  1. I have been to, LA, Perris, Lodi, sacremento, san fran, Oakland, Orlando, Sabstien, Zhills, Las Vegas and Taho. These are places I have stayed and I have been to many inbetweenduring transit. I have also grown up in a world that is heavily influenced by the american media and for this reason myself and much of the world have a good understanding of what america beleives in and how you live your life. The inverse; releatively you guys don't get much information other than what you media allows you to see about the rest of the world does and how they live thier life. That is why it interests me for instance why a company such as McDonalds will invest heavily in these stunning Mccafes in virtually every other country other than america itself? I may be wrong there may be these resturaunts there but beleive me I looked as it is the only american institute that I am aware of that makes a decent Cuppa in a porcelain cup? Ever other place gives me a cup of hot water and a tea bag and expects not only for me to make it myself, but to give them gratuity as well? wankers! But I suppose Mcdonalds just serves its customers what they demand. I've been to quite a few parts of the US and in the US cheap food is often very low quality and you can literally smell the chemicals from 1 or 2 feet away BUT if you step away from the chain store types there is some really good quality food around. I enjoyed a huger variety from Dinners, Pizza places, Mexican and fantastic steak houses. Yeah sure in Texas some of the places have names like "Roadkill Cafe" but boy is that possum tender after an 18 wheeler has run over it Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  3. It has to be some kind of photoshop or something, England you have to have a permit for a any guns, so it is IMPOSSIBLE that this guy has one. No it just shows you - guns don't kill Chair = 1, Gun = 0 Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  4. On behalf of JR as this customer beat off an armed robber using a good old office chair should we be banning them as offensive weapons? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8681529.stm Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  5. Out of interest other than a nice job title what does the deputy PM do (other than punching people)? Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  6. It depends on how strong the coalition is. It will certainly be much, much more difficult for any partisan or contraversial legislation to be passed, and the attempt alone could break up the whole deal. We may still be facing another election sooner rather than later. What were the odds of Clegg being deputy PM! The thought never crossed my mind, that has got to be a pretty good scoop for the liberals and might be a strong incentive to hold things together. I believe there are 4 liberal cabinet ministers that can't have happened for many decades. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  7. I agree I don't like how it is going. I think it goes to show that Cameron was right on the money when he said "Vote Clegg and get Brown". I know that Brown is stepping down in a few months if he stays in power. That said a labour/liberal alliance is still short of an absolute majority as they would have 1 more seat than a conservative/DUP alliance. If the liberals do the dirty deed of standing with labour the conservatives and DUP should vote against them at Queens speech. 8. Wow nobody has anything to say on the UK election - surely JR has some interesting tidbits, now that we are like Somalia without a government in place. Maybe gun crime will go down and sharia law be declared Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    New toy

It is a 600. I really like the Yamaha simply for the looks. I like small light bikes and was very tempted by the Kawasaki 250 Ninja but I didn't end up going for a test ride as I guess I am used to the 600's. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Nice! What's gonna be your first mod, if any? The only thing that I will probably do (have done) is lower the suspension so that I am not on tip-toes when stopped! Otherwise happy the way it is can't even begin to describe the cornering

logically you are 100% correct - but after discussions with wife I could stay with a "sensible" bike, or get something with a bit of spirit. The shop is trying to talk me into trading my old Fazer for a 125 commuter because they know that I commute a couple of miles each day regardless of weather. My wife wants me to get a push-bike for the commute so I lose the bear belly - I figure having won this battle I should give her that Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  16. Exactly: it would have been a huge matter with all kinds of people alerted/brought into the matter. Moreover, when X says: ' On one particular jump a stranger joined them.' ... that is impossible. Let's forget about authorisation, command, etc. This sounds like a Jo Weber concoction. This story presses a lot of buttons. Its a string of archetypes connected. The one thing missing is a McCoy Utah Ntl Guard connection - I guess X left that out for the time being? I smell a shiksa at work - hocken me ha'chinik - and I don't mean efsheh! Snowman will be all over this - send us a report. No different part of the world but I have personally "stowed away" on a military flight. As a 15 year old kid interested in skydiving I was on base where a friends dad was in the air force. I showed some interest to the military skydivers and ended up getting taken up for a ride while they jumped (obviously as a pax not jumper!), afterwards there was a bit of a shit-storm because there was no way that I should have been on that flight. Same country and a few