  1. That was Jo Weber doing some of her pontifications. Jo, Is your resignation also effective on February 28th? Robert99
  2. Blevins, Your post had exactly nothing to do with my question to Jo about some of her claims. You just reposted things that you had proposed about a week ago and which didn't make it very far up the chain of possible explanations. Robert99
  3. Jo, What is "Could the money have been put there just below the tree line about 17 to 18 feet in 1979 ????" suppose to mean? Robert99
  4. What he said! I can barely contain myself while waiting for your response. Hmm. They are connected THIS way: IF it were determined somehow that the Amboy chute, contrary to what the Seattle FBI has stated under suspicious conclusions, DID belong to Cooper... Then this would prove the money did not arrive at Tena Bar by natural, non-human-involvement means, or as a result of Cooper drowning in the Columbia. But this connection cannot be established because of the lack of information on the Amboy chute. It's not my fault the Seattle FBI tried to push off that initial story about the chute. (Belonged to Walling, which is impossible) Or, that they have become quite secretive about the chute. (No response to inquiries, refusal to allow Sleuths or local chute experts to examine and publish findings) As far as the Amboy chute, the way the FBI dealt with the whole thing does not lend itself to credibility on their results. They try one story, then another, then bring in Cossey with his silk-not-nylon story. It's almost like Maxwell Smart and his 'would you believe...' routine. And yeah, it could be coincidence...but ask yourself how many parachutes are buried along the flight path right at the approximate location Cooper probably jumped. See attached map. It's a hell of a coincidence, wouldn't you say? To settle this question once and for all, what is needed is for a major skydiving organization in the Puget Sound area to step up and request a look at the chute. I don't see the need for secrecy on it by the FBI. Think about it: If it's just a junk chute, a cargo chute or whatever...then what's the big deal letting some local experts take a look? Unless there's something more to it than that. My main issue here is that there is a bit of a shadow still hanging over the whole thing. That problem is the fault of the Seattle FBI, who have IMHO been a little less than forthcoming on the chute. Blevins, You claimed a connection between the Amboy parachute and the Tena Bar money. Now you say: "IF . . . . ." and "But this connection cannot be established because of the lack of information on the Amboy chute." Get yourself a dictionary and look up "fact" and "speculation". What you have been calling fact is actually speculation. Robert99
  5. So, you now admit your A^B were connected. Why then take me to task and deny the connection (you have made many times previously, just as you now do again above). So, what is the connection you see, again? Refresh our memories to avoid a further charge we are putting words in your mouth. You could also comment on the previous real-world puzzle I posed. If one digs a hole pre-1980 and sticks three bundles of money into it, then covers the hole, then waits for erosion to act and finally in 1980 the money is exposed ... which sand is found around the money? 1980 sand. Or older different colored sand? Palmer found a smooth transition of strata with no evidence of a previous "filled hole". How do you bury something on one date and some time later the item is exposed by erosion, and no evidence of mixed sand, ie. the hole? Blevins, Your statement above, "The Amboy parachute and the Tena Bar money ARE connected.", indicates you are certain about it. Where is your proof? Keep the FBI out of this. It is YOU making that claim. What is your reply to Georger's statements about the consistency of the sand layer? Also, I am personally certain than anything, money or otherwise, that goes through a dredge's pump and piping is going to be showing some signs of wear. Yet the Tena Bar money seems to be rather well organized and undisturbed. So there is no evidence that the money was buried at Tena Bar, that it was in the dredged material, or that it walked down from Amboy on it's own. So what is your explanation as to how the money ended up at Tena Bar? Don't say you haven't made such claims when your very first sentence above is such a claim. Robert99
  6. Blevins, If the "Wallings parachute" really was the one that Cooper used, it would ELIMINATE the possibility that any of the money could have ever made it to Tena Bar. Robert99
  7. why so complicated here!? Every other forum site you just paste the url, and "click' and the website software does it automatically - viola ______________________________________________ "work-for-wages sheeple" (RobtMBlevins) LOL. Haven't worked for wages in fifteen years. Sorry this website doesn't jump into your Drive-Thru-at-Burger-Queen hoops. Yeah, you actually have to type a bit of simple code to make certain things work. These days, I know kids eight years old who can do this with ease. Actually...this website does allow you to click and drive. For simply posting a clickable link, you can use the little buttons at the bottom of the Post: box. You paste your link then go the begining of the link and click the url box. then you go to the end and click the url box again (which has magically changed to /url). Oh the marvels of technology....but as with anything... you have to check your work before turning it in. If you overclick you might have a plain url in brackets where a front slash url in brackets needs to be
