  3. the point I was trying to make, not hint", is this. 1. keep fucking around with tdm's and killing people 2. keep killing people under open parachutes 3. Keep doing stupid shit like jumping out of PPG's and other non approved Ac's . 4. keep on jumping base gear out of AC's and impact a bridge full of people. 5. DZO's getting half million dollar fines for MX violations 6. leaving dead bodies laying around for days till they are discovered missing. the list goes on and on and only a fool would think that the FAA is not watching us along with other state and local agencys. Take a look what NZ is now doing to adventure aviation... you all think that shit can or won't happen here? So keeping fucking around and not playing by the rules we now have a see if they don't bust some balls. Q: Why do all PPG's in tandem trikes have to have an N # and you have to have a Sport PL to be legal? A: It's didn't used to be that way, but "they" have to protect the paying public. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. At one point in time they did a lot test jumping @ WPAFB. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  6. Can't say more at this time, but you all sit back and watch it's about to get real interesting in the real near future* for some of us. *6 mos or maybe less, maybe more? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Skydive-Tampa-Bay-Inc/156188374411634 Cliff Dobson is the owner, nice guy, just another crazy old corn husker fuck who's been dodging the planet for most my lifetime, give him a ring and go visit, might learn sump-tin. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. Yep on the hills.. as for STB, I have not been there but known the owner for a long time, near as I can tell it's an alright place, not a USPA GM, last time I looked. That's all I can tell you. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. I would have others help me get him out of the seat and then fly the airplane, get everyone out and then land it. I'm not a PPL holder but have many, many, many hours right seat & some left seat in most jumpships out there from Totters to 182's. YMMV you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. While most everything you posted was spot on, this last statement, is, well, way the fuck off in left field and stinks of the tin foil hat posse or one of those asshats who fills airport boards and tries to keep out approved aviation activities. If your a jumper you owe it to your sport to understand airspace classes and the rules of play in those classes. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. THX! Guess who was on the top of the "too call list" anyway. Check your pm's. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Fail.... Not a commercial that has already been done and is copyrighted. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. Yo vidiots, I'm seeking some footage of someone jumping a smart phone or tablet, from the jumpers perspective... in other words, a helmet cam looking at two hands in FF holding it. Trying to find something like that. Anyone? THX you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. Gee, maybe that's why I got two copies.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Well ya see, it used to be live & let live when it came to after hours safety meetings, most everyone was discreet and only narks were the ones to snitch on you and most everyone knew who the narks were.... they weren't at the safety meetings, cuz even back then the non smokers were cool. Then came along Nancy Regan and the "just say no" & "DARE" bullshit where we started brainwashing kids in kindergarten to snitch on mom & dad for twisting one up. Now those same kids are all grown up and still can't think on their own and still believe all that bullshit they were brained washed in to thinking about marijuana smoking and they have no problem snitching on those who partake in the herb.... even when after hours and not jumping, on or off the dz too. Then there is the DZ politic factor that comes in to play.... let me tell you a little story. One day about 12 yrs ago or so, this young dude showed up at a dz I was working & living on. This expert (LOL) tree climbing young lad was hated by pretty much the whole damn dz... all but the dzo. No one who was on staff could stand to be around the dude, but he was a student so we all dealt with him as professionals. At the end of the day everyone would go home, but us who lived there on site... however Mr. Loser treeboy wouldn't leave and just kept hanging around bugging the locals and couldn't take a hint to leave peoples space or the dz after hours, weekday or weekend didn't matter. (would invite himself to town or follow us to dinners etc) After a year or so of this guy being a douche, most everyone had learned to just deal with the guy and those who smoked weed would have to find ways to ditch the dude to smoke up, but like herpes.... just when you think you got rid of it, it pops back up and ruins a good time. About this time this guy started getting interested in some ratings and doing working jumps, but was on the bottom of the bottom of the list. Fast forward a few and that same guy and a few others in his "class" decided they wanted more shares of the pie, so one night while a couple of the regulars were out in a private RV toking up a number, those assholes dropped a dime and called the dzo and ratted them out, who promptly came to the dz and no knocked walked into the RV and busted them smoking. This ended up in staff who were not there on site as well as those who were on site and busted getting thrown off the dz, a big cleaning of house and those who were at the bottom yesterday were now at the top the next day. I started my education in skydiving in the early 70's until present, where I come from or the dz I was raised on, it was not cool to be a snitch and that was a good way to unwelcome yourself from most jumpers. Everything was pretty discreet, yet, yes people partied and jumped during the day, not all that uncommon. It also was not all that uncommon to find at the end of the day a safety meeting being held and attended by most the dz, those who never smoked hung out and we all bullshitted and drank what ever suited your fancy. Some where along the way that all changed and now if your a MJ smoker your seen as some kind of low life dirt bag by a great deal of the "mainstream" skydivers. (funny tho I know a lot of highly educated professional people, like Dr's, Lawyers, teachers etc. who smoke MJ) So is it all that uncommon to snitch on your fellow jumpers who are smoking a fatty after hours? No it's not all that uncommon these days and you will see more and more of that in the future until people can learn to live & let live those who are doing no harm to others. