Why would I want to date a guy who owns a girly bike? ah I get it you would rather date someone with ape hanger bars - allow you to get the most of their manly scent when riding along behind I am also told that there is a nice "vibe" to that kind of bike that puts a smile on ladies faces! I don't want a particular "type" of man.. But I damn well want my own bike!! Any man worth his salt would prefer that too! Women on thier own rides are sexxxyyyy You missed my point - the point was she could "borrow" his bike, on the good days and then ride a comfy commuter on the bad Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

You can get after market seats that lower the stance on the SV650. Also, being a naked bike, it usually is cheaper to insure (when I ran quotes in the US against other similar 650's). And, if you drop it, or, say, you boss runs into it again, there is no plastic to repair/replace, so much cheaper to repair. And it's a fun bike! I saw one today parked right next to my Ninja.. I don't like the look of it quite as much as the sportier bikes (with all that expensive plastic!), but I could see myself on one

You don't get the Ninja 500 here. I suppose you "might" find a grey import though. I agree on the "upsizing" as well - you need a full season of leaves on the roads, black ice, diesel on the road, wet man-hole covers etc, mind you to borrow from the Stiletto thread with an R1 she'll zip past the hazards quicker making it a safer ride Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

If you thought the Bandit was uncomfortable, try an R6 or a GSX-R. Although comfort is a very subjective thing. What's comfortable to me might be horrible to you and vice versa. Try sitting on (and riding if possible)a bunch of different ones to find what you like best. Lowering usually isn't all that hard. Some suspensions can simply be adjusted to a lower position, others require changing out the link or the shock/spring unit. Usually only a couple hundred bucks. The bike forums will have a lot on doing stuff like that. Hope you are being sarcastic about trying an R6 for comfort - I love my bike but it is designed so that your head is down, your arse is up and your heels are up your arse! I think the better looking a bike is the more uncomfortable it is - that is why Harleys are so ugly! Here in the UK you only have the Ninja 250 as a "standard" fully faired sports bike, all others are 600's or bigger. Most sport/tourers and 1/2 faired bikes are pretty heavy at about 220kg and I don't like that although I got used to it on the Fazer. Last week my bike was in for its first service and I had the last model 2009 naked Fazer http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/products/motorcycles/fz_series/fz8.jsp?view=explorer&subview=features and it was very nice. The Fazers had R6 engines until 2010 when they stopped making the 600's and moved upto 800's replacing the 600 with the diversion. BMW also do nice bikes and they have the 1000RR and it has ABS/Traction control etc so you can't fall off Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Don't get an R6 for commuting!! I like Yamaha as a brand. I don't know how tall you are but remember to take this into account. If you like faired bikes then the Diversion is really nice and comfortable and plenty quick enough but relatively heavy. If you are looking for an older bike then the Fazer is good (my previous bike was a fazer). I also rode an FZ6 which is a naked bike from Yamaha that was very comfortable. The R6 is brutal on your back and wrists in slow traffic and simply hates being at any speed less than about 70 and even that is only in 2 or 3rd gear! Visibility on the R6 is way down due to the riding position as well which makes it much harder to "feel" safe. * Oh I forgot my insurance went from £150 a year for the fazer to £500 a year 3rd party on the R6 and I have 6 years no-claims on my bike. That one spanked me! I'd jump it Who cares what it looks like? Use it for now and when you get the money and know what you want, upgrade to a newer model! Spread your legs more and relax! Dont forget to PULL! I use the pull and prey method, its worked so far! that reminds me - my wife is learning to back fly, so the tunnel instructor tells her to lie down in reception and then promptly tells her to "spread her legs" - she cracked up laughing We were then treated to her on her back legs spread with a man standing between them instructing her to "arch her back, spread her legs and relax"! for about 5 minutes Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. -
IF I exit my bike I NEED that helmet! Besides it is the law over here! Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