  8. Thanks, Robert. As my father also used to say, "Discretion is the better part of valor." Thanks for the clicky fix. Perhaps you can tell me what do I need to do differently - I have been typing: 1. Bracket with "u," followed by an "r" followed by "l" and then another bracket. 2. Then, mymountainnews-wa URL 3. Then, [url/] I can't even write the bracket-url-bracket and have it post here. It just disappears. Bruce, In the case above, it is the ending listed in number 3 that is the problem. Just moving the slash to the left of "url" corrects the problem. It is as simple as that. Also, note that the slash is in the same location for the ending of "reply" as well as other things that the writer started and wants to end. It should also be noted that I cannot actually type in the correct "/url" with the brackets alone or else the DZ software will make its own changes to my post. Robert99
  9. 4000 words - BULL SHIT! I took your paragraph and corrected you STUPID errors and I can prove it ! THAT IS A DIRECT LIE! In the interest of self-preservation, maybe I should point out that the only thing I did to the above was correct an error so the clicky would work. Bruce and Jo did the rest. Robert99
  10. If you have read some of my previous posts, did you happen to notice any posts about the problems with the times and positions on the "official report" of the flight path? If you would look at the FBI map of the flight path you would see that there is a problem with an airliner, flying at a constant speed of about 3 nautical miles per minute, covering 3 nautical miles in one minute and then 6 nautical miles the next minute, then etc., etc.. That is not the way things work, and the above doesn't require any knowledge of rocket science to see the errors. So how does your "theory" explain the above problems? You don't need to "explain" why three bundles were together with their rubber banks in relatively good shape. That is a simple fact and must be accepted as such. And the fact is that the condition of the money indicates that it didn't travel any lengthy distance in the river or had been exposed to water for a lengthy period of time. Maybe you have a theory as to how the money got so far above the normal river water line? Since the money that was found was under a few inches of sand, perhaps digging up more sand in the right places would have revealed more money. Also, the Flushing Channel (which is located south of Caterpillar Island) between the Columbia River and Vancouver Lake was completed in the very late 1970s and has some small gates to feed water into Vancouver Lake when the River is at a rather high level. The main downstream exit from Vancouver Lake is about 15 miles or so downstream from the Lake where Lake River joins the Columbia. There is one very small exit located about 20 feet or so from the driveway into the diary farm. Otherwise, just remember that the NW Lower River Road is built on top of a levee and I assume you know the purpose of a levee. Actually, finding the money answers MORE questions than it asks. All you have to do is stick to facts and not try to fit things into a preconcieved theory. Robert99
  11. Blevins, Surely you can come up with better questions and answers than the above. Your questions 1 and 2 are basically the same. You assume that Cooper landed in water and that water then carried some of the money to Tena Bar. Despite all the rivers and lakes around the Portland/Vancouver area, the chances are much greater that Cooper would have landed on dry land than in water. And then what gives you the idea that Tena Bar is 20 miles off the flight path? I have just measured the distance from Tena Bar to the centerline of V-23 and it is less than 8 statute miles. And that includes the unproven assumption that the airliner was on the centerline of V-23 in the first place. How did the three bundles land in the exact same spot with nothing else found? Gravity, water, and wind are the only forces that could act on them after the jump. Maybe other bundles went on down stream or didn't make it out of the money bag. Your question 3 has been talked to death on this thread and I believe the general consensus of opinion is that the last thing a crook is going to do is throw his loot away unless the cops are about 10 feet behind him and gaining fast. Robert99
  12. (Italics added for effect) If "up the beach" means upstream (which is to the south at Tena Bar), then that makes it even more unlikely that the dredging had anything to do with the money. That is, the Columbia water flow, if it ever reached the money, would have carried the money "down the beach" or downstream (to the north). Robert99