years later a local skydiver got hold of some fatigues and spent the afternoon jumping with the military fun jumpers without being questioned, although I believe there were fairly serious repercussions when he bragged about it. Although I doubt that the military would shrug off a missing jumper - doesn't ring true for any operation Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  17. Honestly for all of their faults I don't think we have any alternative to the conservatives. For all of Gordons cries of being the savious HE got us into this mess in the first place. Really? Because last time I checked, the rest of the world was on a very similar sinking boat to ours. Are you saying Brown is responsible for them too? Don't get me wrong (and this goes for you too rushmc), I'm not saying either Brown or Labour are perfect and I'm not implying the Conservatives are the epitome of all evil. In fact I think I have more conservative traits than liberal ones (schooling, healthcare, business economy & defence to name a few), but looking back over the past half century Labour governments have generally been far more successful that Tory ones and I see no indication of this one being any different. Yes I believe that as Chancellor Gordon was very good at "hiding" our financial problems in terms of clever manipulation of borrowing figures. It doesn't take a genius to figure that you can't borrow forever. I also believe that economies have significant inertia and that unfortunately electoral cycles are quite good at masking underlying changes. For example I believe that the damage that labour has done to the economy will take years to turn around (and to be honest I think the worst is still to come), during this time whoever is in power will get caned for the crap economic situation. If their policies are good, then in 5 to 10 years time we will see a turnaround probably just in time for the next crowd to get the credit. Under labour unemployment has been low - but the size of the public sector has ballooned to the point where something in the region of 50-60% of the jobs in the north are public sector jobs - that is unsustainable. That said I am just a bloody foreigner and two thirds of my staff voted UKIP cause they are sick of "bloody foreigners coming here and telling us what to do!" 20. While I wouldn't have worded my reply like this I am pretty amazed at the fact that "old fashioned values" don't seem to exist. Granted my wife and I were both poor when we married (15 years ago) and have built our wealth together - I could not imagine entering a serious long term relationship with such a high level of distrust or planning for failure (pre-nup etc). Now if I ever been divorced I might thing differently. If the trust didn't exist I would rather rent-a-chick It's not about trust in the slightest - Boy trusts Girl completely. But. Example a: Boy runs a business that continues to get bigger. Boy separates assets, and keeps girl separate. If boy were to ever get sued, he could keep girl out of it. Example b: Things freaking HAPPEN. I doubt Elin thought Tiger would cheat with Rachel Uchitel. But it happened. I'm glad you and you wife defied the odds. My parents have been married for forty years, and they're still madly in love. But shit HAPPENS. I've watched countless friends of mine get divorced - after being at their weddings, where each of them were "The happiest people on the planet, and so much in love." Shit happens. To say that there's no trust is offensive. BTW - When you and your wife got married and bought a house, I'm sure the credit bureaus weren't anywhere near as massive in everyone's day to day lives. Why should boy AND girl have to pay 2 to 3% higher interest payments simply because "love" told them they should both get the loan together? That's not trust or mistrust - That's practicality. Really sorry I didn't mean to cause offence. US business culture and suing etc is something that is completely alien to me so I can fully appreciate your example given (in the UK a registered business is a legal entity in its own right and unless you step way outside the law your personal assets are safe) Agreed on the credit bureaus front as well - there are often very practical reasons why it simply doesn't make sense to throw money away. PS I said we were married I didn't mention happy and if I ever find the keys I am outa here Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  22. I totally disagree with you. 5 miles on a scooter as long as it is in residential type roads would be fine so long as the OP is not "large". They tend to run on fumes and be relatively cheap to maintain. I spent my college years on a 49CC and we even used to go out to the dz 2 up with gear which was about 15miles! I am not a scooter fan but they also have fairly large storage facilities which make them more practical than your average 125. 23. Yes it is interesting and I to be honest I think that with Gordons contribution there is now a real danger that the Lib Dems get a serious look at majority vote! For the reasons that were outlined in the squirrel story I don't think we'd want them running the country. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  24. I am not sure the two go hand-in-hand. I also think that a hung parliament is the worst situation we could end up in because no one would get anything done at all. . Maybe nothing is what SHOULD be done. The govt. has had hundreds of years to make laws, perhaps we have enough already. Exactly right - I simply can't imagine why a country with almost a 1000 years of making laws NEEDS 600 odd MP's. They don't tend to interact with the average person and I'm the only person amongst my friends/colleagues who has had "value" from my MP.