thanks - regarding waiting till winter my visor is knackered and pretty much unusable (I now ride with it permanently up so I can see where I am going). I can't really wait 4 or 5 months unless I special order a visor replacement (expensive due to the age of my helmet). OK, you asked for it...... Illegal Imagination: The average citizen is covering half of Mexico's use of the emergency room. Do you think this is a problem in the Netherlands? Malpractice insurance: I've seen some reports that up to $100,000 a year may go to Malpractice Insurance per doctor. A cost that gets sent to the patient. Unneeded procedures: I've already stated in previous threads that doctors treat lawyers first with a battery of mostly unneeded tests. Yet more time wasted, resources used and more costs sent to the patient. Life style: If I lived in Europe and only had a 30 work week to deal with, I would be a lot more healthy too. Despite all of this, Canadian officials still make there way to the US for health care, why is that? Lucky for us though, the new health care bill that was passed covers none of these issues. Medicare will now pay doctors less, yea!!!! Now they will really be able to for the malpractice insurance. not sure where in Europe they work 30 hour weeks but not here in the UK (unless you average the people on the dole with the rest of us) Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I'd expect the findings on cost to hold up regardless, but this is a pretty small selection set. Though it's significant that AUS and UK were among the other 6; those two are the nations that are closest to America on obesity rates. But beyond that, this article is scant on detail, and no reference provided to more. There's very little to discuss here. How is standard of care measured? No doubt the US was dinged for the number of uninsured, and despite their deflections on smoking, by the lifestyle many of our people choose to live. I have little doubt that I fared better here with my motorcycle accident in 2006 than I would have anywhere else, but I also know that having a PPO plan rather than an HMO was a significant factor as well. Fact in the US some of your legislation is based on you being 33cm "wider" than Europeans! I found that obscure detail out recently while putting medical products through approvals both in the US and EU. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I wear earplugs when riding motorways but not on the short hop to the office. I think the bike shop had HJC flip-ups but the guys warned that they are "very" flexible and tended to not standup to much wear and tear. I previously took the view that I didn't care about the brand of helmet much and bought a low end one about £50, that lasted about 3 months before the grab plate on the visor broke and it would flip up on the motorway (usually timed with the biggest nastiest bug being in the area!) I am looking at getting a new helmet on a relatively limited budget of £100 to £250 (that is a £600 ARAI is not an option). I currently have an old Shoe (about 12 years old) and it has been bashed around and abused enough that it probably wouldn't do any good if needed I am leaning towards a Shark Evoline that has the integrated sun visor and the "flip face" http://www.shark-evoline.com/English.html as I don't like having to take my lid off when putting fuel (the R6 seems to be very thirsty!) and I never remember sun-glasses so the integrated sun-visor is attractive. The biggest negative so far is that the sales man in the shop warned about noise on the convertible helmets, however the other sales guy uses one and loves it (and he recommended the shark over the Shoe convertible from personal experience). Any other thoughts and experiences? I am not going with a tinted visor due to the law here, in case anyone thinks I am not aware of them. They are in Canada and England - so not so few and not so far away. Actually in England while gun ownership is not something the average punter chases after, I seriously doubt that many people here give a damn! It is not viewed with the same obsession here, besides while page 3 of your tabloids probably have sensational stories about "gun rights" our tabloids have a far more interesting topic - which incidentally your country has outlawed - cause after all pictures of boobs kill Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

It makes him an executed murderer who received the justice he earned. Whatever happened to "turn the other cheek"; Jesus, as quoted by Matthew. Yeah RIIIIIIIIIGHT Why is it that our most vociferous conservative christian pro-life posters here are pro killing others in war and capitol punishment. I do hope that when they stand in judgement that those decisions in their lives come home to them. Judge not lest ye be judged comes to mind and I think there just might be some weeping and gnashing of their teeth Are you saying he should not be punished? I am saying bury the fucker in a prison where he has no contact with other human beings since he has proven he is incapable of living with others. Feed him.. provide him his cell(Shelter).. provide him a shower and a place to shit. Basic human needs. Beyond that.... give him all the books he can read... but beyond that... let him prepare for his own natural mortality. Good riddance. Honestly I have no "moral" problem with the death penalty for murder. I realise that the potential for executing the wrong person makes me tend to believe that it should be used in very limited circumstances. You only have to look at where we have got to in Europe to realise that life sentences quickly get eroded to the point where people are spending approximately 10 years as a "life sentence" for murder which is completely immoral. As another angle on the mental pressures on the firing squad (must be a crap job). Why not provide the criminal with a remote control device to fire a remote gun at himself? Your attempt to draw a parallel between NRA members and murderers is disgusting. No better than Obama's supreme court nominee Kagan comparing the NRA to the KKK: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view&post=3887024 I figure choosing a firing squad and the fact he used guns "might" make him a gun nut. Since most enthusiasts join clubs etc I simply suggested that such a dedicated enthusiast may hope to earn some credit I certainly never suggested that NRA members are murderers - simply that they are gun enthusiasts! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/us_and_canada/10347166.stm So this guy murders people using a gun and then selects to be executed by firing squad. Does that make him a gun nut and does he get honorary membership of the NRA? Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
