  1. You'll be fine. I spun out of control on jump 3. Hit the tunnel for15 min, never had a problem again. Now it should get even more fun.
  2. Imagine if they let USPA members vote on who gets in there....oh wait a second...
  3. I would guess Cambridge, MA (next to Boston) got 30 or so on opening night. There were 3 separate showings though (maybe 4) so I don't know if they had more or less, but I went at 7 so I'm guessing the most popular.
  4. A brain fart would be not deploying. Deploying on time is really the only thing that counts. Stand up landings and good weather days are going to come with the same frequency for your next 20 jumps or so. Have fun and enjoy every moment.
  5. I had to redo level 3. Spun like a top as soon as they go of me. . No big deal you will get through it.
  6. I agree. Jean has a great life philosophy. I knew nothing about her going into this and now I have a lot of respect for her. Some really good cinematography around the troll wall. That place looks mind blowing,
  7. ***. Will I still g et hit on if I put on a really mean face, use sailor language and drink like a man? Twice as much.

  9. Still dont have the sack to put up your name or jump numbers. This thread is way past useless.
  10. It's the easiest way to use a perfectly good parachute.
  11. There are people who are awesome in the tunnel, get into skydiving then buy a small canopy at just over 100 jumps and pounds in. There are people with no tunnel experience at all who get into skydiving then buy a small canopy at just over 100 jumps and pound in. I blame the person, not the tunnel. Also, I think this is a very small fraction of skydivers/tunnel fliers. Most people I know are sensible.
  12. You might want to get nervous about the freefall. It can get you hooked on this sport and demand all of your money. The first time you are under a canopy by yourself is incredible. You'll be fine. Have fun
  13. VSA is awesome. It's worth the 45 minute drive. Beautiful DZ with cool staff. Pretty fast 182 as well.
  14. Please explain to me how watching your own GoPro video helps you to debrief your own skills?
  15. 200 jumps is not easy for anyone. Just because you jump at a small dz that can't turn as many loads does not mean the USPA should change the rules. I stopped using my camera for a couple of reasons. 1.) I am learning fast stuff, flying at steep angles or HD and I don't need it. What I need is to focus on the jump and get better. The camera does not help that. My friends cameras do, so I just watch theirs. 2.) I have shitloads of old video that does nothing for me. It justs sits there. I have no idea about editing and won't be making that cool movie anytime soon, so it's a waste. If I start helping out newbies in the future I may put it back on. Til then, I'm just going to jump and hopefully get better without the death part.
  16. Becoming an asshole was the cheapest thing I ever did in this sport. It just involved some earmuffs, jumping with another asshole and swooping the beerline, the beer side of it. Now I say "What?" everytime someone says "Hey Asshole!" Again, thanks for not taking my slots on these freefly jumps. You probably would find some reason to complain about them anyway.
  17. That's because they're assholes. I was a belly flier who wanted to Freefly because it looked fun in the tunnel. 2 years, 450 jumps and 20 hours in the tunnel and I now jump with the FF who won't talk to you. I'm not even close to being on the level of many of them. I don't care if they talk to me or not (of course they do, I'm awesome) I just want them to jump with me and push me to get better. It's been difficult and rewarding and I have so far to go and I look forward to every jump. And goddamn it's fast. Thanks for not taking up my slots on some of these jumps.
  18. I'm not sure where the beginning or middle of your trip should be...but it should end at the Tiki boogie at Skydive New England in Maine the first week of September.
  19. It's amazing how happy this sport can make you feel. Where were you jumping in NY? How did you hear about the packing job?
  20. I'm thinking about quitting our annual Roman candle fight. After shooting someone in the face they tend to want to shoot you back in the face.
  21. There is no active DZ in Panama. There is a boogie on Contadora Island, but it's 4/22-4/26 and that's ut. All other jumps there are demo jumps or special charted jumps. If you have a D license and can , and can make it next year I suggest you do. It's a good time.
  22. I jump a Sabre 2 170 at 1.4 and I get them 90% of the time when I pack my self and 50% of the time when I let a packing professional handle it.
  23. Better the late 40's than dying and never trying it. Have fun, in fact have way too much fun!
