  4. happy b-day lew. later
  5. no, it won't blow up on him (knock on wood, knock knock knock). it should be just fine.
  6. they do, they make a 89. maybe he should get that one j/k. later
  7. ok, the max weight is put on it for the best performance of the reserve. it doesn't mean it won't hold you at all (it's tso'd at a much higher weight, 256 pounds). i have friends that have tempo 120's that are 200 pounds out the door, and landed them great. i have jumped a tempo 120, at 180 out the door (when i jumped it, i'm a bit more now). and it landed great. now, i'm not recmending at all you go over the manufactorers max weight limit. it's not good to that, BUT many many people do it every day, and are fine. later
  8. i don't have one, i feel left out now j/k. later
  9. make it clicky http://laugh.or.die.net/music/viking_kittens.swf later
  10. i believe you, it's just seams weird. i've seen one open hard, but not near as hard as that (ie that one that ripped). and the one that opened hard was my dad, and he knew it was him, he slamed the canopy in the bag to make the load, and he thinks he forgot to pull the slider out, and it was quite sloppy. oh well, every canopy is different. they all have a mind of thier own. but if your in SA, why don't you send it back to PISA, or now aerodyne, and have them do something about it, like it could be out of trim or something. later
  11. what heatwave did you jump?? i have had many heatwaves, and have jumped many (i owned a 120 lots of jumps, 100 about 100 or so, and then jumped a 135 for about 150 jumps). and they all opened great. i loved my heatwaves. weird. later
  12. dude, it's a free canopy, who cares what color it is later
  13. i know a lot of people who say you should tighten you chest strap then leg straps because you do you chest strap, and it kinda gets the rig situated a bit, a little more even. then you tighten you leg straps, and gets it straight. they say if you do you leg straps first, you may get the harness un-even. i personally think it's just a bunch of crap. i always tighten my leg straps before my chest strap, i don't know why, i just do. it does't really matter for me. later
  14. no, i didn't take one. when i stated doing hook turns or carving turns, i was too young to go to most dz's to take a course like that. and i had no cash to anyway. no one at my dz took a course. basically, we taught our selves. and needless to say, we pounded our selves in a couple times . BUT, even though i never took any kind of canopy coaching, i read everything i could about it. tried to learn as much as i could about things like that before i started. if i was starting to do hooks/carves now, i definitely would take a course. they are so helpful, and will keep you much safer later
  15. the person to ask about this would be Ian Bellis. he posts on here (i think he just started). i'm sure he will enlighten us on this. if not, i'll send out an e-mail to my buddy dominic that works at aerodyne. and see what he has to say. later
  16. hey, what do you call a male skydiver without a girl friend? Homeless later
  17. ya, it's true Cajones got like 4 phone calls saturday about it (he was up in richmond this weekend). later
  18. well, if it where me, i wouldn't set up that close to the fense in the first place. try doing accracy with some other things that aren't solid, IE if you screw up, and hit is, it won't hurt. and as to sliding in, if it where me (i have no clue if you have experience doing this or not, but you should try it some) i'd carve it off to one side or the other. but if you have never done it before, on a swoop like that you wouldn't want to try later
  19. the secondary riser covers on the G4 are a lot bigger than the G3's edit: i forgot to put, the bag on the G4 sucks ass. it has a gromet and a rubber band for it to split, and then you put your first line stow there (not locking the canopy in the bag, just closing it where it is split. and for me, it is just a big pain in the ass, that i see no good in (other than some gimic to try to cell more rigs). later
  20. i believe vector and racer say 500 jumps. strong says they recomend 100 jumps, but it is up to the tandem instructor. i know some TI's say only aff instructors can jump with them (for like video). and i know many more that really don't care how many jumps you have, it's your ability to fly. so, talk to the TI and maybe make a jump with him or her, and they can make the decision. later
  21. for me, no, i don't like the way the G4's look. they are fat. i just don't care for them. but that's just me, other's may have different opinions. later
  22. ya, L&B have great customer service. i have seen them replace 2 pro tracks, and 1 pro dytter at my dz from people loosing them, or having the buttons come off (from the riser). unfortunatly, i lost one a while back (a pro track) and didn't realize they did this kind of thing. it was out of a nevertigo, and i called sky systems, and they told me that it wasn't there fault, so i stoped there, didn't even think of calling L&B. even at that, i still will only buy L&B products for a dytter. later
  23. i'm not too sure about a 190, but i know they made a 172 viper. my dad had one. so i would assume if they made a 170, they would make a 190 also later
