    The little packs of silica gel you get with electronics and such work better than rice. They are specifically designed as dessicants. You need to put the silica gel in the oven at very low heat for an hour or so to dry them out before you will get much result from them. You are correct, but MOST people have way more rice than silica gel packs in their houses.     once on coach jumps can i pull at 8k for real, if i tell them my intention and let everyone know?? to practice canopy? is there a chance i will get lost and wind up miles away (i have nightmares about that btw lol) have you done it?? Once you're cleared for solo supervision, let the load know your intention (including the pilot) and get on the plane in the right order with them. I wouldnt do it on a coach jump. Sunset high hop and pop... thats a good way to end a day! Yes, you can end up far out, pay attention to where you are and where you're going. Have someone help you spot for the higher pull.     So long as it wasnt overwritten, you can use Recuva to recover the files. Plug it in like you normally would, set it up to connect via usb and run it on that drive. Pretty simple.     Yes, putting phones in DRY and UNCOOKED rice, sealed in a bag and put somewhere warm will allow the water to be absorbed by the rice. The pain in the ass part is if the water was contaminated, because then you have to flush the phone with mineral water (sometimes a few times) to get all of the scum out before you try to fire it back up, or you could let the magic smoke out.     I didnt know PD was still making PD-170's. Different designs have different pack sizes, best to CALL them and ask, they've done the research. As far as the Optimum 176, I sure as hell hope it will fit in place of a 160, or Im going to be shit outta luck! (The Optimum has a smaller pack volume than a 160, so I think it will work out) pd-160r microlines - 364 cu in, dacron lines - 385 cu in op-176 microlines - 355 cu in. But I aint no rigga yet, so i's cants tells ya the trufh. Call them at the voodoo place!
