  1. I think I'll try this one out a few more times. I don't know....I was just a little weirded out when I had to be the attacker....I guess since I've never done that before, it'll take some getting used to. even in akidio you must 'play' the attacker, its the only way to properly train and to train well you must do it with strong intent...if you dont put energy into the attack you are not giving your partner that energy to channel away and not helping either of you when/if the time really comes... it will help if you recognize that inorder to learn the techniques that will really help in the real world you must mimic (without anger or malice) the situations and circumstances they might find them selves in.. start slowly but build to 'speed and power' you'll be very suprised how easy it is to control and redirect someone when they give you their own energy to do it with, but you must commit to the attack as well as the defense, holding back for fear of being the 'aggressor' will only hamper everyones training... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

good question...when i meet me i'll ask him... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  7. standard medium varnish (damar is a good brand name) will work to preserve it, but the blood will still dry and change colors before the varnish dries enough...unless its rather thick blood dries fairly quickly. a shilac (however its spelled) spray may dry fast enough to retain the bright red color, but there are easier ways to get the effect. as far as biohazard hep C is something to worry about, but if coated well it shouldnt be a real issue.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  8. paint in whatever you like...blood, shit, piss, roofing tar etc.....its all about the expression and the intent.. however there are some serious logistic and permancy problems with painting in blood, to begin with if you use your own your likely to run out before your done unless it is a rather small work...in addition the colors will change significantly as it deteriorates and it doesnt mix well with many mediums... lin seed oil works fairly well, but honestly the effect is rather under whelming...no one will recognize it as blood once its dried unless you label it so and then your getting into more the conceptual/performance arena than you are 'painting' if your just going for shock value....get over it, its been done before and done better than you (or your friend) is likely to do.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  9. it would be more accurate to say ignorant people get their opinions from others instead of doing a bit of research and forming them themselves...and the majority of those opinions come from the predigested drivel that is the typical fair of television in general. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

wish i had some but i dont have a camera on my head yet. essentially he reverses the 'tracking shape' but the key really seems to be the transition and already having some good horizontal speed then smoothly 'flipping' actually IIRC he does more of a quick spin than a flip but its amazing to watch.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  11. i've been jumping (demos and loaners)various 150s@1.37 since jump #200 or so. I'm still flying a 150 (Stiletto now) because i dont feel i've gotten everything out of it yet, when I'm comfortable with it I'll downsize irregardless of the number of jumps it takes for me to feel comfortable..20 or 200 I believe everyone should determine their own limits, if they arent capable of doing so and accepting the risks involved, perhaps they really need another sport in the first place.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  12. hmmm just realized that i havent posted one in this thread yet... of course that could be because i'm not a hottie ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  13. hmmmm thats a tough one, but i'd probably have to say participating in a duel with my best friend and live rounds (smooth bore antiques that luckily we couldnt load properly for accuracy) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

  15. even sitflying your largest wing is still your torso..one way to slow down is to get more of it into the air...you can do this by arching from the top of your chest and pushing your shoulder blades into the wind...of course over emphasizing this will also translate into drive so you'll have to compensate with your legs....which gets more surface area into the air as well and will also help you slow down.. there is a fine line to maintaining this position vs 'buttflying' but you can get some really slow speeds once you get it down... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i've had my jaw catching to much air while watching Andy Farrington flips over to track feet first...pretty easily hanging with the group who was otherwise moving out....after the first time i saw it someone said "just ignore the man in red...normal physics do not apply..." ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  18. again confirming i'll never grow up... however the cheapest ive found 'pretty good stuff' is 8.99... Ca De Solo Big House Red baby!... yet again we've drank 2 grocs out of the stuff...do i need to slow down or should they increase their order/cycle ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  19. i'll just go with the general complaint... life is not as i wish it to be and i have little idea of how to change it so it is.... hears the sirens in the distance already.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  20. ive been doing the rubber band thing on an off...good reason to not now it seems.. if your shirt is long enough that blowing over your handles could be an issue its probablly long enough to pull thru the hip ring and make a quick knot. large enough it can pull thru easily. I have one shirt i do this to all the time and it keeps it down very nicely although it does wear on the shirt some.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
  21. Andy Farrington flew that one. Didn't land it, of course. It was their little model canopy at the PIA. IIRC correctly his protrack showed a fall rate between 60-70 mph ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
