  3. right, i have taken my canopy, just put in the first 2 lockin stow and free stowed the rest and couldn't tell a difference in the openings from when i stowed all the line but about a foot. i usally leave about 2' or 2.5' from my last stow. but like you said, if the canopy gets out of the bag before the rest of the lines let go, then you have a problem. but the lines letting lose before the locking stows, well that makes almost no difference. later

  10. i don't have any pics but i'll try to explain what it is from what my buddy dominic hayhurst has told me about it and what i saw of it at PIA. where the regular pouch for the lines are there are elasic pieces sewn down where you pull the "bite" of line thru. like on the old military (or maybe they still use em) rigs where you pulled the bit thru a pice of like binding tape. aerodyne has just taken that idea and used elasitic to make it not hold as tight. that may seam unclear, if it does sorry. hopefully someone will explain it better. later

  15. i usually have them leave the main with me so i can look it over too. but i take i don't totally take it out, i just pull the pin and roll it out. on my rig if i'm in a hurry for some odd reason i leave the main in (only for lets say trying to get it packed to make and airplane to go the FL, no i've never done that , or getting ready for rantould have break my last bit of seal thread) everyone i know except for my dad takes the main out, he doesn't care either way. that's how i used to but i find it a bit easier to tell if the corners are filled up good if the main isn't there. later
  16. haha, that's funny. i will be down in that area in a week or so, i'll have to have someone show me the video, if jay doesn't have it. has vern ate the pond yet?? later
  17. so jason has done this twice now. i know him from my home dz, if you see him tell him kelly said he's a dumbass later
  18. that's a damn good question, i have neve not been exposed to skydiving, i've grown up around it. i mean when you dad owned a dz since you were a very small kid, all you ever really think about is wanting to make a skydive and then when you finally do, you think about what you're going to do on you next jump or what you could do. so i really don't know what i would be thinking about, more than likely something like an "extreme" sport of some kind. i'm sure i would of found some other exciting hobby and would just be thinking about that. i know a few jumpers that started jumping and would think, man what did i used to do on weekends before i started jumping. later
  19. either canopy is a great canopy for freeflying, or camera. the vx used to have bad openings, but they have worked that problem out now. mine was build in november of last year and it opens like a dream (a good 600 foot snivel, not a crossfire opening, but enough to slow down and then open). the xaos has a longer snivil time, but i really think there is no reason for it. the vx has high front riser pressure, while the xaos has relatively lighte (compared to the vx anyway) and the opposite on rears, the vx has light while the xaos is heavy. they fly very similar in brakes and turning basically when ever flying with toggles, they fly similar in risers other than the pressure. the dives are the same, i've seen team landings done with a vx and a xaos both loaded at about the same (wyatt drews under a vx and tj landgren under a xaos at rantoul). either canopy would be a great canopy to have, it's just a matter of what you prefur. i have about 300 jumps on a couple different vx's most on my 85. and about 20 or 30 on a xaos27 78 later
  20. when i had my fx, i never psycho packed it. i got great openings from a standard pro pack. roll the brake lines into the center, push the nose back, and roll the tail, not a lot but enough to hold it. i got great openings this way a good 700 foot snivel. later
  21. no, it's a bonehead mindwarp. one of the first ones of the new design, i think it was the first blue one sold. later
