  1. well, i put a 135 heatwave in a container made for a 230 skymaster. that was pretty fuckin scary. i reached back on a hop'n pop and felt the container open. so i switched that right out. then for my current container, i have put a 74 vx in it, and i guess it is made for like a 120 non x-braced. that wasn't bad. i also put a 85 comp cobalt in there, it again, wasn't bad. later
  2. i didn't say you wouldn't get more performance, but you could get about the same performance under a different type of canopy with a bit of "room for error" i guess you could say. and like you said, it is just begging to be loaded more. later
  3. that sucks man. just sucks. blue sky's ian. later
  4. for the most distance and all that stuff (performance, flare and all) i would say about 1.8 or 1.9. now, you will get great performance down to 1.5 or so and all the way up to about 2.3. i have jumped one at 2.2 (89) and still had a lot of flare at the end. i would be comfortable jumping one at a much higher wing loading. but i wouldn't go over 2.2 or under 1.5, other wise you mine as well go xbraced or to a lower performance canopy. later
  5. tell ya what bill. send me a new v3 308, and i'll go and cut it away for ya. i mean, i would only do it for you (or any other rig manufacteror that wants to give me a rig to go cut away ) later
  6. i was waiting for someone to mention that. later
  7. that may be a bit high, but just try it. if it's too high, eithet A. use that same altitude and make that turn longer or B. use that same turn, but start at 550 instead of 650, and so keep going a bit lower until it is right. later
  8. i'll be working at rantoul again. so i'll be there for all 10 days. everyone come visit my while i'm packin. you can find my at martini shot. and like yoshi said, i'll be at the richmond boogie, but that wasn't one of the options. later
  9. sweet. i guess it's a good thing i cleaned it huh. later
  10. ok, so i took the sponge, got it wet, and it started to work. so then i went to the theory my dad had, to get something oil based, then try to get it off. and sure enough, it worked. so now you all know how to get gum off the inside of your drier if u leave gum in your pocket. later
  11. man, i wish there was an icon that had someone giving you the finger later
  12. the thing is, it's not a ball, it's all spread out. later
  13. what's up well, it's kinda related to laundry. i have washed and dried a pair of shorts, that i guess i left a pack of gum in. and now the gum is all over the inside of the drier. so, my question is, do any of you know how to get gum off something like that? and yes, i know i'm a dumbass, you don't have to tell me. thanks
  14. check out the pst site. i believe they have some models of thier courses, and a description of what size gates they use. later
  15. cough cough, i seam to remember someone packing a total for, um who was it, that's right, it was jonny. it's ok though, it was a pull out, and he should of taught you how to pack it, and he should of checked it. later
  16. no, because in a essence, they caused it. they let you pack, they could of packed it themselves. later
  17. ~~~~~~~~~~~~vibes~~~~~~~~~~~~ now, where's my rig later
  18. i don't have one, but the only real reason is i didn't have the money for one, and i like to do some 2 stacks sometimes, so i decided i didn't really need one. later
  19. if he has vectran line, he needs to replace em at that time, it has nothing to do with how clean your packing aera is. edit: i take that back, you do need a clean packing area, but with vectran line, it will wear out faster (if you jump very much) anyway. later
  20. no apologies needed, i really should of made it clear what i was trying to say. i don't want to give the impression at all that i think it's good to overload any reserve.
  21. exacally. i have seen the oposite. i have a friend that broke his back, because he had a small reserve, and was just wishing he had a larger reserve. later
  22. ok, i guess i wasn't too clear. i never ment to say "i recomend your overload your reserve." i totally agree it is the dumbest thing you could ever do. but what i was stating, is that it will handle the weight, it may not be a good idea to load it at that, but it can do it. i recomend, to anyone, for a first rig or any rig for that matter, a wing loading of 1 to 1. it is the best thing to do, and just because you want a small rig or be cool, isn't a reason to get a small reserve, period. in fact, there isn't a reason in the world i can really think of to have a small reserve *and yes, i do have a smaller reserve, i know this. they didn't really want to build me a rig to fit a 85 and a bigger reserve* later
  23. i have rode the plane down several times do to clouds. i have a lot of respect for the pilots, and i will not jump through clouds. it is dangerous, and illegal (in the US anyway), and i would rather ride the plane down, and have the pilot keep his license to jump another day. i have also riden the plane down with students that didn't go. just to make sure they don't freak out or anything. later
  24. heres the thing, i know the guy who designed the tempo reserve. the reserves are very stong actually. they are rated at the same weight and speed as any reserve out there (assuming it's c23-c, some that are new at c23-d) the reason for the lighter max weight is for the best flight performance. you will get the best glide, and flare from that wing loading. i am about 200 out the door, and i have used a tempo 150 before, and it landed great. later
