  1. Jerry - you need to backoff on the offensive statements. As far as DZ.com goes Amazon is a known jumper (not by me) and is well respected - you're a poster on possibly the looniest thread on dz.com and quite possibly the internet Don't go challenging me to a duel or jump or anything similar cause I quit jumping 15 years ago and frankly my outdoorsmanship sucks. a few things that I have learn't from the internet: 1) I have a tiny cock - everyone elses is at least a foot long 2) Most males have either been in Special Forces or their father/brother/uncle or nephew has been 3) everyone who posts on the internet has above average intelligence - including me! 2. ha - you're right it is one of my sidetrack ambitions to model the flow effects. I think there is alot of interesting stuff hidden in the whoosh - not that it may be relevant to cooper. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  3. A cypres is there for when things go seriously wrong. 3 000 feet is a safe EXIT altitude. As the altitude that the Cypres triggers at is increased the chances that it will fire while a main is deploying or being deployed rise - this risks a main/reserve entanglement. Reserves open pretty quickly (I believe but am not certain there is a spec of 300 foot) so it is logical that the Cypres is configured to fire as late as possible - ensuring that the human operator has done everything possible and that that the electronic actions do not interfere with a persons ability to make decisions. 4. Hey that's funny to ponder. We talked a bit about random possibilities of why 11/25. No one mentioned a relation to hunting season. That would be really funny if he knew about that. If he was the kind of person I think he is.. trust me.. he would have known that. So the question to Jo is did Duane eat alot of Elk Very interesting observation though possibly the only "new" idea in the last 10 000 posts (I refuse to back that up with research though). 5. And when pray tell will this monumental event take place? Really Jo, give us a date for this promised revelaltion. We are waiting. When the truth is revealed the CIA will cease paying Snowmman. Your repeated delays in delivering promised evidence just make him richer. If you really want to hurt Snow then spill the beans. And think twice about threatening legal action. Many lawyers will be delighted to take many thousands of dollars to litigate a defamation case that has provable damages that are a tiny fraction of the fees. 377 Ok I solved the whole Duane is DBC issue - as Jo stated the key was "hiding it in Plane sight". The stupid FBI missed the whole clue as to where Duane "hid" after the hijacking and you have all been so focussed on the air-stairs that you didn't bother to look up. Look very carefully at the attached image of flight 305 coming into land on the night of the hijacking and try and spot Duane Duane Hiding in plane sight Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  7. Although I heavily discount conspiracy theories, this isnt the first time a big dollar migration away from a Microsoft product has caused a major blow up. Do those those who leave the flock suffer the pre-programmed wrath of Gates-god? Hope things get fixed soon. I wonder what the "serious research" Sluggo hinted about is doing? I recall Galen saying that a sample of Gosset's DNA was available. Wonder it was ever run against the supposed Cooper tie DNA? 377 Aol, was down in this area for 3 days off and on.
  8. I will happily grab something out of my wifes handbag. However you do get the odd surprise - even she does. Today she pulled out a biscuit that one of the kids had put in it - nice chocolate one Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  10. I'm not a lawyer, but broad brushing an entire profession is not right - despite the jokes. I have known a few lawyers and in general they were pretty decent people. That said one of them gave up practicing law after he had to prosecute his own dealer It scared the crap out of him that the guy would give up the goods. Anyway despite my defense of lawyers in general you can take no-win no-fee ambulance chasers and use them however you like preferably for target practice. Always amazed how things turn so personal here. Broad brushing? Did i ever say all lawyers or did I site a specific event with only 1. With all the new impliments of purchasing and refinancing the SSN goes into a data base for potential terrorist. As it was explained to me. My issue with the whole thing and how it has personally affected me, is the illegals that have swamped our small township decreasing property value all around my neighbor hood and also with 2 friends off mine being caught up in a hit and run car accidents where they were left to deal with the problems. I also totalled my 05 camry after one such person made me swerve into oncoming traffic and flipped my car. (I have the video from the convienent store camera), And under our state laws if no contact is made its the fault of the sole driver. So insurance up, property down, friends in accidents and this single lawyer played part in the activity. Am I bitter, Fuck yes! my bad - I thought the title of "lawyer integrity" was mean't to imply no lawyers had any integrity. I have absolutely no sympathy for illegal immigrants, so I can understand your frustrations. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  11. OK Jo. Show me proof of convicts/prisoners receiving jump training. No Poof. PROOF. You said: "You are wrong.". Prove I am wrong. You can't maintain proficiency as a jumper without regular jumping. The occassional "meetings" you refer to would not suffice. How often did Duane jump? Where? Whose aircraft? Put Duane in a chute. Simple request but guaranteed to produce dodges, excuses, expressions of fear, teases etc. I am glad that we had Ultra Rangers to do the jobs nobody else wanted to do. Real Rangers lusted for tough assignments. They didn't like cleaning latrines. Duane was a patriot hero. The FBI knows it. It pains them to suppress the truth but they have no choice. Have some sympathy for them Jo. Keeping you in the dark is essential. National security is at stake. They mean you no harm. 377 377 she said EX-CON. I thought a number of skydivers had criminal records so I don't think there is any news in what she is saying - or any relevance. 13. Unfortunately, right now it'd be four hundred for Nigel and his step-dad. But I guess for someone who could afford two hundred, they'd probably find the extra two.
