  1. There is very little evidence Jesus existed, much less was crucified or whatever!!
  2. Competition has really kept me going. VFS is takes so much time and effort to be any good at, that I don't see myself getting bored with it any time soon.
  3. Walmart is setup for using flash drives and it is very easy to use. I think the majority of people will want a DVD that they can just pop into their player and play. They won't want to play it on their computer or deal with burning it to DVD. I think having the option of putting it on a flash drive would be a good idea, but having it as the only option would frustrate a lot of people.
  4. hmm kinda light on the vector math area, don't ya think?
  5. Well if you don't feel comfortable with the added risk that comes with doing large formations then it is a good reason to not do them.
  6. Spotting or pulling high is often not an available option on big formations.
  7. I would say that person does not fully understand just how easy it is to be seriously injured or killed while skydiving. It doesn't take much of a distraction to find yourself in bad situation. Even highly experienced and current skydivers can be distracted, but often they have the skills and the focus to deal with a less then ideal situation. The best option is not to allow yourself to be put into a bad situation, but it doesn't always work out that way.
  8. I had a spinning malfunction for my first and only cut away so far and I remember thinking at first that I could fix this ..... then OK I running out of time and altitude damn I am going to have to cut this away. As I was thinking cut away I pulled my my handle then started to go for my reserve and was already feeling the reserve opening as touched my reserve handle.( Skyhooks are fast ) Wasn't really any time to get scared. Once I landed I could really feel the adrenaline. My main didn't go very far. I was able to walk over and pick it up. Someone else picked up my pilot chute and bridle. Dropped it all off with the local rigger and then borrowed a rig and kept on jumping with my team!
  9. Back tracking has it's place. It's a needed skill for head down bigways, but is only used as a transition from head down/driving forward to belly tracking. Assuming a head down turn to 180 degrees from the center of the formation. This is something that requires a lot of practise. I try to do this on all my VFS 4 way training jumps so that I make it a habit. It also keeps me from running into our video guy. Also a key part of this is adding a brief pause after turning so that you have time to see if there is anyone in the way.
  10. Damn!! That's a big chip on your shoulder! I think you are reading too much into that post. I didn't see anything negative toward BASE.
  11. My guess is that the cut away was on his second wing suit jump and he owes beer for an earlier jump with the wing suit.
  12. That is a low estimate. It doesn't include AFF or that many DZ's are now charging $25 a jump. Oh yeah, and it doesn't include any injuries. Skydiving is dangerous. You can't assume you won't get injured no matter how many jumps you have.
  13. CRW would teach canopy control and discipline. It could be no touch CRW where you would learn to fly in formation and deal with other canopies in close proximity. I think that would be a very useful experience for many people.
  14. Not any of the games that oocur on the weekend. I am usually busy skydiving.
  15. yeah, I forgot about that. Not sure how often they use that. I asked about those at SVCO and they werent really enthusiastic about using them.
  16. It seems as though there is more to this then just the door opening. It seems as though there is more then just the door opening that caused the firing parameters to be met. Otherwise I would think there would be more of these incidents.
  17. They won't let you use an actual skydiving rig in the tunnel. The tunnel might have a dummy rig available.
  18. I wouldn't say it's completely useless. I have seen people fly atmonauti on tracking dives with others flat tracking. On the tracking dives at Skydive Dallas we usually start out steep to get everyone together and then the leader flattens it out as the dive pregresses to see how many people can keep up. It's a good way to learn to flat track. btw I wasn't necessarily directing my comments at you, just wouldn't want someone reading this to try atmonauti to track away from their next large formation. It's like anything else you have to practise to be any good at it.
  19. Just an observation, but I wouldn't want to try something new on a large formation. Chances are on the first try you will lose altitude very quickly and you will end up far below everyone else with very little distance covered. Not sure that I would want to use atmonauti for large RW formations. If you have never done atmonauti then get somone who has experience with atmonauti to help. Atmonauti is somewhere between head down and tracking. I have never used it to track away from a formation. On big way HD formations we turn 180 degrees from the center and then drive forward transitioning from HD to back tracking then barrel roll to a regular track.
  20. You should always be prepared to adjust your plan on each and every jump. But ALWAYS have a plan to start with.
  21. Not always better, but definitely cheaper.
  22. I was called a Yankee once and it took me a few minutes to realize they actually meant it as a slur!!? I thought it was funny. I don't usually get the hispanic slurs because I don't look hispanic.
