  1. I have a Mamba and I love it! Feels great, the visor is very secure and no problems at all with it even coming close to shifting around on my dome or coming off. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Muff Brother #4382 Dudeist Skydiver #000 www.fundraiseadventure.com
  2. +1 Vector 3 or Micron is the way to go.... well worth the money! I love mine!! Getting ready to buy another. ok, so you like the Vector3. Have you tried all the others ? Is V3 the way to go because it works for you, or because you honestly think it's better than all the others ? Jumped a Jav Odessey and a mirage liked the V3 the best. It was the most comfortable, I like the looks of it, and yes I like having a skyhook. I do not like pop tops but that's just me. I don't think any of them suck but for me the Vector was the way to go! Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 3. I spent way more than 5k on my baby and it is worth every penny! P.s. Freeflying made all of the gear more expensive and 4 way killed skydiving ;) I love it when I hear those phrases said between RW jumpers and freefliers. 6. JMO but I would say get to atleast 100 jumps before you start backflying then going to a sit. I feel you need to build a lot more air awarness and tracking skills. That bing said some disagree with me but I think it gives you an advantage and could keep you from making a big mistake that could be really bad that would not be as bad on your belly. 7. And around and around we go. You were the one saying that they are adults and can make their own decisions. You also stated that it's the old farts that keep wanting to stop newbies from progressing. The problem is the less experience you have the less you recognize when something is dangerous. You just think, hey man, those people don't know my skills, I know what I'm doing, **** off. And they will also find some dz at which to do whatever it is they want to do simply because this sport has yet to reach the babysitting stage, which was discussed earlier. And I pray it never does. +1 I will also add that yes I had older instructors and still have them as "older" mentors but I also have many young and talented mentors that started jumping way before I did that I listen to and if they know my skill level and tell me I am not ready I will listen. What is so wrong or hard about that. 9. Ok.... I was just wondering.... I thought it might be the point I could get in to it but was not sure mostly bc I am not there yet and until I am I won't know if I am comfortable trying it. I know right now I would not be just as I waited until I had 100+ jumps to start freeflying at all. Some say its okay to start earlier with that but I disagree. jmho and my comfort level so I hope that others really listen to more experienced jumpers and enjoy the journey. God knows I have made mistakes and will make more I just want to be jumping for a very long time. 10. That's one of the reasons that time in sport IS important. Someone with 500 jumps at one DZ over the course of six months hasn't seen other DZ's. He hasn't traveled much because he's only been jumping in the summer and fall. He hasn't seen other people land different canopies. He hasn't seen many wingsuit pilots talking about their problems. He's only seen the people in his little pond. However, try to find someone who's been in the sport for five years who HASN'T travelled. Much harder to do. Just a question Bill...... I have a huge amount of jumps... 215 and have been in the sport just over 1 year. I jump at a 182 small DZ but I have also been to Raeford, Zhills (Christmas Bogie), SDC (Summerfest), and our Boogie (Richmond "The Boogie") I am not saying I know anything just curious if I have 400 jumps by the end of our season and I have traveled to different DZ's and jumped with a lot of people in the air does time matter as much to me? I do think it is valuable but I am refering to what you said and I agree most do not travel away from their "pond" but I do and am planning to go to Zhills again, the PR Boogie, and our boogie of course is over Labor Day weekend. So 2 yrs is not much time but having 400-500 jumps in that time with the travel to bigger dz's..... would that make me qualified learn how to jump a wingsuit? 14. We saw it hit just past the pin and check back to it but I never saw it drop and just thought it was sitting there for a nice and easy bird..... but ya its like skydiving in that beer has to be bought for everyone. Mine was at a scramble so I had to buy 114 beers but the clubhouse there has their tip jar and have a rule that if there is a hole in one hit that goes towards the beer so it only cost me around $200.00. 24. Well she just got her first full time nursing job... a very big deal! She worked very hard through school and in this economy she worked hard to get her job so I took her out to a local downtown spot (Jeff Ruby's for locals) to celebrate her job. I made cards and numbered them and told her at the beginning that I would be giving her cards over the course of the night starting with card 10 and telling her these are the top ten reasons she will make an amazing nurse. We had an amazing dinner and I got to card 3 heading back to my place. In the meantime I had friends set up a table on my terrace with candles and chilled champagne. I walked her up there and told her I really wanted her to know how proud I was of her and so I set this up so we could have Chapagne to celebrate (sunset view of downtown). Just to make sure she was not sniffing out where I was headed card #1 was still a reason why she would make an amazing nurse which she loved so I popped the cork and we enjoyed with some chocolate cheesecake (shared). Then I told her I actually thought of 11 reasons but was trying to stay with the "top ten" but I still wanted her to know. This envelope said "The best reason of all" and it said "we have each other, Marry me?" which after she read it I was down on my knee in front of her with the ring and she was balling and now we are engaged...... :) Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it.
