  1. Yeah I guess I did rush into that. Thanxs for the words of caution though. Better learn to scoot before I can crawl! Just outta curiosity we planned that if we broke apart early that we would get to our bellies fly in RW stlye and then try to get back into the sit. WOuld that way be safer than going right into the sit and then coming toward each other? jason
  2. Forgot to add this in the last post but I got to the packing hanger and started to pack my chute. While I was counting out the cellsI got to the center cell and saw some loose thread on the canopy upon further inspection I saw a big hole (or rip as I saw it) not thinking I threw my chute down and said "F%ck...God D$mn it!!!!!" One of the J/Ms came over to see what was wrong. I told him the chute was ripped, when the hell did that happen it wasnt there when I opened!!! (I was pissed). I then showed him the hole and he looked up and laughed....Thats your crossport... all of you cells have them... see and then he proceeded to show me......DOH!!!!!! I didnt even think of it (dumbass)so there you have it... I won the IDIOT AWARD for the weekend! jason
  3. Was out jumping this past weekend and was getting on a load with three other people. What to do what to do... well to of them was going to do a two way sit and they recomended we (myself and the other jumper) do the same. we both kinda looked at each other like uuhhh...ok! Both of us has never tried this before so we thought what the hell what do we have to lose!! So the other two showed us how to exit and get our feet rapped up together quick like and off we went. On the way up I ask my friend what we were going to do when we brake apart (some confidence huh). Anyway get on jump run and out the first two go, give them a 5 count and start our climb out, everything felt good and wayyyyyy we gooo! we got and awsome exit , locked legs right away and started to tumble. It was the coolest feeling looking across and seeing him wooo-hoooing while the world just tumbled by. we held a good sit position even while tumbling. then BAMB...we came right up to a nice sit position (ass to earth) and held it for about 3 sec and then started to tumble agian. about 6000 something went goofy and our legs got all twisted up so we broke loose. This wa by far one of the greatest jumps I've had yet. And what made it even better was that neither of us had ever done anything like it before so we both had a BLAST and learned something new!!!!No I have a problem...I still need a lot of on my RW skills but now I would like to learn the Free fly thing Argh!!!!O'well I guess I have plenty of time to learn both adn I'll need every minute of that time jason A-38658
  4. And make sure to put corks on the forks! jason
  5. I also would have to agree with spectra on this. I'm very new to the sport with only 32 jumps and 16 under my own pack jobs. to me its like someone wanting to be a cop. You dont become a police officer because of the pay, you do it because you want to learn about law, or help people or get assholes off the streets. SOmeone to me that goes and gets there rigger cert abviously wants to learn about packing and all the aspects of canopies. I'm sorry but I'll trust them before I'd trust some person whether there 16 or 56 yrs old to pack my chute just so they can get a few $$ taken off there coarse! And I definatly agree that I would never let anyone pack for me that hasnt jumped. I know my pack jobs arnt the best but I've never had a mal (yet) and I've never spanked myself, so I must be doing something right! call me arrognat or an ass but like everyone says "its my life, its my skydive, I'm going to do whatever is comfortable for me!" jason A-38658
  6. So I take it this means your not coming to UTah? dude that sucks. I'm sorry to here your getting laid off. With all your mad skills though you should be able to find something though! jason
  7. I'm sorry but that has to be the CUTEST, and COOLEST, thing I've seen!!!!!My little girl is only 23months old (2yr on aug 11). And I think shes the coolest because she can arch reach and pull but damn that little girl takes the cake! jason
  8. I know at my DZ skydive ogden,ut they say they like people to pay before they jump but they dont hold it to you nor do they ask to hold any credit card. I know when we had the super otter weekend they had it set up to buy jump tickets so you could buy say five jumps at one time and then just give manifest a ticket to get on the next load. But usaully they use a honor system which I think is great. To me I see skydiving as a disipline just like say martial arts, and one of the biggest parts of any disipline or anything in life is integrety and zi think anyone caught intentional skipping out on paying for a jump they made at the begining of the day outa be kicked out from that DZ and have other DZ's in the area notified of this person !!!! It may sound harsh but I'm the kind of person that doesnt like to pussy foot around was people like that! jason A-38658
  9. You want my honest opinion? I know at my DZ the answer is NO. Trying to get a J/M to teach you on the offsides for cheaper is like going into a grocery store that your friend works at and having him knock off 25% because he knows you. ITs a place of business. Now on the other hand you can learn to become a packer and use that money you make to help with your training! Again this is just what I know from my DZ! jason P.s sorry about the jokes we'er all kinda crazy around here
  10. I've only jumped at one DZ so far (ogden skydive center,ut) but there is a review there (a good one). jason
  11. I've also heard of this happening too out in Utah. Only the guy that mailed in a photo copy of his fine ended up getting arrested for countifiting money!! jason

    T-shirts...

Dont quote me but I think there were DZ.comm Tshirts for sale for a while but there was a problem with the print. Something like it fading off in like three washes so Bossman (HH) said he was going to take them off the web til something better came along. Like I said I THINK I remember reading something to that affect. jason
  17. Oh yeah people...well my lic plate is 280 KTB!!!!!yeaaaahh!! jason ("L" stands for loser... thats good enough for me)

  21. I glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've actually thought of this while FFing.. cruising past 4000ft thinking "what if I didnt open my chute" no no no I'm not suicidle just thinking what people go through and how to imagine or continplate it. I guess you cant unless your there which I hope to never be! As for would I quit.....no. Everybody everyday plays the game of life.. ANd everydy someone dye or is dieing. Does that mean we should all give up the game too!! I know this is an extreme comparism but you get the point. But it still doenst make anything easier when you loose someone! jason

    Utah DZ's

Hey sinister, I jump at skydive odgen!!!!!Damn its about time some one came out here to jump. WHen are you coming. I havent jumped at SD salt lake yet but I here its nice. We have a real nice big hanger for packing and great facilities. Its a smaller DZ but nice all the same. We'll have to hook up and jump!!! If you nhave any questions just send me a message and I'll try to answer any. jason jason
  23. I guess I kinda have one, but everyone should have this....but for me I've drilled it into my head that if I dont go for my handles at least 3 times in the plane I'm going to have a bad jump whether bad being my jump didnt go as planned or a malfuntion. I know some of you may say "oh so you think just by touching your handles you wont have a mal"? No I'm not saying that but for me it gets me to know where my handles are and gets me pysched up for the jump. Kinda like football players head butting each other before the game. doesnt mean there going to win just gets them pumped. hey at least mine is getting me pumped and reveiwing proceedures at the same time. jason