  14. Not sure that I would spend 200k on it (even if I had it), but some things in life are worth the experience. I had the priveledge of flying on Concorde the week before it was withdrawn from service - and while it cost me nothing I would happily have paid. With time ticket prices will come down and while this may seem like a f*cking crazy reason I would spend a hell of alot of money to do it. When I was about 5 or 6 years old, my "new" Dad promised that one day we would go into space together. My mom had just gone through a crazy divorce and my step dad who is a great guy sincerely believed that as space flight was growing it would be possible in his lifetime. I would love to be able to fulfil his promise by taking him up - I just need prices to drop quick enough cause he's already over 70. He was always a person of his word and this is the only promise that I know of that he hasn't kept - I doubt he even remembers it. 15. Im not religious at all, but I hope like hell I'm dead and gone it this ever comes true!!!!! Looks like the women in here better get used to wearing a burqa and getting the shit kicked out of them by there husbands. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAH that video was hilarious. Talk about scare mongering. I like how they include the "helpful" quote that 40% of Russia's military will be islamic - they don't do that for anyone else. Also the US is the only country to exceed the "magical" 2.11 figure without islamic migrants. Since the video claims that muslims are fucking themselves into world domination, they should organise swinging partiies in churches to help get the birthrate up and increase church attendance Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  16. Yeah, 'cos we all know that science isn't really work... it's just a cushy old boys club, right? My housmate's just started a PhD, he's in the lab maybe 10 hours a day, often in on weekends and spends a whole lot of his evenings at home reading through literature in the field, working through results data and designing his next experiments. All for what probably works out as somewhat less than minimum wage. Bloody slacker needs to get out and see how the real world works! I have worked with PhD and university proffessors and having a PhD does NOT correlate with having real world "knowledge". To quote one of my staff yesterday "during my PhD I was told NOT to include practical considerations in my research". This discussion is the result of us working with a client who are all PhD's with many years academic experience and no exposure to industry - it is very enlightening. My personal take on global warming is that there are proven cycles of hot and cold periods, while man MIGHT be contributing I don't believe we know enough to be certain we are the main cause. To address Bill's allegation that industry stands to benefit from denial and government's don't benefit from manipulating data, I don't believe that is true. Certainly here in the UK the government HAS to raise taxes to avoid a severe crisis in public funding and it is politically beneficial to implement a "feel good" tax to avoid the backlash of simply raising taxes. That has got to be a huge insentive to find a friendly tax vehicle that people actively pursue. That said reasons to tackle our consumption of fossil fuels and reduce polution are justifiable regardless of the weather. 17. For DZ.com I am surprised the thread hasn't been hijacked by safety nazi's telling you not to be so stupid and that only people who are licensed sex workers, have 2000 jumps and a wingloading greater than 2.5 should attempt this Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  18. Sounds like something that cult leader con artist Werner Erhard (EST) would have said. Jo is a cult leader of sorts. She has amazing powers of persuasion. I point to the exhumation and examination of a long dead dog by eager volunteers as irrefutable proof. She is hinting more strongly than ever that Georger is part of the Cooper coverup conspiracy. An enemy of a cult can be in great personal danger. Be careful out there G. 377 377 I thought she mean't Georger was either cooper or Tina Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  19. Dude, we're talking about 'giving' them the shape of a building. Not about letting them invade, not about letting them blow people up, not even about letting them broadcast the call to prayer - just the shape of a building. They already have over 200 Mosques and 4 Minarets,,, how many more do you think can fit in the "Little Country" of Switzerland? I think they probably could fit a few more than 4 before they start to dominate the skyline, yeah. I realise it is on a local scale but does that make our (UK) planning laws "restrictive" on