  1. ROTFLMAO.. maybe you should get a sign and stand on the street corner like the rest of the doomsayers have been doing for the last 2000 years.. Or perhaps you should remove your blinders and check your 'biblical history' so you'll understand the writers you refer to thought they were living in 'end times' too when they wrote their lovely fictional accounts..and they’ve been dust for 2000 years now too, while the world progresses on.. Or perhaps its just that as you get older you start the think/wish the world will end when your life does? but guess what? it wont. it will go on and on as it has for the last several billion years or so no matter what your continually edited, ignorant, short-sighted, culturally biased, dogma might profess to the contrary.... wishes people could see GOD does not share the prejudices and preconceptions of MAN so blatantly obvious in what the 'rightous' tout as 'his word' Happy holidays! (whichever holiday you enjoy, not simply the one the christians have preempted in an attempt to gain credibility by usurping the mythos of others) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  2. it ISNT christmas...if it were christmas i would be happily hammered in Eloy about now as i'd be 4 days into my nearly 3 weeks off for the holidays, instead i'm freezing my ass off in a bunker in Iraq (admitedly a bunker with TV and internet access) and exchanging MREs for presents.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  3. ECC is error correction and in most cases doesnt make a significant difference, however all you RAM should be one or the other..mixing them is bad juju... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  4. not necessarily if you were sitting at home screening your calls you would be both able and available, but because you were disinclined to answer you are 'unavailable' (by choice) for that particular phone call. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  5. someday i'll be able to tell you how mistaken you really are... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  6. your sticking your head in the sand if you dont think the US presence here IS having a significant deterrent effect on Terrorism in the US. As opposed to having to find funding, visas etc to travel half way around the world they can travel cross-country to attack the US, and they are not engaging Cops and Firemen defending supermarkets, they are attacking the best trained best prepared segment of American society and we hit back significantly harder than they do.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  7. that depends entirely on how/how high you do it...ive had some of the closest calls of my life doing inverts and have a friend who managed to lose a nipple when he didnt stay 'clean' during an inverted trust fall...but the ground rush is simply loooooovely!! ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  8. oh, i'm not too terribily worried i'm one of the people who does/trains range analysis and honesly i'm (along with many others) are waiting for them to try it again ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  11. nice very nice.. personally i like having as much information as possible in a single place i access on a regular basis, so i think the inclusion of the fatalities database here is a good thing.. a suggestion? having just read thru the article for Mass Media reporters have you thought of being proactive here and forwarding that to as many large news agencies/websites are possible? it would certainly highlight this website and its information resources as well as speed the distribution of 'proper' procedures for reporters.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  13. people who read powerpoint slides to their audience meetings that take 3x as long as they should because the 'boss' cant be bothered to read the previous days action summaries, so we have to repeat it all for him (despite the fact that he will do nothing with the information once he has it) x Col’s who cant seem to understand that all the former NCOs do really know what their jobs are and do them faster and better if they don’t have to explain it to him in short sentences with no long technical words. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  14. Difficult to really even begin to ponder the question and also a little presumptuous to think you might "know" the answer. A bit like asking if Georges-Pierre Seurat would have switched over to acrylic paints. Sometimes an artist likes a particular medium. In the case of Adams, he's not really known for his color work, but clearly color film existed at the time. He instead worked mostly in large format black and white and often not exposing more than a single frame of it in an entire day of waiting for the light to be "perfect", so to make the leap to say he would have or not switched over to digital is, as I said before, a bit presumptuous. not necessarily, while much has been made of his 'zen' of the perfect shot, he was also equally likely to take hundreds of proofs to examine the conditions necessary to get that 'single shot' not to mention the number of failed prints he left on the dark room floor IMO his method of work seems to definitively indicate he would have loved digital cameras (and darkrooms) simply for the ease of use and in expense. the end effect of acrylic vs oil is so significantly different that the comparison isnt valid, for photography we are rapidly approaching the point where there is little difference in quality between digital and wet and as the final product is far more important than the process to most artists, why would AA care? So long as it achieved the desired effect? one of the defining differences between and artist and a technician = is the focus on the process or the completed work? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  16. idly wonders what the odds for Beagle's success are in Vegas? arent we 'batting' something near .333 for mars probes? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  19. outcasts? hmm you mean we didnt participate in the pointless, silly overt social scene? would be me..of course that would also be the 30ish other people who didnt fit into what highschool life in AL was supposedly about.. whats amazing is I still talk to most of them, very few still live there and most are doing better than any of the 'overacheivers' lauded by the school structure.. reunions? whats the point? everyone i care about i still talk to regularly (just got 3 letters here from actually) and we still throw better parties than the social strata ever thought about... of course if i cared it could be interesting to bring my passport and personal acheivement list to rub in the face of the walmart managers and bank tellers with bad marrages and ugly kids who repeatly said 'you'll never amount to anything'. fortunately i have far better things to do with my time than wallow in the stagnant pond they mistook for the ocean... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

do get the drivers for everything, but Win2k has less issues with games than most people think..I'm on one now and every game i play works fine (althought the graphics cards on Dells arent always up to the best settings) also you'd be suprised the number of places a good wireless card is a very useful thing to have.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  23. this discussion always quickly becomes about money, but most people fail to see that it is far more than that.. everything is an economic transaction, you trade (give if you like, but you still get a since of well being or self satisfaction in return) something for something else. In essesence 'selling yourself' the currency and quanities involved are entirely up to you, tangible, intangible valuable to the rest or no, but you are still involved in a transaction at some level the only issue is when you are being judged by others on a standard that is ultimately personal, no one can decide what you are 'worth' and what is 'good enough' for you but yourself. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  24. cute freckle. got any more? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  25. good for you, but it doesnt change anything..everything in life is a transaction, you 'sell yourself' in one way or another to everything you do, you trade something to get something else, its the basic nature of civilization, even if you chose to live in a cave on a mountain all by yourself you are still 'selling' something for another commodity you find more useful. 'degraded' is something you feel personally, no one can feel it for you and you cannot feel it for someone else. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
