Citizens for quiet skies
Trafficdiver replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've decided to start up a group Citizens for Open Space. You see I'd like to force all of my neighbors to move out and abandon their homes so I can bulldoze them and create open fields around my house. I'd like to raise some live stock and enjoy the peace and serenety of the New England landscape. All I need to do is forcefully evict 8000 or so of my neighbors. Their presence is in direct conflict to my dreams of a natural New Englamd setting. I'm setting up a paypal account. -
Am I the only one who will enjoy watching the carnage this will create?

How to desensitize to the inital "drop"
Trafficdiver replied to DrDom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Most of the northeast dropzone a send their planes elsewhere in the winter so unfortunately there is no place to go, save for CPI, which does fly a cessna on good weekends. Believe me if SNE kept their otter all winter I would jump it all the time. -
Awesome! It's a hell of a ride! Since you have a long winter between now and then, you should hit one of those shiny, new tunnels and spend some time learning to fly your body. It will make AFF a breeze.

Awesome man. Focus on the next jump cause that's the best one! Keep in mind there are places in the world where the conditions are good to perfect and have lots of planes with lots of jumpers. If you could somehow get there...

How to desensitize to the inital "drop"
Trafficdiver replied to DrDom's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You should go to Florida for a week or two and jump like there's no tomorrow. Doing 5 or 6 in a day for a few days in a row totally calms the nerves. And it's awesome on top of that. Most of the big DZ's will be the same or very similar Student progression. Your wife seems to be coming around so that's good. I've felt a lot of ways at SNE but lonely was never one of them. I assure you once you get a license you'll feel fine up there. If not, try somewhere else, Jumptown, Danielson and Pepperell all have strong social scenes and lots of students. -
Wind ruining your day? Welcome to skydiving! It took me 3 months to get my first 3 in. It just makes the easy breeze days that much better when they show up. Good luck on your next one and have fun!

I packed my rig for the first time in a long time. When I got to setting the risers I looked at that clearly obvious tag that says place risers on top and thought of you.

In honor of the Fitzgerald Wild Chicken festival, which happens the same weekend as the boogie, we should try to pass a wild chicken around in freefall.

It's ok. Definitely tell you're not in FF. Stepping off the side of a building is cool though. Keep inundated you pay for it and get suited up on the 1st floor. I figured that out at the top.

Yep, you're hooked. Have fun in AFF. it's even more fun than the tandem. My friend jumped here twice. She loved it. http://halojumper.com

Need a plan for a rebound from a failed season
Trafficdiver replied to SecondRound's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well said, NWFlyer. Keep your goals easy. Land the next jump safely. Have fun. All the other stuff will follow. -
Id guess your first jump back will be nervous…Even taking a few weeks off the first jump of the day is still nerve racking…but I'm sure the next jump after that you will be back to that baseline…if not further past that baseline if that jump went well. As for how to visualize a jump, the best way is to practice on the ground over and over till you don't have to think about it too hard in the air. Most of your student jumps will be 2 or 3 moves, some a little more but nothing you can't memorize on the ground. Once you get on the plane chill out and enjoy the ride up after your instructors are done working with you, All you got to do is pull really The tunnel will help you out tremendously so once you get through the door monster you should be fine. Eventually you will miss the anticipation you have now.

Is cordura considered a textile? Because I love that stuff. Do you jump?

I did a couple of night jumps last night, as I walked back to my car I started laughing uncontrollably. It's fucking awesome. I've asked people with over 10,000 jumps if the feeling ever goes away and they said no, it changes but it never goes away.

military jumper going civilian
Trafficdiver replied to georgiaboy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where are you planning on jumping? I would hit your local DZ before buying anything. You're going to have to go through AFF so use their equipment till you get your license. By then you will probably have had plenty of time to discuss with your instructors the best rig for you. Don't choose a canopy based on how easy it is to pack, cause a velo 84 is going to be much easier to pack than a sabre 2 170 but might kill you as well. Good luck. And if you're from GA make sure you go to the St Patricks day boogie in Fitzgerald in March. -
Both are good tunnel coaches, but Robbie is now in Houston and Tanya is now in California. I PM'd OP some info so hopefully be seeing in the wind tube soon.

Skydive in China.Soo many Fun stuff going on..
Trafficdiver replied to peter.xu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hahaha! One of skydivings universal rules! Good luck man. I would seriously suggest trying to get an AAD and get more coaching to bring back to China. But keep jumping...just try not to downsize anymore for another 400 jumps or so...ok. -
Altico is now Peregrine Manufacturing. New owners and product all together. Not sure of they can help you but here is the link. http://www.peregrinemfginc.com

Welcome to the forum! Look at weather days as a good way to do serious damage to yourself on the ground while others laugh at you. Good luck getting those jumps in. Shitty weather just makes the nice days that much more enjoyable!
