The Mayor is a moron. City counsel member AJ O’Connell is one of the good guys, but is out numbered by the morons on the counsel. http://www.registerguard.com/web/newslocalnews/27771178-41/moore-mediation-complaint-creswell-hicks.html.csp you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
There is a dz up the road from there: Pegasus Air Sport 1220 County Road 1400 Chickasha, OK 73018 (405) 222-1445 However they don't do AFF training there only Static line method. The nearest real dz would be 182 miles to Skydive Dallas:1039 Private Road 438 Whitewright, TX 75491 (903) 364-5103 www.skydivedallas.com you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

You haven't spent much time on the front range in or around Boulder have you.... Other wise you would know this is another "cause" to keep these types busy and give meaning to their life, sooner or later they'll be bitching about something else. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

No here name is Emma J. Withers and she has property in Dade City Florida @ 38121 Shadow Drive, Dade City, FL 33525, she is friends with that nut case Ms. Kimberly Gibbs and it seems she has been visiting Gunbarrel for some time now http://www.timescall.com/opinion/letterstotheeditor/ci_20005672 One would assume by her posts and the news story she is staying with Ms. Kimberly Gibbs @ 7468 Mt. Sherman Rd Gunbarrel Co. and thus forced to listen to her nut case friend bitch endlessly about airplanes flying over 7468 Mt. Sherman Rd. because it is in direct line with the downwind leg approach path to the 29 runway. While not busy ringing the airport and the City of Longmont every flight to bitch about airplanes and writing letters to the newspaper, those two assholes are busy folding tin foil hats for their little self center tin hat brigade and picketing the Girl Scout cookie sale over at the Longmont Walmart. But without them life would be boring, you got to have people to laugh at and those two are laughable at best..... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

The hell we don't, I live in a collage town, much like Boulder and we still have that all the time, maybe because your so deaf from all those airplanes flying over head is why you can't hear it. O goodie, this mean we can look forward to more assine comments and another movement by you and Ms. Kimberly Gibbs to try to outlaw airplane noise? Hey good luck with all that, looking forward to the FAA handing your ass to you on round two. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Well a little research show Ms. Kimberly Gibbs is also from Dade City Fl just like Ms. Emma Withers, you know just up the road from z-hills, it seems she has property in FL also like Ms. Emma Withers, might even be next door to EMMA on shadow dr??? I can't recall. Emma on the other hand is 70yrs old or so and most likely came up to visit her old friend Ms. Kimberly Gibbs and get some fresh air in Colorado and "hoveraround" a bit. I bet she was forced to watch video after video of that nasty damn airplane flying in & out of the airport, of course that is when they were not down picketing the girl scouts cookie sale at walmart. Citizens for clear doors way and a cookie free America, all hail queens Gibbs & Withers.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Yea Ms. Kimberly Gibbs that is who... she has also deleted her little facebook group that her and her 9 friends had going once she got her ass handed to her by the City of Longmont and the FAA. I hear she has moved on to bitching about the girl scouts who sell cookies in front of the Longmont Walmart because they are disrupting and blocking up the doorway and all the noise they make barking out to people for cookie sales. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA5FXE1lKCI&feature=player_embedded Yea bitching because they live under the approach for the runway. Nice little video to bitch about an otter landing, just think if it had been taking off how much she would have been bitching. Sorry but Ms. Kimberly Gibbs is a moron! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Well Emma, For one thing I've never seen a propeller with a muffler installed on it before, in fact last time I checked there has not been one invented yet.... so there is your hot tip of the day. Maybe you and Kim Gibbs should get together for tea and crumpets and start working on a design for the new space aged propeller with muffler combo, I'm sure not only would you both make a shit load of money, you both could put your minds together and find some other cause to bitch about. BTW how did you get from FL to CO? Did you drive all the way? Here is a news flash for you: don't buy a house next to an airport if you don't like the noise airplanes make. Most of all due some research on the location of the home you wish to buy and make sure it's not right under the flight path to the runway approach corridor, maybe your friend Ms. Gibbs would be better off living next to a drag strip or nascar track, maybe a landfill, there is one of those on the east side of Longmont. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
I have a g4 powerbook and use it only for the ilife suite. I don't know what one your using, but my wife has a macbook pro as well. So I have no idea what all the problems your talking about are. That said... I have never had a problem moving files around via drag and drop. iworks ( I think) is a office like program my wife has for excel like work and it is nice. As for your year end video, I can't understand that you have not got it done, imovie is simple to use and does a very good job for end product and making dvds. I don't use Gband. IMHO, it seem people who are used to a PC world and then move to mac find it overwhelming, only because they are so use to having to over think how to do something, most mac stuff is pretty simple without as many steps in the PC world. As for back up, I just use an external HD and drag and drop it. There are a lot of things that are hard to understand about mac, mostly because they use their own "slang" and not called the same as the PC world. I use both and going back in forth is at times stressful. Each has their good & bad. I love imoive hd 6, but it has it's limits, great for simple TDM vids and smaller productions. Currently I'm now trying to learn vegas pro 11 and find it a pain in the ass, but I have no training on it and don't know all the buttons and features, so I ordered DSE's new book and hope that will walk me through it and make it easy to get going. IDK, maybe before you chuck it out the window of your moving car.... have you thought of or tried to go to the apple store and take a few classes they give for free on the things you are having issues with and not rely so much on forums? I'm a hands on learner for sure and that is why trying to learn vegas from a book or short internet videos is a pain in the ass for me, but there is no where or anyone I know who is using it I can go hang out with and ask questions and learn hands on from. Anyway I understand and feel your pain, best of luck and check out the free classes of you can. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

