  1. Please post pictures of Robbie Robb's Saturday night theme costume. I'm hoping for 80's punk with real liberty spike Mohawk!
  2. I had a similar situation last week where I had a hard opening and my head was pinned down to my chest. I started spinning faster and faster and decided to chop it after a few seconds. I figure if I can't check it to see if it's working right then it's gone. Had an uneventful reserve ride. I think I had real bad line twists right down to my risers that was pinning my head down and I couldn't fix it. So it was one, two fuck you! First chop and I missed the night jumps but oh well, I made it so I'm cool with it. :)
  3. Doesn't the release they sign when buying their house state that the airport close by may grow in the future? If I bought a place near Logan in Boston I'd understand that another runway may be built closer to me in the future. Of course that would effect my decision in a positive way, but I just like airplane noise.
  4. Id just get the Viso if that's what you're planning one jumping. You'll be used to it by the end of the first day using it.
  5. I was supposed to do a an 18K night jump during the peak but decided to cutaway my main and lose my freebag earlier in the day.
  6. I can understand not allowing PM's to be used without the consent of both parties. What I can't understand is how Para-50 won't post either his side of the story of the accident, or defend himself from standpoint of the top saftey guy in the USPA. It seems to me he either thinks very little of DZ.com members, of which I am (as well as being a voting USPA member) or he does not have the , shall we say, intestinal fortitude to come foward and face any accusations. Either or is reason to vote for someone else, which I plan on doing if he does not post in this thread. With that said I look forward to voting for Al King, who has been a great representative and far more available in the northeast than whoever the former rep was, who I never met or saw.
  7. Hop n pops are a blast. It's just the fear of the unknown that's got you freaked out. You'll love them. Have you jumped your own pack job? That's nerve racking too, but almost always a fine opening. Have fun!
  8. 18 pages of bullshit and you still have not posted your name or home dz...or anything really. And again I don't blame you I would not want my name associated with the horribly weak reasoning you have used in this thread. Also, way to not be able to hold out for the last 19 jumps till you hit 200. I'm sure Teem has been pressuring you to send killer edits in .
  9. 200 Motels by Frank Zappa http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066732/ Or maybe it was just the acid?
  10. Pretty sure it was not skydivers. It's a common place for people to fly model airplanes when the DZ is not jumping. The AFFI in question saw a car leaving from the other end of the field when he went over to talk to them. They flew directly across the field with skydivers under canopy at 2000' or so. I was right there and didn't even notice them but several other folks saw them.
  11. Oh you are tired of that, i´m really sorry to hear that, so you propably shouldn´t answer to questions of this kind. Maybe if you add your personal information to to your profile it will look less trolly? Also, if you're not a troll did you sign a waiver and will your family promise not to sue the DZ? Lastly I would wait for another 200 jumps to fly over a 1.4 if I were you, which I'm not, obviously.
  12. Is there a time limit on the no compete clause? I have used them in my business, but after a year it expires. I'm not a TI just interested.
  13. It's nice to see the City Council has the leisure time to work on the least important problem NYC has ever had.
  14. They're saying this tunnel is 12'. I really hope that's wrong because we already have a 12' tunnel here. A 14' and I will go to it..A 12' and I'll continue to go to Skyventure NH for a much better rate. http://www.indoorskydivingsource.com/tunnels/ifly-boston/
  15. I was not skydiving back then, so I have a question. Did the people giving this hardcore advice still skydive, or did they quit skydiving, like Stayhigh, and just stick around a computer screen giving "badass" advice to noobs?
  16. At my DZ students are often put on weather holds while tandems still jump. That's becuse TM's have experience and students don't. Some Skydivers are quiet and some skydivers are loud and everywhere inbetween. You're probably difficult to deal with as well. Get over it. Once you get your A you eliminate almost every thing you are complaining about. Why would you quit then? Anyway it's your life, do what you want and good luck.
  17. It's the fear of the unknown. Only way to get through it is to do it. You'll be fine. In fact changing your diet is totally unnecessary. Total slobs like myself can do it. Oh yeah and 10 minutes in the tunnel is plenty for you to learn to fall stable. Just relax in there.
  18. It's taken me many years to be able to post yes in this thread. Yes!
  19. Pretty close to a 1000. May get ratings someday, may not. Id rather relax at the DZ and save working for my business.