muslims. Surely you would agree that having a "dominant" structure built in a cotswold village full of listed buildings would be detrimental to the value of the houses? If the Swiss are proud of their architecture and would like to keep to a certain look and feel they are entitled to it. If they want to see lots of middle eastern architecture they can pop over to Turkey. I know it is not popular in Europe/UK but patriatism is good and it is one of the things that I like about the US. For some reason the English seem to be particularly anti-patriatism (don't know if that is a word), within the UK the Welsh, Irish and Scots are quite happy to mark their territory. Point being if seeing architecture as disruptive/violating your countries uniqueness - as a country you should be able to say so. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  20. Because he's an ethical human being. and the majority of swiss are not? Precisely! And they've demonstrated that by democratic process! If the "free speech" don't tread on minority argument is followed through to its logical conclusion then you don't mind sharia law being applied locally? I honestly don't understand yours and Jakee stance - a minority activity that disrupts and or offends people is over-ruled by a majority and it is a problem? 21. Here's how you learn to jump: sport parachuting training military training smoke jumper training At least you gave it a try and that is more than I can say for the rest of these guys. Just thinking out of the box is not enough - one has to go further out of the box than has been gone before. This may not be an area some of you feel comfortable going and there are those who DO NOT want any one of you to go there. No risk - no gain. Jo I don't know what you are getting at here? Are you implying that you can learn to jump off of youtube, popular mechanics or playboy? The history of parachuting has been written in the blood of the pioneers who were self taught and or experimenting with new idea's and methods. Even Jesus refused to base jump without proper training http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temptation_of_Christ - I doubt Cooper was a first time untrained jumper who got lucky and survived a night jump with no reserve from a jet. 22. The getting moved 10 miles does happen, where the mines get lifted during heavy rains, granted it does not happen overnight but it does happen. A 5 minute search brought up http://www.hinduonnet.com/2003/07/11/stories/2003071102841300.htm but I've heard of it before. 23. The UK has taken some major backward steps in terms of human rights over the past decade, and I'm very disappointed about that. But it's not really connected to this thread. I'm not bashing Switzerland, OK? I love Switzerland, I've spent a month or two there already this year and I'm heading back for Christmas. I've not got a problem with your country. I'm just talking about the limitations of pure democracy in response to a statement from another forum user. There's really no need to be getting so defensive! I am not sure where your thought process in terms of majority/minority is going, but you simply can't have a society where nobody is offended. Bacon offends Muslims so should we stop selling it, should the good old English breakfast be removed because pork sausages are offensive? As far as I can tell you have 2 options a democratic type model, or segregation. As to the original topic noisy call's to prayer are an infringement on other people - move into the 21st century and do it over a radio station for goodness sake. Every Islamic household can have a radio turned on permanently and at full volume, everyones happy. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  24. Yes. It would deter illegal immigration and drug trafficing. Basically if you get blown up then you were doing something you shouldn't have been. If by some miracle you make it then good on you. No. I think its a very inexpensive solution to a couple of big problems. It is not possible to properly "clean up" landmines without enormous expense that is the problem. Fine put landmines on the US border wait for 5 years as the rain and environment move them to "safe" area's and watch your 10 year old american kid get blown up when he finds something really interesting while out hiking with mom and dad. Modern landmines are manufactured to be "stealthy" and every effort is made to avoid simple technology detecting them. They are not made of metal so metal detectors don't work, and they are normally designed so that even GPR systems struggle to differentiate them from the surrounds. Why not deploy armed predator drones along the border? At least then you can choose who you kill Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
