I'm not sure if we find skydiving or skydiving finds us, but I'm sure glad it's now in my life and I think you've got the same feeling too.
  7. I have a vertical suit with as much cordura as possible. It helps to slow me down and can take a beating when I slide in my landings.
  8. Why pull on it when a better check is to do it visually? Sometimes people route their excess chest strap in such a way that it covers up their hardware. Those are the people Ill give a tug on.
  9. Pepperell in MA is my home DZ, but I jump at every DZ in New England. I like tot think the world is my DZ . Shoot me a PM if you ever get out this way. Oh and hit the tunnel in Denver too if you get a chance.
  10. Cool. Good move dumping the extra baggage and getting into skydiving. Have you done a jump yet?
  11. No need to double post. People will eventually get around to answering you in the beginner forum where you posted almost the exact same thing. Kinda makes you seem like you need your hand held. My advice to you is to stop over thinking it. Either go out and do it or don't. Running every negative scenario through your head won't help anything.
  12. So....what's the point of this thread if you already know this. To bitch and complain on the Internet? Good work!
  13. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iAgX6qlJEMc Look kids, there's Big Ben. I like roundabouts better, of course, in Massachusetts they're called rotaries. I have no idea why.
  14. IMHO you don't need to buy beer till you have your license...unless you really want to then go for it. You can pay the DZO and friends back by picking their sorry a$$s up next time they land out.
  15. I got the snap crackle and pop thing once when I jumped with a cold. Lasted about 3 days.
  16. Tandem. I didn't know there was any other way. Hell, I didn't know if Pepperell was the only DZ in the US or not. I knew nothing!
  17. Awesome knocking them both out. I assumed you passed both. Yeah... Nice rush , huh?
  18. What if you land off and there is no wind sock? Don't reply on anything but your eyes. You'll get it the more you jump. Also, don't look straight down at the ground... It's like driving, you don't stare at the road 10' in front of your car when on the highway, you look where you're going.
  19. which website ? http://virginiabeach.iflyworld.com/
  20. Why don't you start your flare lower? I flared too high, too low and then right in the middle. It takes practice and pain is a good teacher. It took me til about jump 20 to get consistent stand ups ( I still slide some in now). I judge where to start my flare with my eyes, not my alti. If you look at your alti for landing you will never stand them up. If you're instructors are telling you something normally they are right, and you're over thinking it and have read too many DZ.com threads.
