  1. For you that may be the question, but not for me. I don't see any reason to believe there is any supernatural being in existence. In my opinion any belief in supernatural beings is just imagined.
  2. I think your argument is because we don't know everything means there could be a supernatural being. Well that is a very very weak argument, because it could be used to say anything could exist. Like unicorns! Many people claim the exitence of a deity or deitys. Yet no one can provide any evidence. Many claim that the existence of earth and the people on it is evidence of a deity or deitys. Yet there isn't anything to support that claim. There is plenty of evidence to support Evolution and the big bang theory. We don't have all of the evidence and can't prove everything, but there is enough to resonably believe that evolution and the big bang actually happened. Yet there is nothing to suggest a supernatural origin or any supernatural being exists.
  3. One of the posters claimed she had left her faith because at age 8 she felt her mind was tuned to logic and science. I stated that I find that silly, logic and science do not preclude the existence of a supernatural being. It is just as silly as not believing in logic and science because your mind is tuned to (insert any religion). Logically there is no evidence to support the existence of anything supernatural. So using science and pure logic there is no reason to think there is any such thing as god. Not sure what you think is silly about that. The scientific burden is not to prove something doesn't exist, but to prove that it does exist.
  4. No The argument you just invented for me is indeed very weak. It also wasn't my argument as put forward in my original post and repeated in posts therafter. I didn't invent that argument. It's what I read in you writings. If that isn't what you meant then explain what you did mean. I don't understand why anyone would resort to a supernatural explaination for anything. There is no evidence of anything supernatural. It is better to say "I don't know" then to say some mythical god did it.
  5. I think it would easier and quicker to learn to sit fly in the tunnel then the sky. I learned in the sky and have had to fix bad habits in the tunnel.
  6. The assumption that what is not yet scientifically proven, can be scientifically proven. So I guess we should just give up and say "God" did it? Is that what you are trying to say? Your argument is very weak and really doesn't compare to the assumptions made in believing in a deity. Past performance supports the belief that we can learn and that we haven't reached the limit of what we as humans can learn about the world around us. So what you consider to be an assumption has much to support it as opposed to any deity.
  7. Assumption #1. Witches float. Oh yeah! forgot about that one!
  8. Spacer Foam (is this purely comfort as well?) Cut in Laterals (think these are really needed?) Both of these are for comfort not function, but that is important. I would get them. I have spacer foam on my Vector Micron and have never regretted it.
  9. What assumptions do you think science is based on?
  10. No one uses science or anything as proof that a supernatural body does not exist. The absence of evidence of anything supernatural is enough. As soon as someone comes up with real evidence that can be tested scientifically that a supernatural being exists then I will believe.
  11. well if you're gonna go, just just do it! spit in my face, then spit in God's face! Why all this pretense? Good luck! Wow! feeling a little threatened. eh! Maybe a little insecure?
  12. Nice! Some more holy sarcasm from RonD1120! Apparently he must at a loss for an intelligent rebuttal!
  13. Your scripture doesn't mean much. My life isn't any better or worse for not believing in god. There is no evidence to support the existence of any deity. There is no refuge in an imaginary being. If I were in the military I would believe that disobeying would have swift consequences. Not difficult to believe, unlike belief in an imaginary being.
  14. In order to obey one must first believe.
  15. I agree. Many Christians seem to get very offended when they find out I am an atheist and are very rude. You would think the love thy neighbor part of their doctrine would kick in at that point but they tend to forget that part pretty easily. RonD1120's initial reply is a good example. He was being very condescending and mocking. Just because he goes on to claim he wasn't doesn't change the tone of his original post. He needs to reread what he posted.
  16. So what you are saying is stop questioning and just believe. I am not impressed.
  17. I have been in your shoes. I found that many religous people are very offended by the thought that anyone doesn't believe in god. The whole turning the other cheek or love thy neighbor quickly goes out the window.
  18. LOL, nice one! I think there is a good reason why more experienced jumpers are less likely to advocate downsizing quickly. The results are often very harsh. His post advocate fewer rules and more of a free for all, because we have better instructors as opposed to years past and people apparently progress faster now and shouldn't be held back. I find that to be very naive.
  19. For someone who has so few jumps you have a very naive view of the sport. If you make it to 1000 jumps you will think differently. That is not to imply you will get hurt or die before 1000 jumps. It's just that not very many people last in this sport, besides getting hurt or killed they either can't afford it or lose interest.
  20. I am a big fan of Vertical Suits. They make a very high quality and durable suit that looks great and the customer service is top notch.
  21. It's not very strange, it's politics as usual. It wouldn't have mattered if the Pres. was Democrat or Republican the result would most likely have been the same. Politicians jumped on the oportunity to be seen as fighting racism. I think they would be less likely to apologize or even investigate if the lady was white.
  22. I have been flying a lot this year. I nearly always just do carry on. This last trip I happened to get a seat in the 5th row so I didn't board the plane till late and had trouble finding room in the overhead compartments for my bag. The planes can't accomodate everyone having a carry on bag so it's better to get one of the seats in the back or pay extra for first class so you get seated earlier. Other then that I haven't had any issues with carry on luggage.
  23. I think you are stretching it a little. It's this kind of lawyer type bullshit that I really don't like. The single "another" should be enough to signify that someone else needs to sign your log book and not you. That is the common interpretation. An S&TA is unlikely to support you signing your own log book as a pilot.
  24. It's an interesting read. I think it leans just a little too much towards conspiricy theory.
  25. Yes, the video will sharper and clearer with a better quality lens. If you play video samples using a Raynox 5050 or 3030 lens then using your diamond lens back to back on an HD TV you will notice the difference right away.