what happens if your PC entangles with your gopro
stratostar replied to virgin-burner's topic in Photography and Video
I saw that other thread, I like how you have edited the video and at the end made some valid safety points. Your video shows how a little thing a lot of people never think about that can bite you in the ass when adding a camera, like unstowed brake lines. And unstowed line became in fashion a few years back. For camera flying And then even though you had a plan of action and a cutaway you failed to use it, and that is what can happen (as you know first hand) to people under stress when the shit hits the fan. None of us are immune to this type of brain failure! The "kid" who's photo I posted, that came from a face book post... I commented that for his safety I hoped he had a cutaway on that helmet seeing how there is now a big ass hook on top. His reply was: all go pro are a snag hazard. To me I can think of a number of ways to minimize the mounting of a go pro to not only that helmet but other helmets as well, and while yes all cameras are a snag hazard, some are as safe as they can be made and others are just asking for it to kill you. Sure there are a lot of people getting away with it and as DSE points out we are seeing a lot more of those set ups becoming "mainstream" these days. So again IMHO it's only a matter of time we see some deaths due to a snag on just such a set up as I posted. Won't see that grappling hook shit on my head. Hey to each their own, blue skies & black death! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

43 echo, The most important thing I hope you take away form this is that not all people in this sport are low life scum bags who will rip you off. 90% of the skydiving world are great people, but there is the 10% out there. I hope you are not soured on the sport now and can find resolve and go on to be a happy jumper with nice gear and do your part to pass on the lessons (all of them) that you learn the hard way to the next batch of up and coming jumpers in your neck of the woods, you'll be a better person for it and the sport will be better for it too. Best of luck to you and always remember to drive fast, take chances and date your rigger wife. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

If it was me I would try asking the Conasters? (they own Perris Valley) to see if 1. I could hire them to do it in the shop @ PVA and then 2. ask the seller to fly it there for inspection. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Look man, We all know it's bullshit you got ripped off and burned like that, there is no excuse for that period. Also no one is saying you can't take care of gear. However, what is being said is here is, FACT: you dropped the ball in many ways on this deal and you need to own up to that fuck up and for the most part you have. But bottom line is you dropped the ball by not using a broker or fully opening up the canopy and doing a full inspection the day that it showed up or drop shipping to your rigger or PD for inspection, a little homework goes a long way. Because in the past other people have been burned on here buying from people they don't know and from states away. A quick search on here would have shown you there is a lot of good advice on here about buying from DZ.com and people you don't know. I have done transactions on here a number of times and never got burned or burned anyone else, when I buy or sell I check out that person via a call to the dz they claim to jump at for many reasons, one of those being to make sure I'm not selling to someone who has no business jump it. I'm a rigger, but not being a rigger is no excuse for not doing your own inspection ASAP, more so when you have rigging experience in the past, had you done so this matter may have turned different, however I lean towards the seller being a low life who knew he sold you over priced shit and burned you. Let this be a lesson to anyone else who is seeking to buy used gear from those they don't know. I hope you find a resolve to this matter, but sadly I think your screwed. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