  13. I don't know about the "Lifting", but it is certainy a "Devise". I second the "Great Scott" exclamation.
  14. Blevins, Please entertain a few questions. Your Mars writings, whatever they are named, result in some interesting situations: 1. How many heat shields does this Mars lander have? You have a cargo module heat shield and a lander heat shield. Just exactly how do you manage to get two (or more) heat shields on this vehicle and what is the overall vehicle configuration? 2. A "red hot" heat shield? Could you explain the difference between ablation, as used in heat shield design, and heat sinks, which are used in various ways and for various reasons? Why is it that all the space vehicles to date, that I am aware of and that used heat shields, used the abalation design? What color(s) are caused by the ablation of the heat shield? 3. There seems to be a problem with the time between the points 30,000 meters and 26,000 meters to touchdown. The 4000 meters covered in some unspecified time is less than three miles distance. Since the lander was between 75,000 and 80,000 feet above the Mars surface when this was happening, it was probably going at least Mach 1 or 2. In Earth air, Mach 1 is a function only of the air temperature. Making a wild guess and assuming it is the same for Mars air, and assuming a high temperature on the outer edge of the Mars atmosphere, then the lander could be going at least 1000 miles per hour. That computes to about 17 miles per minute or about 0.3 miles per second or about 10 seconds to cover the three miles. Your lander crew did a lot of things in that 10 seconds. 4. Your "head first, full power descent" is a problem. Generally speaking, the arrangement would be "feet first, full power descent" assuming that the rocket engine is pushing against the feet in the direction that the lander is coming from. Assuming, of course, that you want to slow the vehicle down so it can land. 5. Etc., Etc.. Robert99
  15. I guess it is time for me to start checking for a book on basket weaving or a related activity if I want to stay busy. Robert99
  16. Airtwardo, To put it another way, on your better half's flights to and from Paris, she has her quick don oxygen mask on above a certain altitude and has it in place and breathing oxygen at a still higher altitude. Same for her co-pilot. Robert99 Not in normal fight situations. The mask is donned only in an emergency or when 'alone' in the cockpit...as in a restroom break. The problem with the 'quick don on' is difficulty in communication. Can't use your personal head-set, and the cockpit mike won't pick up the muffled voice with a mask on. So for the most part no voice radios during an emergency until below 15...and general comm with flight is by keyboard only during a potty break. Keyboard? I must be getting old or something. Robert99
  17. Airtwardo, To put it another way, on your better half's flights to and from Paris, she has her quick don oxygen mask on above a certain altitude and has it in place and breathing oxygen at a still higher altitude. Same for her co-pilot. Robert99
  18. Bruce, No one is really basking in Tucson this weekend. A cold wave passed through yesterday morning, the night time temperatures are below freezing, and the outer portions of Tucson had snow yesterday. But it still beats the New England area. Robert99
  19. Jo, What is going on here? You are making peace with everyone except Blevins. You are even being polite with JT. And you are also burning your bridges behind you. Why don't you just come clean. Are you working on this CBS movie or whatever it is on the the Cooper hijacking? Be honest! Robert99
  20. FOR ROBERTMBLEVINS' BENEFIT: WAFFLE: 1. Fail to make up one's mind. 2. Speak or write at length in a vague or trivial manner. 3. A small crisp batter cake, baked in a waffle iron and eaten hot with butter or syrup. Which applies to your KC posts? Robert99
  21. Blevins, The information about the oxygen tanks was common knowledge. Neither Jo nor Gray were revealing anything new or for the first time. It just proves that neither is familiar with 1971 airline operations. Both might benefit by paying attention to the flight attendant's pre-flight demonstration. Your KC theory takes a hit when you claim that Cooper was lying when he said he didn't have a grudge against NWA. Assuming that Cooper was telling the truth about having a real bomb (rather than a fake), then can you name another single instance of where he lied about any meaningful thing? Cooper's overall lack of planning doesn't indicate that he was capable of giving such a cover-up answer on the spur of the moment as you suggest. I do not see anything in Cooper's actions or answers to suggest that he could possibly be KC or Duane Weber. Robert99