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Well I hope all you guys bitching about the stupid fucking class 3 medical requirement, have been or are planing to voice your concerns and thoughts to the full USPA BOD before the next meeting, because maybe we can get a change or something like the DOT medical cards approved, speak up or shut up already. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Take them out back and shoot them! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. It's not hurting "tandem skydiving" it is how ever hurting some instructors for various reasons, some are stupid medical issues, like a med once taken, others it might be the additional fees to pay out. I happen to agree with Ron on this, it is totally stupid to keep this requirement for us to hold a medical for one, but most of all forcing a class 3 FAA medical is even more stupid when there are other less expensive medicals out there. My class 3 is due in May, my DOT medical is still valid for another year.... The class 3 is min: 100 bucks and an hour drive away, unless I want to pay 140.00 bucks. The DOT medical is 40.00 to renew. I would like to not pay anything more for any medical, it's not required by the FAA for me to have one, the enjoyment of rating ownership, use and maintaining them is starting to out weight the usefulness of the ratings. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. unless something has changed that I missed, a ripcord is able to meet the licenses requirements. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. Saw that story. You may remember the skies west 206 deal back in the day, now that was a bad mid air... I had just started jumping there when that happened. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. When I called & asked, he stated he had a contract from them but had not had the time to fill it out sign it and return it to Cary, but he could see doing business with them in the very near future, two weeks or so. So my take from that call was Justin has no problem doing business with Cary and his scam companies at his new dz. Justin likes to call us all haters, in fact Justin, I don't personally hate you or your son or any of your family, however I can not and will not support this operation if & when you get back into business with Cary and his scams as you have in the past by working for him @ ASC & Waverly. If you were to run a legit dz free from ripping off people via the skyride network that scams a great deal of people, well then it would be a different story... That said, I'm sure Cary will send you enough bare bones you can make you're payments on time, that is as soon as you return the contract if you haven't already, till he gets tired of you and burns you too. But hey it's all good as long as you get the money... right? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. I would have to agree with you that is out of line for that thread to be locked for no other reason then the request. I also thought it was out of line for the comments that were directed at Mr. Chapman as well as others, for I never read or saw anyone saying the pilot was a dumbass for flying or any other negative comments. I have many of the same questions as Mr. Chapman and had been wondering the same things. All to often we hear and even have a sticky at the top stating not to read that forum if you can't handle the post in it. Seem this time one upset person gets a thread locked by asking for it, yet if any other incident were to happen at another dz and the dzo was asking for the threads to be locked they most likely would be told to pound sand and we see all the time threads running wild and never locked.... maybe because no one asked the right mod? I was happy to get the additional info posted, I have a better understanding on how HB's are flown now, however I think it was out of line for the one poster to start tell everyone to fuck off and STFU for no reason. I chalk it up to the personal loss and will give a pass on that, but I don't favor the special treatment on locking the thread as it was clearly done, unless from now on we can all start to ask that threads we don't like or agree with get locked on request. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Your advice would great advice if we were talking about a video flyer who is doing their own editing between loads and who has the 25 to 30 minutes per video to edit each one and burn it without render time added in, and for those people imovie and idvd is more then enough to handle the job, however the gain in ease of use is traded for time to do the job. I have done thousands of tandem videos in the mac world, there is simply no way to do it under 20 minutes per video, unless your making shitty videos! However we are talking about high volume and quick turn around times and the Sony Vegas production asst. was developed in part by a skydiver with a large understanding not only of the "production world" but the skydiving tandem video world and how to speed it up to solve the very problem the OP is asking about. There is no way you can beat or edit faster then SV PA in it's automated format that can produce a complete dvd in 10 minutes or less. You need to spend sometime doing skydiving videos to really understand the needs of the professional camera flying rotation and business needs. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. most large volume dz hire an editor who's job it is to sit there all day and edit videos and burn stills. You should be looking to automate as much as you can with something like Sony Vegas running production assistant, so that once up and running in the right editors hands you can product end product DVDs in minutes and have them walk out the door. There are a number of people on this forum who are doing it, such as E-snore for one. I'm sure there are others as well. If you really want to scoop on it do a search on here for Sony Vegas & production assistant and if that fails you ask the old spotted one. There are a number of ways to send your clients out the door with videos and stills in hand as long as your not a cheap tight ass about it, and if your as busy as you say then there should be no real reason to be a cheap tight ass about, unless your just a cheap tight ass. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
