i have been told this buy a certain manufacturer (actually the designer of the canopies), and i won't say who. but they told me that almost every canopy out their isn't the size that they say. they may kinda go up or down in the size they actually say it is. like a 120 my be a 115 or a 125. a 170 might be a 168 or 180 even. later

what's up i seam to remember this little bit of video that i say from the convention, that will give any video guy/girl a huge ego booster. if you have ever missed the shot, or taken out the base, don't worry about it any more. norman kent took out a 6 way base this past week at rantoul, right off exit. so if normen kent can screw up and get away with it, ANYONE can.

so, does she want to kill me?? even though, those brakes were set, i think they caught on a corner or the rig or something. but who knows later
-
ok, the info i got was a bit off. she does have a broken femur, but only a fractured hip socket. they put a rod in her leg today, and have decided to let the hip heal on it's own. later

no, i was saying, maybe this guy (not sure who it is) was using triple's not the pd guys. sorry for making that unclear. ya, i just found out what that is. i was talking to TJ langren, it's called the J mod. it is for using rear risers, instead of just pulling down the C and D lines, you have a line that goes to the cascades on the brake lines from the rear risers. so then you pull down more of the tail when using rears. he also said it only works on the 7 (21 what ever...) cells, not the 9's. later
-
well, i'm not sure about the brake lines being outside of the guide rings (i haven't even seen the pic your talking about) but it could be a set up like the PD team uses, to take off the slider. and then have triple riser, but it may only be a piece of like 550 dacron or something, that may not show up in a pic (if the quality isn't very good). that's what i think, but again, i haven't seen the pic. later

lew has a bit more than her femur. she also broke her hip socket tons and tons of vibes for lew and cajones. later

almost every canopy comes with a collapsable slider. i haven't seen a canopy with-out one in a long time, like only on student canopes. are you thinking of a collapable pilot chute?? later

all i have to say is fuck off. lets see you come out here and show me how it's done later

Opinions please: open corners for non wingsuit jumps
skygod7777 replied to gus's topic in Gear and Rigging
my personal rig that is pull out doesn't have corners. i unstitched them. i was getting a little bit of a delay, and i decided it was because it was too tight in the container (it was built for a 79 fx, not a 85 vx). i have no problems at all, and it fixed the little delay i had also. later -
i have "heard" of a couple breaking, but that could of just been someone talking shit at the dz, who knows. but we have had several bending, from my dz alone. later
-
bent, and it was very "soft". like i said in the other thread, i didn't do the test myself, it was my dad, and he told me about it right after it happened *i was only about 10 feet away packing*. later

oh no, you suck because your not coming. that's not my fault you have to go and make money doing that work stuff, what kind of fun it that.

what's up i was wondering if there is going to be any kind of swoop comp at rantoul? i know there was going to be one, but it was canceled. i looked on freefall.com but didn't see anything. thanks
-
i may, but i don't think i'll get there until like 11:30 or 12:00 tomorrow night. i should have you cell, i know i have ed's anyway. i think i got both of them when we all where supposed to go to O'Charlie's that one night, and we didn't and when you got back, that's when i got both of them. also, is that your jeep that's at the airport? the dark blue one, bumber stickers all over the back. just wondering, trying to figure out who's it is. later

the manufactorer should be able to tell you if you call them. if it is about the test, i'd get it done. i mean, who says that the ones from november of 2001 are the only bad pins. we had one fail that wasn't in that time frame (it was made in october of 2000) later
-
don't ask my, ask them. all i know is when i called them, they told me what i have said above. oh well, it takes 5 min. to do. and test one only tests the pin, test 2 tests everthing (like the little ball at the other end of the cord) later
-
they've been talking about sending me one since it came out (maybe even before). they wanted me to jump like a 78 or something like that. and now they still want me to try at 90 or something. i may, but i dought it will have the performance i would be looking for in a canopy, but i may be surprized. who knows later
-
damnit, the video won't work for me. oh well later
-
we'll see............. later
-
no no no. one of the two test must be done before the next jump. if you do test one then, at the next repack test 2 must be done still. if you do test 2 before the next jump, if you got a repack, then you don't have to do test 1. this is exactly what capwell said. and i'll get back to you on the DOM of the rig, i found out is is older than nov. 2001, but i still need to find out if the handle has ever been replaced. we will be caling capewell monday for further details i'm sure (not me more than likely my dad) later

tell ya what, if you go buy some dowl (spelling??) rods, then we'll set it up. hell, we'll have a littl competition, distance, and accracy. later
