First Cutaway with only a little over 100 jumps
Trafficdiver replied to Nicknero1405's topic in Safety and Training
Good attitude. I'm sure you will perform your your EP's at your hard deck next time. I would have a good rigger inspect your canopy...and if it happens again burn it and bury the fucker. -
Knee pads for tunnel flying
Trafficdiver replied to skydajka's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't wear knee pads or elbow pads...but sometimes I really wish I had elbow pads on. -
iFly coming to San Diego (3 tunnels planned)

Everyone is going to die, whuffo...Not everyone is going to live. -
People get killed in Boston like this all the time and it doesn't even make the front page of the metro section. In a battle between a texting bicyclist and a texting bus driver, the bus driver wins every time.

I have not had a cigarette or a coffee in over 15 years. The thought of either disgusts me now (although I still like the smell of ONE cigarette being smoked near me).

There's lots of extra tents down there. No need for a trailer.

Trafficdiver replied to jumpwally's topic in The Bonfire
Still more thought put into this post than any of yours. -
Instructors buy tunnel time in bulk so you don't have to pay "birthday party" rates they have advertised.

San Diego is about to get some brand, spankin' new wind tunnels, and I am jealous as shit. Have fun. Then make sure you can get in the first FJC of the season next year. With the weather out there you can fly through your student progression.

Call Z hills and sign up for an FJC (First jump course. Z Hills instructors are EXCELLENT!) Go to FJC. All of your questions will be answered plus questions you never even thought of. Oh yeah...I would do as many jumps as I could per day as it makes the stress go away faster. IMHO .

Skip the second tandem. Go right to AFF. Trust me, I'm a professional.

flight skillls for heavier guys
Trafficdiver replied to invader's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm 5'11" 220 Lbs. When I fly in the tunnel I used to have them slow it down to force me to use every inch of my body to stay off the net. Try to stretch your body out as much as possible and stay flat. Also keep your head straight down. Don't let any air spill out. There comes a point where you can't do any better. Normally a big way with floaty people it's very difficult for me to get there unless they are all arching hard. Free flying allows me to use my body to slow down to almost any other flier. -
1:1 really that stupid for first gear?
Trafficdiver replied to Kolizion's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Buying a rig because there are lots of them on the market is stupid. It's closer to a 1.2 anyway. Have patients a nice 190 will show up soon. Even a nice 210 will be fine. Bet you're going to go answer shopping anyway. -
She has a Ferrari?

My 1000th went the same way. It ended up being a silly 5 way that went to shit. . I'm just glad I didn't get pied.

How different is free-flying in the sky compared with tunnel?
Trafficdiver replied to PixieUK's topic in Freeflying
I found it very difficult to learn in the tunnel and slightly less difficult in the sly afterward. Both in sit and HD. Back flying I found very difficult in the tunnel and fairly easy and natural now in the sky (although the rig on my back makes it a bit tougher in the sky). Most FF people that I have spoken too that learned it in the air first, felt the opposit. They had a difficult time learning in the air, but then it cam more natural in the tunnel. Both are unique, and for me at least, difficult. I sucked my first hour freeflying in the tunnel. And my second, and third... I can't tell you which hour it was that I finally could sit. It's brutal. For me though, the difficulty is what drove me to keep going. Now I can head up fly rock solid and my HD is getting good. Which makes me realize how far there is to go watching people carve and fly dynamic...I hope I can get to that level someday. Good luck. You will no doubt pick it up faster than I did. -
It is not the destination my friend it's the journey. Enjoy every single skydive and don't try to get to the D license or have any real goal other than enjoying each and every jump, because each one is precious! wlecome to the journey

That guy would make a great union thug...

Z Hills or Vermont Skydiving Adventures. I don't know if either is great as I did AFF but they both have the program.

How old is your main canopy?
Trafficdiver replied to megamalfunction's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just got a 2015 Sabre 2 150 a couple months ago. Stock colors because I hate waiting and choosing colors. -
Shame he didn't land in the big field before the power lines.

Good work man! Let's jump soon. Also you should get involved in the VFS tunnel competition at SVNH in January.
