Just out of idol curiosity, what would a monthly rental cost? I don't work for the Skydive Store so I don't know what it costs. You asked who rents long term--I answered. Suggest you contact them and ask. Actually someone else asked.

One can have 0 jumps at all and be a good in inface and outface carving;) Good point. I know a few people like that. I still think tracking in the sky is the best way to learn.

Jim Perry's Helio Stallion. Photos?
Trafficdiver replied to Sped's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My dad was in school at East Coast Aero tech in the 60's. It was at Hanscom Field in Bedford MA, same place they were testing the Helio's back in the day. He swears he saw one fly backwards in a strong wind. -
The OP has 7 jumps. I think inface and outface carving should come a little later in his journey.

My AFF is in 2 weeks, I'm kinda scared. A few questions.
Trafficdiver replied to Kirkk0herra's topic in Safety and Training
Dude if you deploy your parachute and it is Micky Mouse underwear on a clothes line...don't freak. Ask yourself, is it there? Is it square? Can I control it? If the answer to those questions is yes, then fly those shorts back to the DZ, go buy a case of beer and win the prize for most epic "first" ever. -
Full Definition of SARCASM 1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain What you're missing is the sharp part. You're posts are the opposite of sharp...they're dull. Much like this thread...much like you. Just because you are from England, home of John Cleese, Eric Idle and Rowan Atkinson, does not mean you are automatically funny, or even remotely humorous. You're not. Please reply to this because I'm bored and you're somewhat entertaining, in a laughing at you not with you kind of way.

And you want to take a selfie....I guess that proves age is just a number. ^this - yet another example of when Americans don't get irony/sarcasm. No...we get irony and sarcasm just fine. You are poor at both. Don't blame that on my country. But you didn't get the 'selfie' sarcasm, and you don't get the irony in your last post. You're kinda proving my point here! And if you get irony and sarcasm just fine, why does the world believe you don't and you - an American - believe you do? Don't you see the irony in that? Oh wait, of course you don't There is no selfie sarcasm to get. You made a moronic thread and are not bright enough to understand that. There is not any irony or sarcasm involved in your posts. You are a neophyte who believes the whole world has some sort of collective opinion on Americans ability to perceive and understand both of these concepts and yet have no idea how to harnass the most basic level of either one yourself to test said theory. You, sir, are a fraud.

No need to auto-enhance those. Oh...and my problem is I don't know when I'm drunk.

I've seen videos of two instructors in the tunnel, one holding the students legs while he tracked, and the other instructor holding the legs of the fist instructor...he may have been half out of the tunnel....I don't remember. I was a terrible tracker at first. Before I ever got my license I did three solo jumps that I just focused on tracking. I went over it with my coach first then got out and just worked on it till I got the feeling of tracking, which is a fucking awesome feeling! I think that those solos helped more than any tunnel time could. You know you've got it right in the air when it sounds right. Now I track like a guided missile. You'll soon see what I mean. Just get out there and try it once you're on solo status.

Hey man, if you clear it with the DZO and the S&TA on your DZ, get out on a hop-n-pop by yourself, and make sure the pilot and the other jumpers on the load know about it as well...then what the fuck do I care? Knock yourself out. Keep in mind I will tell everyone at every other DZ about it and you probably will get a wierd nickname but you seem like the type of person who does not have a problem with that as you've already let everybody know, in this thread at least, that you don't give a shit about their opinions ....so again...go for it...see what your DZO has to say about it. #whtever. #pleasedonthangaroundthefirepitafterward #kidsthesedays #probabletroll

New to skydiving, hello.
Trafficdiver replied to Moonlight_Drive's topic in Introductions and Greets
Awesome man. Try to get to Skydive Mesquite and spend some of your winnings. They're about 90 min north east of Las Vegas. -
Hahaha...he got you pretty good. You should have moved out of his way but I can see where you might not have seen it coming. Do your really have 20 hours in the tunnel? Doesn't look it.
-
Hi. You can start a new thread if you want telling us where you're from, what your jump numbers are and if that is really you in your picture. Then brace for stalking leg humpers.

I knew this was a lie and I am thrilled about it. You are the comic gift that keeps on giving. Please never stop posting here. I actually hope you get a gopro and do a tour of every DZ in Australia, call it the Skyhook Advisory Tour. That would be so much more entertaining than these run of the mill freeflying videos with EDM tracks edited in.

Weather has been schizophrenic here this spring. In skydiving you need to be flexible so when there are blue skies and easy breezes you're not held down by such outdated concepts as non skydiving friends or family.

Here's where it all went wrong. Are you a troll? Please be honest because I'd love to help you if you're not. Edit: ok I see you put your name and address on, which is better than most, so Ill give you my advice. Drive down to Oceanside California, go to Tsunami Skydivers http://www.tsunamiskydivers.com/skydive-in-oceanside/. Do a tandem skydive. If you hate it, put the rig for sale again in the classifieds, you might should make your money back. If you love it, talk to Rich the owner and ask him where he suggests doing AFF. That is the training program for skydiving. You will use their skydiving equipment for the first few jumps. Once you learn how to pack and operate the parachute go home and take the Tache main canopy out of the rig. Throw it in the dumpster. Then sell the container and the reserve and you should make your money back. At this point you will be well on your way to being a skydiver and will have competent people around you to guide you on your journey. Good luck!

I have a pro track. Gives me three alarms and record all of my jumps, keeps dtailed records of 20 or so. Works every time I've turned it on ...now I just leave it on all the time.

One year in, 300 jumps down.
Trafficdiver replied to NowAndLater's topic in Introductions and Greets
Awesome man! I got about 10 jumps in my first year. -
Hello from a current AFF student
Trafficdiver replied to seniahd's topic in Introductions and Greets
I did an HNP out of a Cessna last night and was a little disappointed in how long it took me to get stable . Of course I wasn't trying very hard. In fact I was kind of laughing at the fact that I was not immediately stable. Then I got stable and pulled. It's best to be able to laugh at your screw ups in this sport cause you'll have a lot of them...at least I did/am.
