Sorry dude, I know how you can make a million.... start a DZ. Now that is pure comedy! I have been in my field since I graduated college and have been very blessed to do so well. I keep thinking how I can make money and focus more on skydiving. All my DZO says to me is "You sure as hell cannot do it owning a dropzone". Also, if you normalize for religious giving vs. strictly humanitarian giving (ie, giving $100k to a megachurch is not the same as giving $100k to the Red Cross) the picture becomes even murkier. It depends on the church! My church is considered a "mega church" but if you look at the numbers on what we give...... 20% goes to maintaning the church, salaries, etc. 80% is given away. One notable project was that we built the largest AIDS hospice in Africa. I am just saying that you cannot generalize like that. I would say the Red Cross as much as I do believe in it..... they give less of what they take in than my church does. My church however is not dominant GOP or Dem., I would say it is pretty even. I have had a 79 CJ-7, a 95 yj wrangler, a 2001 grand cherokee, and now a 07 jk wrangler and i have loved them all! I have never had any major problems with any of them. I love and support Jeeps.... that being said........ a Suby is a solid car. The 4 wheel drive technology Suby has is fantastic. That's all I got...... This is what I do for a living and I also am a very active trader. First I will tell you that in the past mutual funds were a smart move but just for your knowledge.... 5 of 1400 or so mutual funds finished in the black in 2008. The truth is that buy and hold is not smart right now. You have to play the game and yes it is a game with money management rules very similar to blackjack. If you want me to get specific and want me to give you some suggestions, feel free to PM me. Just like others have said..... use only money you can lose! I say you should never trade with more than 30% of your overall portfolio. This applies to forex, options, stocks, etc..... Not so much stupid but really clever.... my buddy asked if during the "falling dreams" that everyone gets, do we as skydivers not jump suddenly and wake up, rather just enjoy it the whole time. I had a girlfriend decorate a shoebox and fill it with various little gifts including the cheap little grade school cards just like in elementary school. She was a good girl and the gift was thoughtful and creative. I like little stuff though.... never been a "grand gift" kind of guy. I think V day is funny but I am not opposed to it at all. My worst gift..... an "airbrushed" t-shirt with our names on it surrounded by a heart.... VOMIT who does that?