  22. Jo & RobertMBlevins, First, oxygen tanks on airliners. Anyone with their eyes open and who had the slightest idea of what they were looking at, saw one or more relatively small cylindrical objects in the cabins of 1971 commerical airliners. These objects were usually located very close to a stewardress's jump seat. They were light-weight portable oxygen tanks to be hand carried by the stews as they moved about the cabin helping passengers following cabin loss of pressure at altitude. The stew would plug her constant-flow mask into the tank and then she was mobile. The oxygen for the passengers came from other tanks either over the cabin area or beneath the cabin floor. It was supplied to the passengers through constant-flow masks that would drop down, at least in theory, when the cabin depressurized at altitude. If the portable tank was painted yellow, it was a low-pressure tank (about 400 PSI). If it was painted green, it was a high-pressure tank (about 2000 PSI). The ones I specifically remember were yellow. The cockpit crew had their own oxygen system that had more capabilities than described above. Perhaps 377 can find more information in his 727 manuals about the oxygen systems. Second, why did Cooper select NWA 305? According to various sources, Cooper specifically told Tina that he did not have anything against NWA. So that wasn't a reason. The stop in Portland had only been in effect for two or three months. So it was relatively new. I don't know how many stops NWA 305 had previously, but on November 24, 1971, it made a stop at Great Falls(?), another at Spokane, then Portland. It was a meandering flight that probably had a low passenger load factor normally between Portland and Seattle. Cooper was familiar with the Seattle area regardless of where he actually came from. The afternoon departure time from Portland was probably one of Cooper's main concerns since he had already decided on a night jump. The time Cooper specified for getting the money to the airport and the hijacked airliner back into the air was well after sunset. Also, getting the money from Seattle banks was definitely one of his concerns. The Seattle banks were probably still open when Cooper announced the hijacking and the amount of money he wanted. So NWA had a reasonable chance of meeting his demands on that point even though the banks would have to work with NWA and the FBI. The main thing Cooper wanted was a 727 since he knew it could be jumped. He got a 727 with relatively few people on board and he got it at the right time headed to Seattle. Everything else is secondary. Robert99
  23. If you had been paying attention a long time ago. You would know I was intouch with the church, the newspapers and chamber and many organizations trying to find out who the man was. I did extensive research by phone and emails. The cost of an ad with pic was more than I could afford. The church would not tell me who had offices in the visitors center that yr. It was suggested he might have been a pilot...as they contracted with airlines to transport personnel to locations. I got ZERO with this - anyone want to give it a try go for it. I have the pic that shows the Assembly Hall behind him and the close up I cropped from the photo....Duane DID NOT want this man to see him so he left the area from which I took the photo. My first try was BEFORE I got a computer in 2000 and then TWICE since then. Each episode involved lots of phone calls, lots of emails and lots of time. If I had told them he was connected to Cooper - I probably would have found out who he was. Maybe that is what I should do NOW by contacting the news media in Salt Lake and tell them I think this guy had something to do with the skyjacking in 1971. Since I plan on going public one more time - maybe this is the WAY to do IT. Get a journalist to run the pic - with the statement. WHO was this guy? Did he SKYjack a plane in 1971? Hey if anyone of you want to give it a try GO for it! A man would probably do better than I did and be able to keep it together better. ANYONE interested - I guarantee you if we find out who it was - the thread could SOLVE the case...or at least what Duane's connections to this man was....whatever Duane's connections to this man were - he DID not want the Man to see him! Late Sept around Noon 1979. The man was believed to work in or have an office or be associated with someone in the Visitors Center on the campus. Taken in front of the Assembly hall and was told he was going to a parking area across the street in the direction he was headed. Jo, If you expect anyone in Salt Lake City to help you, then it is definitely NOT a good idea to call Temple Square a "campus". Robert99
  24. Jo, In addition to seeing "codes" were none exist, you are reading more into that picture than it merits. First, that man does not have on a uniform. I am not a LDS but I have known plenty of LDS people over the years and have never seen one wearing a "uniform" in related to a church function and that includes Temple Square. Without exception, anyone working (actually most of the LDS people working on church matters are unpaid volunteers) on Temple Square is going to be dressed very conseratively. In fact, that can be said about most LDS volunteers from Salt Lake City to the remotest areas of Asia. And it is a true statement that you can recognize an LDS volunteer by the fact that he/she is conservatively dressed and well groomed, and they definitely have standards in that area. Robert99
  25. After moderating this thread for years, would even Quade dare to write a script with such an ending to the Cooper saga? Robert99
