  5. ya, it was a sensi, a proto type. he has made 2 complete different canopies sense then (that i've seen). and has done little trim mods to each one (like on site). at least this is what i under stood from him. later

    Paintball

when i was at zhills, the winds where too high to jump so we went and played paint ball. i had never played before, and it was a lot of fun. other than i didn't have a mask, just googles (not skydiving googles) and i got hit in the face from about 10 (maybe less) feet away. cut me open, and all that good stuff, and now i have a nice round scar from it. but hey, i'll play again, but not until i get a mask later
  10. i grew up around it, my mom and dad owned a dz. for 7 years. i love skydiving so much because of the people. no other sport do you have the "family" that you have in skydiving. you know that you always have someone to fall back on, and it doesn't matter who they are when there at the dz. you have so many different types of people, docters, firemen, office workers, bums (me ) and so on. and no other sport has the thrill or adrenaline that you get from skydiving (well, base jumping i guess). later
  11. ya, my parents aren't so cool any more huh. later
  12. what you need to do is call the dz's in FL, and see if they need any packers for the winter. but, before he goes down there, he needs to learn how to pack, and pack well. the dz's down there don't want to train anyone, because if they do, they'll just go to the next guy wanting a job. edit: and if he wants a job this summer, richmond is looking for a packer, and i am willing to train (and i know you said he was going to jersey, but i just thought i would put it out there later
  13. lol, i guess you do have a point there
  14. dude, i don't want to here it. my names kelly. come on now later
  15. go to orlando. the one in vegas sucks. at orlando you can get some coaching and all the good stuff, and learn something, in vegas you just fly, and can't do much, not enough air you have to wear a big floppy suit, and it just sucks. later
  16. i can see that, but i'm still not sure if i would be confortable with someone taking my seal off, putting in a new handle, and then re-sealing it. i mean (and this more than likely wouldn't happen) would if they put in a defective handle, that could of been stoped if they inspected it, and someone dies, now this is going back on me, not the rigger who put in the new handle, right. because, i don't think the other rigger would want to take responibilty for the packjob that wasn't his or her's. just my $.02 later
  17. ok, so your saying i can open up a rig, put in a new handle, and reseal.. i don't think i'm getting something here. please explain. thanks
  18. i haven't ever heard of a cypress misfiring. this is interesting. that's a damn good question man. i have heard of FXC 12000's firing high before (or not heard, have seen). but not a cypress. later
  19. i would say you would get more speed from the snap 180, considering you said just harness, no riser. but if you slow down the snap hook, add in some harness, and still use both risers (like pull them both down about an inch or so, then one more to the right or left, which ever you prefer, and get to where you want to be, let back up to where you had pulled both down to, and then let them both up), you will have more speed than what you'll ever get out of either one of the methods your saying. later
  20. i put up the retail prices because that is letting him know how much he is getting off on the rig. and no i don't pay retail later
  21. ya, those too. but i have heard from some people they like the mod hooknswoop does better than the one icarus does. now the mod that icarus does helps a lot, but hook's is better i guess. i don't know from first hand experience, but this is what people have told me. later
  22. if you know this, then why are u getting it?? do you want to get hurt. i don't mean to be an ass, but you just said it your self. i think that a 1.46, is too much for 135 jumps. brian germain has something, somewhere on his recemendations on wing loadings it's something like 100 jumps 1.1 200 1.2 300 1.3 400 1.4 and so on. and you have to take into consideration these are both fully elliptacal canopy's, and are much more prone to spinning mals, and i hate to say, but anyone with 135 jumps doesn't know how to fly the openings well enough to keep them under control to not spin up. and again, i don't mean to be an ass, but i just don't like to see anyone get hurt. i had a friend do this same thing, and he broke his leg. but, again, i don't think it really matter what any of us say, you are still your own person, and can do what ever you want later
