what's up well, dare i say it, but yes i did my FIRST round jump today. and it was fuckin awesome. so much fun. went up and did a nice little 4 way with my dad and some other jumpers from around the dz. i had a nice STAND UP landing right in front of the hanger. i think i'm going to buy one now, just have have to keep me in check, ya know let me know how good we have it now. and the gear was: mark 2 paracamander (i think like 24' or 23') lo-po 26' and a piggy back style rig, not sure what it really was. i'll post some pics of the gear tomorrow when i get it packed back up (or when i get my dad to come out and help me pack it, 'cause i don't have a clue how to really) and yes, i owe lots and lots of beer later

well, it's kind of weird. it's in relation to the other A lines. they are all pretty much even, and then the outer A's are about 2 to 2 1/2 shorter. at first i thought it was just the trim of the canopy, but when i checked 2 other safires, with vectran (which has very minimal, to none, shrinking or streching) it was way off. later

i'm thinking (not possitive on this) but like 500 or so. later

any program is good. every student comes out the same weather they take aff, s/l or iad, or tandem progression (which turns into aff after a couple tandems). s/l or iad will be A LOT less than aff or tandem progression. and for the most part, at least at my dz, we can get s/l students done faster, say if they wanted to get their A license a soon as they can, we recomend s/l. the aff is a bit more "intense" training at first. they hit you with a lot of information, where as s/l it comes when you have more skydives. edit: any jumper that just got their A that took aff or tandem will be just as good as a jumper that just got done with s/l or iad, it's all the same in the end. just my .02 later

my suggestion would be to stay IN the camper with the friends if there's a extra couch or something. that would be the best idea it seam like. as far as the nig noggery, well, the rv park last year was pretty quiet (which isn't so bad, you can actually sleep) later

to help lew enforce what she is saying, her safire outer A lines are about 2" to 2 1/2" out of trim. later

ya i did. and pip rivers (sp?? freefly coach at zhills) was up doing an aff pre coarse at my dz about a month ago, and he words are, you didn't even try if the brakes are still stowed. hell, dude has like 13,000 jumps, and no cut aways on a sport rig. now, do i think gary should of cut away, ya, it didn't look like he was too high, that's why i'm always trying to be sitting in the saddle at 3k. later
-
so uh, why didn't he release the other brake? later
-
well, i never "cutaway" i guess. i have been around/worked at dropzones ever since i was born. so there wasn't anything that i had to "cutaway" from, because i've always been in/around it. later

from pd's web site "How many Spectres has Performance Designs sold?" and the answer is 6178 dude said 6200 and some otheres were close. here's what pd says: Since a few jumpers were equally close to the correct answer, a coin was used to determine the winner. later

that would pack um really big, but i bet it would fly cool later
-
i'll be there (i'd hope i would since it's at my home dz ) . it's an rockin boogie. later
-
i heard it was going to be a mid performance canopy. and it wouldn't really have a "name". it would only have a symbol. being the symbol in the bottom right corrner of the page. later

what's up i was just wondering if anyone in the indiana/ohio area was coming to richmond for the freefly jam with colon berry and jon stewart. it should be a good weekend of jumping, getting some good freefly's in. later
-
went to the dz about 2 pm. got there just in time to pack up and make the load, with only 2 tandems and me and vern. next load, colon berry had shown up for the freefly jam this weekend, and did a 3 way with him and vern. and then missed the last load (it was a slow friday) because i had to pack some rigs. oh well, not bad for a friday after noon when i thought i was going to be cleaning up the gear room

i like them both. i have jumped them both, and i think both are great canopies. i think they are very similar in flight. one has light front riser pressure (xaos) and one has heavy (vx). the other has heavy rear riser pressure (xaos) and the other has light (vx). toggle pressure is the same. i think both are great canopies. both open well, as long as you have a newer vx. the vx, you have to be a bit more ontop of your hook altitude because of the heavy riser pressure, you can't like add more riser if your a bit high, compared to the xaos you can. either canopy your going to be very happy with. the velocity is also another choice, it is a great canopy. you would be happy with any of the 3. all have great swoops, and nice openings. later

someone with the same theory as me, it doesn't matter how small your main is, as long as you have a decent sized reserve to land ya when you get open at 500 ft over the city. later
-
don't be. my dad had a canopy that went out of trim in 50 jumps. it was nuts, i didn't think it could go out that fast, but it did. have your rigger check the brake lines. later

sorry to hear that. but at least part of the day was good, right. but having to loose your dog sucks. i'm sorry to hear that for sure. later
