There is no evidence of this spirit you talk about.
-
It's odd how you expect everything to have been proven with regards to science yet we should consider the possibility of a deity existing despite no evidence at all. Kind of a double standard there.

I have a pair of sportrx G117 goggles that I used for a long time. I also just bought a pair of Liquid Eyewear sunglasses that I am now using for skydiving. I like Liquid sunglasses much more then my sportrx. www.liquideyewear.com

I think that percentage would depend on the time of year and weather. Right now it's 100 degrees outside and it would really suck to be riding a bike to work and back. Even though it's cooler in the morning it's not that much cooler and I would need a shower once I got to work. It just wouldn't work out.

I suspect the second group is much larger the the third group when it comes to bicycle transportation. I don't see myself ever using a bicycle to go back and fourth to work.

Are they the same members that competed in 08 at Arizona? -
Right, I was only describing what to do if you can't keep up with the group.

LOL, I read a lot and when I got first dial up account I couldn't think of a user name so I just looked around and Beowulf has always been one of my favorite books. Do some research on evolution and the big bang. The information out there is not that hard to understand. How they measure the movement of stars, planets and everything else isn't that complicated. While not everything is known or understood, based on the information available it makes much more sense then some mysterious being that no evidence of exists called god or allah or whatever, did it.
-
And I agree that there is some evidence that the "Big Bang Theory" created the earth. There is still much we don't know about it, until science and technology catches up to being able to prove or disprove some of it. We also don't know much about what was there before the "Big Bang". There is no reason to believe that a power we not yet understand was at work. We might even call that supernatural at this point in time. We are at the beginning stages of being able to control technology by just thinking about it, controlling it with our brain waves. 50 Years ago that comment alone would have had people laugh at you and declare you insane. 500 years ago, it would have gotten you killed for being "supernatural". Most of you are caught up in this discussion on organized religion and your own assumptions of what a god or deity would or would not be. All I mentioned was that ruling out a superpower of some sort would be closed minded. Using your logic then there is no reason to believe that unicorns don't exist and didn't create the universe! No evidence of them just like any deity, but no reason to disbelieve? Right? Wrong, I require some sort of evidence before I am going to believe in something.

Yeah they are! I didn't know they had such a strong 4 way VFS team. I am big fan of 4 way VFS, hopefully there will be alot of teams at Nationals this year. It's very hard to tell who is going show, other then the usual teams like Arsenal and Standard. I am planning on being there with Team Vertex from Skydive Houston. -

Wish we could see some of the video. -
Part of the predive organizing for tracking dives is drawing out what to do if you can't stay with the formation. I haven't done many tracking dives lately, so just off hand anyone that can't keep up should do their best to keep the formation in front of them and watch for break off and turn and track 180 from the formation also open at the proper altitude. Making sure you have the correct plan for tracking dives is critical so you don't track over or near other groups. I agree that keeping the tracking dive smaller and having people with similar skill levels will make the dive safer.

Ok, so you think that because lots of people believe in god it makes it more likely that god exists even though there is no evidence?
-
Sure. Find me a concept, widely repeated around the world, of the involvement of a unicorn in the creation of the earth or the universe. Wide spread belief does not increase the credibility or make any deity more likely to exist.
-
Yes, but it does entertain for little while.
-
Which also makes it closed minded to disgard the possibility of a deity. I didn't disregard the possibility. Till there is evidence there is no reason to believe in any deity. Otherwise it's just a superstitious belief. Show me some solid scientific evidence demonstrating the existence of a deity and I will change my mind on the subject. Right now there is the same amount of evidence to support the existence of the Christian God, Allah, Vishnu, Odin and the myriad of other gods. Which one you believe in is mostly determined by the culture you grew up in.

The only time I use a barrel roll is when on head down formation after turning 180 from the center and driving forward away from the formation I transition from head down to back and then barrel roll to my belly and track away from the formation. I don't spend much time on my back. I don't see any need to barrel roll before pull time. I guess I shouldn't say barrel, instead a half barrel roll would be more accurate.

There are lots of things in life that I don't have control of, in fact the only thing I really have any control over is myself. The decisions I make and most improtantly how I react to the world around me defines me and the quality of my life. I have not seen any evidence of any deity. I think it is very narrow minded and superstitous to think that what we don't understand is the work of some god. By doing so you limit your ability to learn and understand the world around you. Imagine if no one had ever questioned the belief that the earth was flat or that lightning was caused by gods. How little we would know about the world around us!

Sky Tie - do you use one or not!?

I bought one and was not impressed it didn't hold up very well. It broke and lost one of the magnets. -
Why does God have to be supernatural? Anymore than quantum entanglement is supernatural. They both are very natural, just undefinable and unmeasurable. Is the Higgs boson supernatural with its infinite power to define matter? Maybe supernatural is just a term for those who are intimidated by the big picture. Covering their eyes and ears so they only see what they want to see. You can call it whatever you want. There still isn't any evidence of any deity.
-
No, what did I say that led you to believe that? I simply agreed that our "starting place" is greatly influenced by our environment, parents, culture, etc. I didn't think you had that opinion, just curious.
-
So are you of the thought that all paths lead to the same place?
-
I suppose so, but with out evidence they are just interesting imaginings. Science is the attempt to make sense of the world using logic and evidence. If there isn't any evidence then it isn't of much use.

That trust has been earned. Just like I trust my wife of 36 years w/o reservation. Why? Because she has earned that. God/JC has certainly earned my trust w/o reservation. The interesting thought is if you had been born to muslim parents you would be saying the same thing about Allah. Or possibly hindu parents then you would most likely feel as strongly about their gods as you do for the christian god. Very likely In my opinion that lessens the credibility of any of the deitys. If belief simply depends on where you were born or what your parents believed then it isn't really all that likely to be "the truth" as so many Christians like to claim of their faith.
