Christians claim that Jesus is, in fact, the Jewish Messiah. Since Jesus didn't actually accomplish the things that the Jewish Messiah is supposed to accomplish, the Christians have to have a way of getting around this. They claim that Jesus will accomplish these things in a 'Second Coming' so that the original Jewish prophecies--as well as a lot of newer prophecies that the Christians throw in for good measure--can come true. Basically the evidence points to Jesus not being who he is claimed to be, so the Christians are waiting for the Second Coming when it is said that Jesus will produce the evidence in rather dramatic fashion. Because some of the prophecies--especially the rebuilding of the Temple--are specific to the land of Israel, Christians do in fact have a desire to see a stable government in that area of the world so that their prophecies can come true. You have no idea what you are talking about! Jesus fulfilled all prophetic points.... there are none that we are waiting on in the second coming! Where did you come up with that? The temple has nothing to do with Jesus fulfilling Messianic prophecy but it is a prophecy for the end days. I think it is VERY well understood that most Christians believe and in fact get rather excited by the idea that ALL so-called non-believers (not just Jews but also Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, and sometimes even the wrong 'type' of Christians) are going to spend Eternity in eternal torment in hell. Note that even the Christian Skydivers Association requires you to sign a statement saying that you believe this is a 'dying' world. WHAT??? That statement is insane! Get "rather excited"? As a Christian I would have to disagree..... I know a handful f what I call "stupid Christians" that are off of their rocker but "many"? I think it may be a bit far fetched to think that is why we have support Israel. That being said I do think our support of Israel was too much but I also don't believe they deserve no support from us. My one question is....... is there actually shock about this nomination? Everyone knew this is the type of judge that obama would nominate and truth be told she will just be replacing a liberal judge so the balance on the court does not really change. Well I would presume differently....... in a matter of days I think you can easily tell if a person is going to talk. I do not think what you posted says they were waterboarded right away. What about what I asked? If effort is put in to getting a person to talk but they still will not is it then acceptable to waterboard them? So what about a two stage approach...... try the your option and if it produces then that's fine but if it doesn't then move to different techniques. That's the reason this whole debate makes no sense. If you are pro life you are arguing for the rights of the child and if you are prochoice you are arguing for the rights of the mother. It is really two different topics. If you believe that it is a life.... a living human being with a soul, etc. then nothing gives a person the right to kill it because that is the stance the prolife side takes. It is a human being and it is murder. If you take the stance that it is undeveloped and not really a person yet, etc. then it does not seem like a huge deal and the "life" in this scenerio is the mother and the only one to be concerned about. To say any view is wrong is wrong. This is a really sensitive subject that people have very strong feelings about so anyone saying that a person is sick, or evil, etc. for thinking one way or the other is just stupid. Depending on your viewpoint both sides could be looked at as doing something wrong. Just my $0.02. I do think that abortion should not receive federal funding of any kind and it should be a state issue. What I said is true. it doesn't matter if you're a Christian extremist, Zionist or Islamist, if you believe that the others are less deserving of Gods love and are hellward bound its easier to justify poor tretment of them. Christianity does NOT say that anyone is less deserving of God's love! There may be Christians out there that believe that but that is not what the Bible teaches! why should you lifestyle choice have ANY bearing on it one way or the other? It doesn't it but it seems to be the reason given for why people in the tax brackets below me pay so much less or nothing at all. That is what I hear everytime from people who support the tax hikes or current structure. I am a fan of a flat tax however it could be worked. I really believe the private sector manages gifts and gives more than the government ever has to the less fortunate so why not empower that more?