stratostar replied to virgin-burner's topic in Photography and Video
The problem is you can't tell a moron they are a moron, they just don't get it and never will get it. There is a whole bunch of bounce bingo players these days who think it can't or won't happen to them, after all it's a small format camera and the tape will let loose or the plastic will bust off and free the entanglement. Then there is the asshats who think they can unsnap that kind of chin strap set up on those full face helmets while getting choked and having some shit try to rip their heads off @ 120mph. But yes not only should they talk to le old stinky fish, they should see his video and post about his encounter with the reaper. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Yes they do and in fact we are seeing more and more set ups like this one attached. Too many people with no video experience strapping on shit like this and thinking it won't or can't happen to them. No way in hell I would want that stupid ass mount sticking up like that on even a FTP let alone this kind of fullface or other non cutaway system helmet. Just say'n..... Only a matter of time till someone goes in due to one of these kind of set ups IMHO. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

stratostar replied to 43_echo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First let me say that I'm sorry for your problem. However a good deal of blame is on you for not doing a brokered deal with the seller. If your not sure what I'm talking about, it's this.... You should have checked out the seller via their DZO where they claim to jump. Then you should have set the deal up to go through your dzo or rigger, so that after an inspection, IF everything is cool the third party then releases/sends the money to them. Or you could send the money to their DZO on condition that the gear will be inspected and once passing inspection the DZO could release the money. Any honest person and or DZO or Rigger would be happy to help you and do a deal like that, it covers all parties in most cases. Anyone who won't work with you on a deal like that you need to stay away from. It also sounds like this canopy might have been jumped in the SW, places like Eloy & Perris will trash a canopy pretty fast when jumped out there and they often look like what your talking about. You should have never sat on the canopy and waited to inspect it as well, day one you inspect it, I'm pretty sure if you got a PC in storage, you can tell a new canopy with 200 jumps on it from a trashed one. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
What I said is true. I posted a link to a news story, that in its self would tend to make most anyone who has followed the saga of that bunch, to think this dz is yet another ticket taker for the network. After all I'm pretty sure newspaper didn't just show up for a hot scoop story here, pretty common to call the local news peeps and try to get some free advertising for DZ's. (public record) Then when you add into the mix Justin's own posts on here defending the business model and actions of his former employers, Ben & Cary and expressly states he is a huge supporter of them as long as he was getting paid to help ripoff people, again it would tend to point to a reasonable person having the impression I posted about when reading the newspaper story about the DZ and then quoting someone who drove from TX to TN to make a jump at pimple of a dz in the backwoods of hillbilly land. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be Bill Von then, right? You can flame all you want for expressing my point of view as to how and why I posted as I did, I stand behind the post... based on the public records at hand IMHO this dz will take any sales from thrill planet, skyride, sportations, IGO etc. if not now in the very near future. Well its been almost 24hrs, still waiting for the mob to show up. Gee maybe their not going to show up because all of those players have already gone their rounds with Justin for the last few years and they already know what he is all about and like many assume he has not changed his ways and or loyal support for the skyride ripoff business plan. Even his website is trying to use many of the same tactics as Ben & Cary's websites do for SEO. Generally in today's industry almost every dz that is not taking part in the ripping off of people, these businesses go to great effort to advertise they are not part of that scam. Even most new dzs' will place a big banner on their websites making it clear they are not part of that network. The ones who don't are the ones who are taking the tickets and supporting the scam. Gee John if your so worried about it maybe you should call them up and ask if they take them or not and report back to us your findings... Better hurry up before the lynch mob gets here and burns down the thread. (P.S. I did call and I got the answer from Justin himself, so I stand by my statements!) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

http://www.nooga.com/154016/new-skydiving-business-opens-in-marion-county-serves-chattanooga/ Seeing how Justin used to work for ASC and all that... the quoted person in the news story sure sounds like a skyride rip off sale to me.... So reason lends it self to think it might be another ticket taker dz, at least that was my first thought when I read the news story. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
