right now the current delievery time for standard is about 11 weeks, so if you cut that in half it's 5 1/2 weeks. paige just e-mailed me about an order i put in (rushed), and said about 4 to 5 weeks. but she just put through two other orders rush, and said they where done in like 3 weeks. so it is very possible. later

i went to the pro swooping tour web site, and where it list the top 10 for the world cup meet, it gives the county and the canopy, well, next to jim slaton it says USA, GX. check it out here: http://proswoopingtour.com/FrontPage.htm towwards the bottom later

i haven't done this to mine (or any other canopy i've ever had) but the reason why is you can't do it to vx's. only to the 7 cell canopies. on the vx's the brake lines are too far out and pulls it in towards the center of the canopy. you put it on the riser where you sliks or hard links are, like just another line on the link or slink, and then goes up the the brake line, where it cascades out. as far as i under stood, no slack, so as soon as you pull on the rears, it's pulling the tail down. but you still have slack in you brake line from the cascade down to the toggle, so you still don't pull the tail down when doing your hook. again, i have never done it, but i have talked to a few people about. other people call it the "J" mod. later

i'll look around for ya, but i'm kinda dumb when ever i try to find someone, so it may be easier to find me. here's the best pic of me that i have: http://www.printroom.com/ViewGalleryPhoto.asp?shopperid=STEJX9P1B0P89M0QJK52U9FFEJMWA6S0&userid=lowhook&gallery_id=22350&image_id=20 look for my tattoo on my right let, i'll be wearing shorts later

i'm sure we'll get a jump in. the teams only do like 5 or 6 jumps a day, that won't take all day. and i think tuesday is a rain day, and the way the weather looks, i don't think they'll have to use it. so that means another free day for me.
-
well, i will for sure, but shortbus may not have a canopy (he needs to borrow one, and isn't sure if he can get one). we'll be down like friday at some point, and then all the way until tuesday. i don't start packing for the team until sunday, so i have a free day or 2
-
well, i just found out today that i'll be going . me and dan (shortbus) will be leaving about 3 o'clock tomorrow. i can't wait. it should be fun later
-
well, let's put it this way, i don't recomend doing them, but if your going to, here's how it ends up finishing in all harness, but i can get about 540, and if i'm not hung over from the night before, i can get 720. i start with both, and then end up letting the oposite one up, and then gradually letting the other one up, and finish in harness, with maybe a little bit or rear riser that way too.
-
for me, ya, it's just the fun factor. not really, because you can adjust it all the way through, you look kinda ahead of where your going (like down, and to the right if you hook to the right, between your arm and body). you just keep going until you need to come out. that's how i do it anyway, that and a 1080, now those are fun. edit: but there's nothing better than doing a phat double front 270 for a nice long swoop.

is it a habit, no, but every once in a while, i may bust one out . and i would prefer to have that option to do that if i want to. later

High wingload/Low Jumps at your DZ (over 1.7)
skygod7777 replied to base698's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
i think at my dz there is one or two that have less than 400 jumps and jump a wing loading of 1.8 these people are very closely watched by the more experienced pilots, and S&TA to make sure they don't do anything stupid. those guys also are well above the "average" 300 jump person under canopy and in the air. other than that, we don't have much of a poblem with people jumping high wing loadings and few jumps. later -
that's what someone said to me yesterday, but for some odd reason my skydiving didn't show up last month. oh well. later

that is what my neptune told me i was going coming out of a couple spirals yesterday. this was at about 2000' or 1800' or so. when i did the math, it came out to 82.5 m/h. if this is right, then i'm thinking i may not do to many big hook turns any more, due to i think my cypres may fire (considering they fire at 78m/h). when i called SSK about this matter, they told me that the cypres knows when your under canopy, and when your in freefall. but my question is, how does it not know that i didn't cut away (i forgot to ask em)?? and then i was also thinking, well how accurate is the neptune?? does anyone know? oh ya, they way i figured it up was 121ft/sec x 60 x 60 and then divided by 5280, right?? later

what's up we have a problem (when i say we, i mean my dad and possibly my dz) but someone has decided they needed my dad's seal press more than he does. so, the symbol is SOG, if you see any "new" riggers out there that have that symbol PLEASE let me know, this is just unsafe for people out there, and then if this person does use it, and has a mal on a reserve, now people would think it was my dad that packed it. to get ahold of me or my dad our e-mails are mine: skygod84@aol.com my dad's: xfire139@aol.com it has been missing for a few weeks now, and i thought i may have fell in behind the packing table in the gear room in richmond (there was a mass of old canopies that where under the table), but me and DJ just cleaned that out this past week. what happens is his gear box gets used a lot (and all the other riggers boxes) for randem things, people coming in and using the scissors, a wrench, what ever, and he doesn't mind, but even then some of his (and mine, and other riggers there) rigging tools haven't come back. so now, we just don't leave our stuff there, but we could still use some help finding it. thanks

dude, that is funny as hell later

from the sounds of it, it would be a really good deal. even if you don't like the flight characteristics of the main, for 850 for a good container, reserve, and cypres, it's worth it (considering the container is in good shape). you need to find out how much life time is left on the cypres. it may not be very long. either way, it sounds pretty good, and for a first rig, it sounds really good. just make sure that you are confortable landing a 170 reserve (if you had to use it). i mean, you've been jumping a 288, downsizing to a 200, and would if you have a cut-away, are you sure you can land a 170?? for me personally, it never made any sence to have a smaller reserve than a main, it is your last chance, at least it should be the same size, in my opinion. later

Spinoff thread: pros and cons of soft links (main or reserve)
skygod7777 replied to The111's topic in Gear and Rigging
i don't think that i posted it, but this has happened to my dad. got down, and went to pick up his canopy, and a whole line group fell off. about made him puke when he saw (so freaked out). it also happened to a friend of mine, and he had just done a big phat hook, 540, and when he went to pick up his canopy, about 3 line fell off. we're not sure why my dad's happened, but john's happened becuase he over tightened the mini link, and cracked the barrel. later -
